While Zeraora is appearing in Max Raid Battles throughout Pokemon Sword and Shield right now, you cant actually catch it right now.
Even if you do manage to defeat the Thunderclap Pokémon and complete the raid, there is no prompt to throw a Poké Ball. Instead, you will be sent straight to the reward screen before exiting the raid altogether.
This is similar to the Mewtwo limited-event that set the standard for this type of Max Raid Battle, where the challenge is very high, but you dont actually get the payoff of capturing a Legendary Pokémon.
Just because you cant catch Zeraora right now, however, it doesnt mean you cant still obtain one. In fact, Game Freak has already said that if enough people complete the limited-time raid, every player will receive a free Shiny Zeraora for their time.
Zerora is set to continue appearing in Max Raid Battles until June 28, which is the cutoff for the event and when Game Freak will tally up the numbers. If more than 1 million trainers have Zeraora defeated, a Shiny Zeraora will be distributed through Mystery Gift after the conclusion of the event.

Like other legendary Pokémon upon their introduction to Go, Zacian and Zamazenta wont be obtainable in their shiny forms during this event. Both Pokémon will only be available in their Hero of Many Battles forms, meaning theyll lack their Steel-typing and access to some of their most powerful moves.

Everything You Need To Know About Zeraora In Pokmon Unite
Zeraora is classified as a Speedster who specialises in melee attacks in Pokémon Unite.
Its high stats in both mobility and offense make Zeraora perfect for moving quickly around the battlefield and attacking your opponents. Zeraora’s low endurance, however, means that you need to keep an eye on its HP level and be ready to make a quick retreat when necessary.
You should also always avoid using Zeraora for support, focusing, instead, on collecting Aeos Energy and scoring goals.
Thankfully, its Basic Attack will restore some of your HP on every third use and Spark, which you can select upon reaching Level 6, will also restore HP once it’s been upgraded.
Best of all, Zeraora’s Unite Move, Plasma Gale, causes a great amount of damage to both surrounding Pokémon and forces them away from you, which makes it perfect for clearing the battlefield. Plasma Gale also has the added bonus of creating a zone where both the range and power of Zeraora’s Basic Attack is enhanced.
It’s important to note that, difficulty wise, Zeraora on the Expert level. For this reason, we recommend using the Practice Area to gain a better understanding of its moveset before using Zeraora in a proper match.

How To Redeem Zeraora
First off, to get Zeraora, youll need to log on and download Pokémon Unite before . If you plan to play on the mobile version thats coming out this fall, dont fret. A tweet from the games official page shared that players planning to play on mobile will still be able to get the Pokémon at a later date.
Once youve downloaded the game, launch it and navigate to the main menu with your trainer and Pokémon on it. Press X on your Switch controller and itll open a submenu. From there, scroll down to Mail and click on System Messages. In there is a message titled Launch Bonus. Press A to redeem Zeraoras Unite license and unlock it. Once you do that, Zeraora will appear as an optional fighter.
Its only day one, so players are still figuring out the strengths and weaknesses of each character, but it wont hurt to pick up another fighter. Heres a video showing off the Pokémons move set in the game.

The mysterious Pokémon Zeraora now appears in Dyna raids in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
You have until June 29th at 1:59 a.m. to catch the Pokémon.
And thats not all: if a million players manage to defeat Zeraora during this period, everyone will receive a dazzling Zeraora in Pokémon Home for free.
After reaching the first million, participating trainers will also receive a chunk of armor ore for every 100,000 additional trainers who defeat Zeraora, it said. Up to 10 chunks of armor ore can be obtained this way .
Armor ore can be used on Armor Island in the first DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield to teach your Pokémon new attacks.
To get the dazzling Zeraora and the armor ore, you need to use the secret gift option in the mobile version of Pokémon Home from June 30th at 2:00 a.m. to July 7th at 1:59 a.m.
And you still have to meet the following condition: Between Wednesday, June 17, at 5 p.m. and Tuesday, July 7, at 1:59 a.m. you have a Pokémon stored in Pokémon Home or from Pokémon Home to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Transfer shield.

First, head to the Pokemon Dens in the Wild Area that have a beam of light shooting out of them.
When you interact with one of these Dens, youll see the silhouette of the Pokemon that’s available to battle. If you see the silhouette in the screenshot below, youve found Zeraora!
If you dont find Zeraora in any of the battles that are currently active in your Wild Area, remember that you can cause more battles to appear by completing all of the battles that are currently active.
Keep in mind, you cant catch any of the Zeraora you defeat in these battles, but you will earn some in-game items if you win.

How To Transfer Mew From Older Games Using Pokmon Home
If you dont want to purchase a Poké Ball Plus, you can still get Mew as long as youve got one in a Nintendo 3DS game. For this, youll need the Premium version of Pokémon Home as well as a stored Mew in the Pokémon Bank.
Before Pokémon Home came along, the Pokémon Bank was a similar service that let you store Pokémon online. It worked with the Nintendo 3DS generation of games including Sun & Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, as well as 3DS Virtual Console versions of Gold, Silver, Red, Blue, and Yellow. So long as you caught a Mew in one of those games, you can transfer it to your Pokémon Bank account.

Additionally, after the first 1 million milestone is reached, players will get 1 piece of Armorite Ore for every 100,000 Trainers that take down Zeraora! The maximum number of Armorite Ore we can get will be limited to 10. This means that all players need to band together to not only hit 1 million, but aim for 2 million after as well!
