You could also go for Bite, with;4 DPT;and 2 EPT,;making Gyarados an aggressive Dark attacker. It is worse against Giratina, however, and with it Gyarados becomes even slower. Waterfall is also not a bad move, and is better against Steel and Fairy Pokemon, but there are generally many superior Water-type attackers to choose from.

There are two different movesets that most players will use for Gyarados in competitive battles. But in reality, most trainers will only use one of these movesets.

Great League: Waterfall, Aqua Tail, Crunch

Almost nobody uses Gyarados in the Great League. Even with the addition of Aqua Tail from Magikarp Community Day, Gyarados doesnt stand a chance against the top-tier Pokemon like Azumarill, Umbreon, and Defense Deoxys.

Master &Ultra Leagues: Dragon Breath, Aqua Tail, Crunch

This is where Aqua Tail Gyarados starts to matter. Gyarados is much better in the Ultra League than it is in Master League. And the Premier Cups exclusion of Legendaries only helps. Either way its one of the best Water-type Pokemon in both leagues and its fast move, Dragon Breath, is a great tool for taking on Dragons.

Pokemon Strong Against Electric

Gyarados is 4x weak to Electric-type Pokemon like Zapdos and Regieleki. Therefore, teaming it up with Pokemon strong against Electric-types will help Gyarados take the stage and have an active role.

Additonally, it is best to leave the Dynamaxing to Gyarados and choose Pokemon that can be used without Dynamaxing.

Armored Mewtwo Weaknesses And Counters

Despite its appearance, Armored Mewtwo is still a pure Psychic type, which means its vulnerable to the same kinds of Pokemon as a regular Mewtwo. Ghost, Bug, and Dark types in particular have an advantage over it in battle, so youll want to fill your team with Pokemon of those types before heading into the Raid.

Your best choices when facing Armored Mewtwo will be other Legendary Pokemon such as Darkrai and Origin Forme Giratina. Hydregion, Weavile, and Gengar can all dish out super-effective damage against Armored Mewtwo as well. However, Gengar will take super-effective damage in return due to its Poison typing, so it may not last very long. Scizor is another solid choice; it can deal super-effective damage with Bug moves, while its Steel typing will help insulate it from Mewtwos Psychic attacks.

With PvP Trainer Battles, Niantic also introduced secondary Charge Moves. You can buy them with Stardust and Candy, and TM them to whatever it is you need. So, what do you need? Typically, variety. If the best Charge Move is a full bar, get a secondary that’s multi-bar. If there are two possible types for the Charged move, get both. For example, a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball or Psystrike is incredible, but one with both? Gamebreaker! However, adding a second Charge Move is expensive so make sure there is a good secondary move before spending on this upgrade.

Palkia Best Counters And Weaknesses

Palkias water- and dragon-typing give it only two weaknesses: dragon and fairy-types. Use any of these Palkia best counters and weaknesses to take it down:

• Rayquaza with Dragon Tail and Outrage
• Salamence with Dragon Tail and Outrage
• Dragonite with Dragon Tail and Outrage or Draco Meteor
• Gardevoir with Charm and Dazzling Gleam

Palkia is tricky because if the one youre raiding against has Draco Meteor, your dragon-types will die quickly. Pay attention to the recommended team that the game gives you. If you see fairy- and steel-types in your recommended party, consider putting the bulk of your dragons on the bench this time.

Remember that Cloudy weather boosts fairy-type moves and windy weather boosts dragon-type moves.
