These are the second-rarest cards from the 2021 McDonalds promotion.
This particular Bulbasaur card featuring the classic Grass-type starter Pokemon was originally released as part of the Shining Legends Pokemon TCG expansion back in 2017. In 2019, the card appeared in General Mills Lets Go, Kanto! Mini Packs found in General Mills cereal boxes exclusively at Walmart. The card was also part of a McDonalds promotion in France in 2019, also with holographic and non-holographic variations.
Now, the Bulbasaur card dons the Pokemon 25th-anniversary logo and unique icon as part of the 2021 McDonalds promotion. Today, the Shining Legends Bulbasaur card goes for around $2-5, while the 2021 McDonalds non-holographic Bulbasaur resells for around $3-5, and the holographic version goes for $15-20.

Pokemon Cards Now Available At Mcdonald’s In The Uk
Earlier this year, Pokemon fans in North America had the opportunity to snag packs of cards in Happy Meals at participating McDonald’s locations, and now UK locations are getting the same promotion. The start of the North American campaign was a bit of a mess, with entire cases of the cards going up on eBay just hours after release. Prior to the campaign’s start, the UK McDonald’s branch put strict guidelines in place, only allowing customers to get the cards with a Happy Meal purchase. This is clearly an attempt to avoid the same problems, but it will be interesting to see whether or not it has an impact!
Sometimes, Pokemon Happy Meal promotions will differ by region, but that isn’t the case this time. For those unfamiliar with the promotion, there are 25 unique Pokemon cards to collect. The cards feature all 24 of the starters from the various Pokemon generations, as well as Pikachu. All of the cards are re-releases from previous sets, but they feature new numbering as well as Pokemon’s 25th anniversary logo. Cards come in blind packs of four, alongside an extra item, such as a card frame, card box, or stickers. Each pack has one foil variant, so there are technically 50 cards to collect for those that want one of each kind.

McDonalds has offered Pokémon cards as Happy Meal toys in the past. Every year from 2011 to 2019, they had a special collection of 12 cards. Each Happy Meal included one card, so collectors would have to eat a lot of McDonalds and get relatively lucky to collect them all.
Previous collections often included starters for the current generation along with other relevant Pokémon during the specific year of the collection. It seems fitting for the 25th Anniversary that they have a collection of 25 cards that include starters from every generation.

Pokemon TCG cards had a major comeback in 2020 that has extended into the new year. Collectors have been digging through their old cards in hope of finding one or two that have appreciated in valueand some of them have. Charizard cards and older cards that dont have a drop-shadow behind the image of the Pokemon have become especially lucrative, some going for thousands of dollars. First-edition holographic Charizard cards have sold for the insane price of $300,000. Stores selling out of Pokemon TCG cards resulted in the manufacturer upping the production numbers to make sure fans were able to have access to the packs they want.
The Pokemon TCG resurgence inspired YouTube and Twitch trends of people opening boxes of their old collections to sift through, and prices for many cards skyrocketed. Now that Pokemon cards are coming back, many collectors feel theres a chance the 25th anniversary McDonalds set might be worth something one day, too. Some of the cards have already sold for exorbitant prices.
The McDonalds set includes 50 cards, with half being regular images and the other featuring a holographic foil. No official information has been released about which cards are the rarest, but it seems the holographic cards are a little bit harder to track down. Each Happy Meal contains a pack of four cards, each bearing the Pokemon 25th Anniversary logo.

McDonalds Pokémon UK Happy Meals will include the 25th anniversary trading cards that experienced widespread sellouts in the US earlier this year.
Thats according to an internal staff memo seen by VGC , which confirms that each Happy Meal will include four cards and one surprise gift .
While the memo doesnt mention an extended card collection, its likely McDonalds will offer the same 50 cards included in the US promotion.
The US cards featured 25 designs covering all the Starter Pokémon from the history of the games series, plus another 25 foil variants. Each of the cards has a 25th Anniversary logo on them.
McDonalds will be selling Pokémon Happy Meals in the UK from May 19. As first revealed by VGC last weekend, McDonalds UK is set to restrict sales of the meals, following widespread shortages in the US earlier this year, as scalpers targeted the items for re-sale.
McDonalds restaurants in the US had to place restrictions on Happy Meal sales after they were targeted by scalpers reselling the cards on auction sites for hundreds of dollars.
According to social media reports, some collectors were even buying the Happy Meals in mass numbers, in the hopes of obtaining new cards, and throwing out the food.
McDonalds eventually released a statement acknowledging the extreme lengths customers were going to in order to obtain the Happy Meal cards.

McDonalds has had to make unscheduled changes for restaurants in the UK in relation to campaign dates, serving hours, menu items and/or advertised services applying generally to, have been made in response to external adverse-events:
