Almost all Lapras you see running around will invariably have Freeze-Dry. For this reason, we recommend being very careful with the water types on your team. Quagsire, Gastrodon, Seismitoad, and Gyarados in particular have to watch out, as Freeze-Dry will deal 4x damage to them.

How To Find Gigantamax Lapras In Pokemon Shield

All Gigantamax Pokemon have a chance of appearing in rare dens in the Wild Area. These dens have a beam of purple swirling light coming out of them.

If youre playing Pokemon Shield, you will find Gigantamax Lapras in one of these rare den raids. Normally it has a low chance of appearing only in certain dens, but right now it has an increased chance of appearing in all rare dens due to a limited-time event.

Look around the wild area for the rare dens with the purple beam of light. These dens may contain Lapras. If youre having trouble finding one, you can purchase a Wishing Piece from a Watt Trader to try and spawn one in an empty den.

Once youve found a den with a Gigantamax Lapras silhouette, this means you will have to chance to battle it and catch it.

If youre playing Pokemon Sword, Gigantamax Lapras wont appear in rare dens. Instead, youll have to join another players raid battle through Y-Comm if you have Nintendo Switch Online.

Press the Y button to access the Y-Comm menu, then press + to connect to the Internet. Then, search through the stamps on the right side for the silhouette of Gigantamax Lapras.

You may need to refresh the stamps often because all types of player communications will show up, not just raids. Once you see a player seeking participants for a Lapras raid, join it quickly before it fills up.

What Is The Biggest Weakness Of Lapras In Pokemon Go

This one is more debatable than most. Electric and Fighting-Types will offer you the easiest overall Type most of the time. Grass-Types theoretically can outperform them due to resisting Water-Type attacks, but suffer heavily at the hands of Ice-Type ones as well, negating their advantage.

Meanwhile, Rock-Types just kinda struggle here with no qualities to redeem them above the others.

Lapras Raid Counters Guide

Lapras is Tier 3 Raid Boss in Pokémon GO, with a Boss CP of 23476. It is weak to Electric, Rock, Fighting and Grass, but depending on what moves Lapras has, it can do some serious damage to some of those counters.

Lapras can be caught in the following CP ranges:

• 1435 1509 CP
• 1794 1886 CP

Lapras is soloable, but only with top, high level counters, so keep this in mind! It is a very tanky defender, so groups of 2-4 are recommended depending on player levels and available counters.

With a variety of Ice and Water type moves, Lapras can be tricky to counter. When going into the raid, have a look what your recommended Pokémon are before you pick your team. If it is suggesting Rock types it is probably safe to assume it doesnt have Water type moves. If no Grass types are appearing, it more than likely comes armed with Ice type moves that will make quick work of your Grass types.

The best attackers to fight Lapras that are not weak to any of its moves, are strong Fighting types like Machamp and Lucario, or electric type attackers with great DPS output such as Raikou, Magnezone, Electivire, and Zapdos.

Other potential options include Heracross, Poliwrath with double fighting type moves and Lanturn with double electric type attacks, but they are way below in terms of viability with respect to the three mentioned at the beginning.
