Mcdonalds Pokemon Cards Price Update 03/03/21
Full boxes have started to rise again, with an auction coming in at around $800. Full master sets are still hovering around the $200 mark.
Astonishingly, the valuable Holo Pikachu card seems to have started to go back up in price with a recent auction finishing for exactly $50 and many others sitting around $40-$45. The three Kanto starters also look like they may have started to rise again, a recent Holo Charmander finished for $25, and another for over $15. Bulbasaur auctions have finished for $10+ over the last 24 hours and Squirtle between $12-$17.
Some of the less desirable/more common holo cards arent going up however and can now be picked up for around $1.00-$1.50. $3-$4 is still the average for these cards though, so if you have a few, now could be the time to sell before they drop any lower.
Mcdonalds Pokemon Cards Price Update 02/21/21
Prices of full boxes have started to come down, with a recent auction ending for $550. Complete master sets can be picked up for around the $200 mark now.

It looks like the mad rush may now be coming to an end!

Holographic Shadowless Blastoise: $2475
Out of the three final-evolution Kanto starters, it’s Blastoise who has the least valuable Shadowless holographic card, reaching heights of $2475 on Pokemon Prices. We say “least valuable”, but that’s still a lot of money for just the one card, and its hardly far behind its sibling Venusaur.
That’s if Blastoise is still in mint condition, of course, which is a big ask considering these cards are over 20 years old. Carrying the powerful Water-type move Hydro Pump, this version of Blastoise was a pretty impressive card to carry in your deck back in the day, but at this point its still a solid collectible card.

What Are The McDonalds Pokémon Cards?
Each Happy Meal comes with a pack of four cards, each depicting one of the 25 starter Pokémon found throughout the series’ history and printed with a 25th Anniversary logo. However, as these cards are available in both normal and foil versions, the total number of Pokémon cards needed to collect the entire set is 50.
The full list of cards are:
It’s worth noting that these cards aren’t the same as the jumbo-sized First Partners series cards that are also being released to celebrate the 25th Anniversary. Those cards will be released in monthly batches, starting with the Sword and Shield starters in March, and ending with the Red and Blue starters in October.
How To Get The McDonalds Pokémon Cards
This is where it gets a bit tricky. In theory, the pack of four cards should be given away with each Happy Meal, just like the usual free toy. Currently, the promotion is limited to The United States, though a Canadian equivalent is rumored. If you were curious, here in the UK we have delightful wildlife-themed Top Trumps cards as our current promotion, which I suppose is essentially what Pokémon is?
McDonalds nor the Pokémon Company have given an end date for the promotion.
Will The Cards Be Worth Anything?
Please shop responsibly. Don’t go buying out a McDonalds’ entire stock just for yourself, as some people have been caught doing, and certainly don’t risk COVID just for the sake of some trading cards.

Mcdonalds Pokemon Cards Price Update 02/15/21
While the complete master sets and full boxes of cards are still selling similar prices, the individual cards have unsurprisingly started to drop. Pikachu, which was selling for around $80-$100 when the promotion kicked off, can now be picked up for under $50. Squirtle is still the most popular Kanto starter, selling for around $20, with Bulbasaur and Charmander in the $10-$20. A lot of the other holo starter cards can be picked up for around $5-$10 now.
This is all to be expected after The Pokemon Company said the cards were being reprinted and the scarcity levels start to drop.

Which Mcdonalds Cards Are The Most Valuable
The Pikachu holo variant is the most valuable card, which doesnt come as a surprise. Pikachu has been the face of Pokemon for all of its 25 years and remains one of the most popular to this day. The second most valuable are the Kanto starters, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. Sadly, the set doesn’t include a holographic Charizard card. In general, the holographic variants are more valuable than their normal counterparts for all the Pokemon. After the Kanto starters, though, value starts to dwindle. Full sets have sold from $50 to several hundred dollars, but many of the individual cards are available for around $2.
Currently, thePokemon cards are still available at McDonalds or through sites like Ebay and Mercari. When speaking of monetary value, it would be a drastic understatement to call sales inconsistent. One holographic Pikachu card supposedly sold for an exorbitant amount on Ebay, but the exact same card can also be purchased for less than $5. At first, Pikachu cards were regularly selling for $80, which is a solid profit depending on the initial time and price sink, but the market has now become oversaturated with people trying to sell them and value seems to be decreasing every day.;In other words, if the price is depreciating so quickly, fans who haven’t already cashed in and out aren’t likely to do so anymore.

Southern Islands Reverse Holo Mew: $200
When the second Pokemon movie was released in Japan, the makers of the Trading Card Game decided to release a special edition set of cards to mark this occasion. The Southern Islands card series was born, featuring just two sets of nine cards apiece that were unique to any other set in the game.
Full sets of these cards can sell for a lot, but the absolute highest value is undoubtedly the Southern Islands Mew, which has a rare reverse foil treatment where the frame around the art is the only part thats shiny. Troll and Toad is currently selling copies for just over $200 right now, making it even more valuable than the elusive and stylish Ancient Mew mentioned earlier.
