An Onixpected Evolution Steelix
We’re really Rock-n the puns today. Steel-n the show. Really, though, if you’re looking for an imposing Steel-type then you’ll definitely want Steelix on your team. The Steel Snake is about as fast as a snail stuck in a tar pit but it more than makes up for that minor issue with its incredible defense and power.
When Mega-Evolved, this towering Pokémon boasts 125 attack and 230 defense. It also comes packed with the Sheer Force hidden ability, which boosts all of its moves by 30% . In the right hands, Steelix is a powerful ally.
Logical Reasons For Poison
Poison-type Pokémonhave two weaknesses and five resistances.
- Ground: Soil absorbs toxins.
- Psychic: Doctors, pharmacists, and others with a certified understanding of toxins can create antidotes to neutralize the poison.
- Grass: Toxins can destroy plants.
- Fighting: Strong animals can’t beat toxins alone.
- Poison: Uncontrolled toxins can’t neutralize other uncontrolled toxins.
- Fairy: Toxins harm organic life, and it’s safe to say that fairies would be organic lifeforms.
What Can Beat Fairy Type Pokemon
In other words, Fairy-types have no resistance to Grass-types and the creature can inflict extra damage being a Poison-type. Pokemon GO trainers who arent fortunate enough to have either of the first two Pokemon can still battle Fairies effectively by using Muk, Vileplume, Roserade, or Victreebell.

Logical Reasons For Dragon
Dragon-type Pokémon have three weaknesses and four resistances.
- Dragon: The only true match for a dragon is another dragon.
- Ice: Not even a dragon could survive a blizzard.
- Fairies: Magic defeats mythical creatures in fairytales.
- Water: Dragons are tough enough to survive tsunamis.
- Electric: Dragons are tough enough to survive lightning storms.
- Fire: Dragons breathe fire, and often live in areas surrounded by heat.
- Grass: Dragons have tough skin. Plants are too brittle to deal any serious damage.

The Mullet Pokmon Mawile
Some of you may be familiar with the sentiment regarding mullets as a fashion choice. It’s all about “business in the front and a party in the back.” Mawile is very much the same if your idea of partying is dodging a massive Venus fly-trap filled with razor-sharp teeth. To each their own.
Mawile is already one of the coolest Pokémon from a design standpoint and is beloved by Game Freak enough to receive a Mega evolution which boosts its attack and defense stats quite high. It also received a Steel/Fairy typing to make it even more of a nuisance.
Pokmon Type Effectiveness And Weakness Chart
Our type chart presents the 18 Pokémon types in attack and defence scenarios. To use it, simply find your Pokémons type to see what its attacks are strong and weak against, and what it is resistant and vulnerable to when defending.
- Types bolded in square brackets are subject to a further cut in effectiveness in the mainline games these are outright immunities
- If a type is not listed, damage is neutral
- The strength of an attack is increased if the attack type is strong against both types of a dual type Pokémon
- Type resistance and vulnerability effectively cancel each other out on dual type Pokémon
|Pokémon Type Chart|
Bug, Dark, , Fighting
Note that attack and defence type relationships are not identical e.g. types may be resistant to types when defending that they are not super effective against when attacking.
Remember, things get even more interesting when Pokémon of dual types crop up and you have to factor in additional strengths and weaknesses.
Weaknesses Of Psychic Type Pokemon
Generally, the Steel, Ghost and Dark types of pokemon are good against the psychic type.
Some well known weaknesses of the psychic type are given as follows.
Only Strong Against Certain Types
Generally, psychic types are only effective against fighting pokemon and poison pokemon.
Their ground attacks are especially effective against the poison types and their flying and fairy attacks are effective against the fighting type. However, the list ends there.
Only Resist Two Types of Attacks Effectively
As mentioned above, Psychic Type Pokemon are effective against certain types of pokemon.
Just like that, they can only resist two attack types, which are psychic and fighting.
A defense against the fighting type is good but it is still not that good because most of the psychic pokemon are lousy when it comes to physical defense.
No Effect On Dark Type Pokemon
As shocking as it is, Psychic Type Pokemon are useless against Dark Type Pokemon.
Psychic moves do not affect Dark Pokemon, which is a huge weakness that can be used against them.
No pokemon is invincible, you just need to find out their weaknesses to know what to use against them.
Although this immunity can be removed with the miracle eye, it is still something you can use against these types of Pokemon.
Moreover, they are not very effective against Steel Type Pokemon and other Psychic Type Pokemon.
Logical Reasons For Fairy
Fairy-type Pokémon have two weaknesses, three resistances, and one immunity.
- Poison: Man-made toxins destroy everything in nature, weakening a fairy’s power.
- Steel: Man-made structures replace natural forests, weakening a fairy’s power.
- Fighting: Not even a world-class fighter could defeat a magic-user.
- Dark: Fairy magic illuminates the dark, ridding them of fear.
- Bug: Fairies are surrounded by all of nature, so they know how to protect themselves from it.
- Ice: Two objects of the same density have a hard time breaking each other.

Any day we can seamlessly mix together Key and Peele and Pokémon is a good day. Jokes aside, Aggron is a hulking behemoth with some unique ability combinations and a Mega Evolution. Handing this beast some Aggronite will transform it into a 630 base stat Mecha Godzilla with a defense stat higher than Pokémon God .
Heavy Slam will deal damage based on the difference between the target’s weight and Aggron’s. This beefy Steel-type weighs an impressive 870.8 lbs and its Heavy Metal hidden ability doubles that number. Ouch.
It falls this far down on the list, though, thanks to its 4x weakness to Fighting and Ground .

Pokemon Type Weaknesses And Strengths Chart Explained
Despite the table above, there is actually much more to type effectiveness than meets the eye. For example:
- Super effective moves will deal double the damage, whereas weak moves will deal half. There are also a few moves that will deal no damage at all, such as normal-type attacks against ghost-types.
- Dual-types also play an important role. Dual-type Pokemon, as the name suggests, have two types. If the move you are using is effective against both the opposing Pokemons typing, it will deal 4x the damage. Conversely, if the move is weak against both, then it will be just 1/4 of the overall damage.
The best example of a super-effective type attack is using a water attack against a rock and/or ground type. In this instance, Geodude would be 4x more susceptible against any water Pokemon attacks directed at it.
The opposite of this would occur when a Fairy-type move is used a mon like Heatran, which is a dual steel/fire-type. This would result in just 1/4 of the damage.
Learning all of these strengths and weaknesses will undoubtedly take time, but utilizing our guide here when in doubt will help you on your way to becoming Galars number one trainer in the region!

Pokemon Go Type Chart: Strengths Effectiveness Weaknesses And Resistances Explained
In Pokemon Go, Every type of Pokemon has four different relationships with other types any trainer should be aware of. That is:
- Strong Against: represented on our type chart as Strong Vs, attacks from the listed type against the type listed here will deal additional damage to your opponent. This is ‘Super Effective’.
- Weak Against: represented here as Weak Vs, attacks from the listed type against these types will do less damage to the enemy. This is ‘Not very effective…’
- Resistance: listed as resist, taking attacks from this type will do much less damage to you.
- Vulnerable: your type’s weaknesses. Attacks of these types will deal more damage – watch out!
So, for instance, Offensively a Ground-type Pokemon/move is Strong against Poison, Rock, Steel, Fire and Electric types, dealing double damage to them. It only does 50% damage against Flying, Bug and Grass Pokemon. Defensively, that same Ground-type Pokemon will take reduced damage from Poison, Rock and Electric Pokemon but also take double damage from Water, Grass and Ice – which is vulnerable to.
With that explained, let’s get into the Pokemon Go type chart in full.

Duraludon is the definition of a Pokémon with a million options. Need a trap-setter that has incredible defensive typing? Duraludon can do that. Need a high-power special attacker with cool glasses that can erase an entire team of Pokémon? Duraludon can do that too. There are certainly other ways to play, and Duraludon can do it.
Duraludon is especially refreshing as other single-stage dragon-types don’t often get the kind of love and recognition, rotting away and forgotten. Once Duraludon goes Gigantamax and becomes an entire building, it’ll never be forgotten. Duraludon is a fantastic steel addition to the roster.
