Best Battle Tower Team

Salamence is one of the more threatening sweepers to use in the metagame thanks to its great offensive stats, and its ability to use other Pokemon as setup fodder. Read on to find out the best build, the best moveset, basic information, stats and recommended partners for Salamence in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl .

Is Salamence A Good Pokemon

Salamence is a good Pokémon, but its movesets are arguably garbage. It will successfully land in any high level team, but you will have to use TMs to get a really good Salamence. When you break it down, Salamence has really lost the moveset lottery: no Flying charge move = less utility than a Hurricane Dragonite.

Dragons And Not Dragons

Which Pokemon are Dragons and which ones arent has always been somewhat confusing in the Pokemon world. Pokemon that traditionally look like Dragons arent and some that look like anything but a dragon are.

This meme points out some of the worst offenders for both sides. Charizard obviously makes the list as a not Dragon, but so does Gyrados and Aerodactyl. On the Dragon side are oddities like the bird/cloud Altaria or the bug-looking Vibrava. The worst by far has to be the Alolan Exeggutor.

How To Catch Salamence In Pokemon Go

While Bagons spawns are relatively rare in Pokemon Go, you were able to find Bagon in one-star raids, but only during the Hoenn Collection Challenge event. Salamence itself does not appear in the wild, it can appear in 4-star raids in Pokemon Gyms. Keep your eyes peeled for a Salamence raid and gather some friends to capture one yourself. The easiest way to obtain a Salamence in Pokemon Go is to either catch it from raids or locate a Bagon in the wild. Bagons spawns are supposedly higher during windy weather, but it is still quite rare. If you manage to find a Bagon, keep it as your buddy in order to collect enough candies to evolve it. Bagon needs 25 candies to evolve into Shelgon and 100 to evolve into Salamence.

Top Moves For Salamence In Pokemon Go: Dragon

Salamence Art

Although Salamence has a solid variety of different move types in Pokemon GO, utilizing its Dragon-type moves will provide it with a Same Type Attack Bonus , improving on the already impressive damage output that these moves provide. Without a doubt, Dragon Tail beats out Bite and Fire Fang as Salamence’s Fast Move of choice. However, picking a Charge Move provides a little more freedom on behalf of the trainer.

Draco Meteor is preferred if trainers want to go all-out on damage. However, Pokemon GO players with an available Elite Charged TM may want to give Outrage a try first. It deals less damage, but requires less energy while still dealing a solid 110 damage and providing a damage boost from STAB for Salamence.

Since this particular Pokemon in Pokemon GO doesn’t have great defensive or health stats, and it may take too long in more than a few situations to charge Draco Meteor. Meanwhile, Outrage provides great damage at a much more economic energy cost. It’s up to trainers to decide which move they prefer, as they can’t go wrong with either as far as offensive potential goes.

How To Find & Catch Bagon In Pokmon Shining Pearl

In the wild, Bagon can be found on Route 212 where the fog is thick outside of Celestic Town. By using the Poké Radar, players can find Bagon, and Shiny Bagon, with relative ease. Bagon is unobtainable without the Poké Radar and can be found at a level relative to that of other wild Pokémon in the area.

Fortunately, quality-of-life upgrades to Pokémon BDSP allow trainers to find Bagon in the Grand Underground as well. Bagon can be found in the Stargleam Cavern, Spacious Cave, and Dazzling Cave after obtaining the National Dex in Pokémon Shining Pearl. Players will need to place plenty of dragon statues in a secret base to increase the chances of finding Bagon in any of these three caves. Bagon can also be found above level 50 in the Grand Underground, and players can also find its immediate evolved form, Shelgon. Bagon normally begins evolving into Shelgon at level 30, and Shelgon into Salamence at level 50, making searching the Grand Underground the easiest method for grabbing all three of these Dragon-types in Pokémon Shining Pearl.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are available now for the Nintendo Switch.

The Charged Attacks Of Salamence

How to Evolve Bagon | Salamence | Pokemon Sword & Shield
Attack Name
110 28

Before analyzing the potential of each charged attack, it should be mentioned that Outrage was only available during a few specific events, and is not normally attainable. Though, with that said, it’s arguably the weakest out of all the possible charged attacks, and would only be useful to trainers who prefer minimal charging over other traits.

However, the other 3 charged attacks all stack up pretty evenly. Fire Blast and Hydro Pump are both excellent moves, though players should only choose either of them based on the coverage one needs in battle–Fire Blast if one doesn’t have a Fire-type pokemon or Hydro Pump if they are lacking a Water-type pokemon respectively.

Overall, due to higher damage, DPS, and gaining a STAB bonus , Draco Meteor is objectively the most powerful out of all of Salamence’s Pokemon GO charged attacks. Just be sure to have a counter ready for Fairy-types!

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS.

Who Is Stronger Dragonite Or Salamence

On defense, Dragonite has the superior damage output for the same reason, it is more durable. And in combination with a higher max CP, Dragonite will also sit higher in gyms. Overall, Salamence can take out a defender a little faster than Dragonite, but Dragonite will deal a little more damage in the long run.

Pokmon Bdsp: How To Find Bagon

Salamence

One of the Pokémon that players can get in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is Bagon, a Dragon-type and the pre-evolved form of Salamence.

One of the Pokémon that players can get in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl is Bagon, a Dragon-type and the pre-evolved form of Salamence. Bagon and its evolved forms were originally introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, and Salamance quickly became a staple Pokémon to use in many competitive and casual teams. Bagon is once more available for trainers to capture in the Sinnoh region, but it happens to be one of the many exclusive Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Bagon’s final evolved form, Salamence, is a Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon that has an identical stat total to that of Dragonite. While the two may be the same type of Pokémon, Salamence has a much higher maximum Speed stat than Dragonite, at the cost of Defense and Special Defense stats. Additionally, Salamence has a higher Special Attack stat than Dragonite, but the two share nearly identical HP and Attack stats with less than five points of difference. For players who are looking for a highly competitive alternative to Garchomp, another speedy Dragon-type, Salamence is an excellent choice to include when building the best competitive team in Pokémon BDSP.

Q Which Is Better: Hydreigon Or Salamence

This is a question that is difficult to pin down. It is much more subjective, but the bottom line is if mega-evolutions are available, Salamence is better. In brackets where mega evolution is not available, Hydreigon is better. This is mostly because of the Pokemon you would face in competitive battles. For Hydreigon, much of what it was bad against went away in Pokemon Sword and Shield. In terms of base stats, they are very comparable, but Hydreigon has a better special attack while Salamence has a better physical attack. It is very subjective, and for casual play either will play their role very well.

Pokemon Go: How To Beat Salamence Counters + Weaknesses

Ever since it was launched in 2016, Pokémon Gos popularity has only increased, mostly owing to good reasons but sometimes owing to infamous incidents as well. The fact remains, it is one of the most trending games all over the world and every player wants to collect as many Pokémon as possible. Well to all such Pokémon trainers, we bring this guide which might make your life as a trainer a bit easier.

Who is Salamence?

  • Salamence is a Dragon and Flying-type Pokemon, who youll take on the Salamence Raid in Pokemon GO. Defeating it will give you an opportunity to catch this exceptionally powerful beast and rule the world of Pokemon Go. But before you imagine a crown on your head, let us tell you that this fight is incredibly hard.
  • Salamence was introduced in Generation III, where many trainers were looking for a Bagon to evolve into Salamence. Its featured as one of the most powerful Pokemon in almost every Pokemon game including Pokemon GO. And again, that means it is going to be a tough fight and youll need strong Pokemon for that purpose.
  • It is said that this Raid is next to impossible to beat solo but with two people it drops to medium difficulty. So, keeping that in mind, dont shy away to call a buddy or two to help you out. In fact, its probably best to bring two teammates when taking on this Raid. If you have a really strong Pokemon or a strong Ice-type Pokemon, then things could be a bit easier.

Search For Bagon On Windy Days

Thanks to the Dynamic Weather System in Pokemon GO, different types of Pokemon show up depending on what the outside looks like in the real world. Catching a Bagon becomes much easier when players search during the right weather conditions to increase their spawn rate. Dragon types like Bagon appear more often in windy weather.

EVOLVING BAGON INTO SALAMENCE IN POKEMON GO! THE BEST DRAGON TYPE POKEMON!

This meme points out the oddity that Dragonite a dragon both in appearance and typing, cant learn the move Dragon Dance. This doesnt mean that he cant learn it naturally and must be taught it, this means Dragonite cant learn the move period.

Its strange to think that Dragonite was once a powerhouse among Dragons, but over time has seen its power significantly wane. At least Dragonites still a dragon and hasnt been changed to a Normal typing.

Check It With A Faster Attacker

Salamence relies on Speed boosts from Dragon Dance to become the overwhelming threat it’s well known for but even with its respectable Speed, there are faster Pokemon that can take advantage of its weaker defensive stats and force it out or risk getting knocked out.

Special Attacking variants, in particular, struggle against faster attackers since it lacks any way to boost its Speed stat.

Getting A Salamence Starts With Catching Bagon

The days of getting a Salamence in Tier 4 raids are unfortunately over, so Pokemon Go players will need to catch a Bagon and fully evolve it up into this impressive Dragon Pokemon. Bagon are incredibly rare spawns in the game as well, so players will need to do all they can to increase the chances of finding one.

The Fast Attacks Of Salamence

Attack Name
12 13

Unlike many other pocket monsters in Pokemon GO, Salamence has access to 3 great Fast Attacks, so whichever ones the player picks, there won’t ever be an awful choice–just less ideal ones. Bite, by looking at the stats, is the weakest out of the 3, though can be a decent move if players have no Dark-type pokemon to take down Psychic-type opponents.

Though, besides that factor, both Dragon Tail and Fire Fang are most often considered better choices. Fire Fang is useful in case players go up against Fairy-types who are immune to Dragon-type attacks, however, in every other case, Dragon Tail is superior for higher base damage, higher DPS, and also gaining a Same Type Attack Bonus from being the same type as Salamence in Pokemon GO.
