Step 1: Catch a male Horsea / Seadra. Step 2: Level it up until it learns Dragon Dance. I recommend using Horsea, not Seadra, as it learns it 10 levels earlier in Gen IV. Step 3: Catch a female Bagon. Step 4: Put the two in the dragon love nest. Step 5: Keep breeding until you get the Bagon you want discard the rest.

The only way to get a Salamence in Pokemon Emerald is by Trade, an Action Replay Code, or Evolve Shelgon. Shelgon cannot be found in Pokemon Emerald, only Bagon. Bagon can be found in Meteor Falls in the chamber with a little water in it.

How To Reach The Grand Underground

To reach the Grand Underground, you will first need the Explorer Kit. You will get the Explorer Kit in the Underground Mans House, which is right next to Pokémon Center in Eterna City as shown in the picture below. Enter the house and talk to the Underground Man to receive the Explorer Kit. The Explorer Kit will be in your Bags Key Items pocket.

How Do You Attract Bagon

For one, Bagon seems to prefer wind weather so players will have a much better chance of finding one if winds speeds pick up in your area. Just go outside and use a lure in order to see if a Bagon will show up. Another good idea is to wait until Niantic does another big community event featuring the Pokemon.

Catching Bagon Earlier In The Game

This is one of the only methods to obtain a strong Dragon type early in the game without cheating or hacks.

After the events in Fallarbor Town, you will be able to access Meteor Falls.

Enter Meteor Falls and cross the bridge. You will not be able to use surf or waterfall at this point of the game to access the areas where Bagon are normally found.

This is when it gets tricky. Right after you cross the bridge, go to the upper right hand corner of the square of land youre on.

Without moving from this square, rotate your player around and around without ever moving from the square.

It will take a really long time if youre not lucky, but eventually you should encounter a Bagon between level 6 and 12. Bagon will eventually evolve into Salamence and having one early in the game will no doubt give you a leg-up throughout the game.

You get Bagon in Meteor falls in a small room in the cave way in the back. However, you can only get to it once you have the HM waterfall.

The green-hued Shiny Bagon is an elusive catch, similar to many Shiny Pokemon currently available in the game. Standard Shiny Pokemon encounter rates stand at one in 500 encounters, a very small 0.2% of appearance. While this rate does fluctuate depending on the Pokemon, there are few opportunities to guarantee catching a Shiny with the exceptions of certain events and Special Research Tasks.
