Do Shiny Pokmon Perform Differently In Pokmon Go
Nope. Shiny Pokémon have the same stats as non-Shiny variants. Which is to say, a range. You can catch a perfect Shiny Magikarp, but you can also catch a not-so-great one. They also have no special movesets or powers of any kind. Aside from looking different, theyre exactly the same.
However, Community Day is the easiest time to catch Shiny Pokémon. If evolved during the event window, Shiny Pokémon will get the exclusive move just like the normal featured Pokémon, so a lot of Shiny Pokémon do have that exclusive move.

Since its release, the Pokémon franchise has been around for 26 years, amassing hundreds of creatures. While it’s no secret for Pokémon fans that there are 151 monsters in Generation I, keeping track of the latest count can be overwhelming.
So, how many Pokemon are there in total? Let’s find out!
Legendaries In Both Versions
The majority of the Legendary Pokémon can be found in either version of the game and will either be hidden around the overworld, underground, or in the Ramanas Park area, which is new to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Ramanas Park is where all of the version-exclusive Legendary Pokémon will be found and can only be accessed after beating the main game.

Where To Find Regigigas In Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Like in previous games, players can catch Regigigas inside Snowpoint Temple, which is located in the Alabaster Icelands area. To do so, they’ll first need to initiate story mission #24 by beating the main story and speaking with Cogita. With that out of the way, they should make their way to the temple’s lower levels. There, the Icicle, Iron, and Stone plates will open up a large stone door that grants access to Regigigas’ chamber.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
It’s unclear whether Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will include Pokemon introduced after Generation IV. It has been confirmed that the entire Sinnoh Pokedex will be included, so we know that for certain. However, we don’t know if that means the Diamond & Pearl version of the Sinnoh ‘Dex or the Platinum version.
The Sinnoh Pokedex in Platinum contains 210 Pokemon, with a mix of Pokemon from Gen I, II, III, and IV. There are some quirks to this total, though.
In Diamond & Pearl, many Pokemon are not present in the Pokedex. The original Sinnoh ‘Dex added up to 151 total Pokemon, and that number would be bumped up to 210 in Platinum. Here are the Pokemon that you can obtain in Diamond & Pearl but aren’t in the regional Sinnoh Pokedex:
- Gligar and Gliscor
In Platinum, most of these Pokemon would be added, though it still omits seven: Heatran, Regigigas, Cresselia, Phione, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus. However, it also adds eight previous-generation Pokemon: Scyther and Scizor, Houndour and Houndoom, Swablu and Altaria, Tropius, and Absol.
All of this adds up to a net total of 210 in the Sinnoh Pokedex, though there were seven Gen IV Pokemon omitted, meaning there should be 217 if those are included. At the time, the full National Pokedex went up to Arceus, who is #493, meaning there were 493 Pokemon available.

The 6 kinds of Pokémon species are Starter Pokémon, Fossil Pokémon, Baby Pokémon, Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, and Ultra Beasts.
A Starter Pokémon is the first Pokémon that is available to players in main series games. As a general rule, there are 3 per generation, with the only exception being Generation I which had 2 extra. There are 26 Starter Pokémon.
A Fossil Pokémon is an ancient Pokémon that is only obtained by resurrecting fossils and their evolutions. There are 26 Fossil Pokémon.
A Baby Pokémon is, as the name suggests, an infant Pokémon that can only be obtained by breeding their evolved forms. There are 19 Baby Pokémon.
A Legendary Pokémon is associated with the legends and lore of Pokémon. There are 59 Legendary Pokémon.
A Mythical Pokémon is a Pokémon that can only be obtained through distribution events. There are 22 Mythical Pokémon.
Finally, an Ultra Beast is a Pokémon from another dimension. It is the rarest species of Pokémon, with only 11 in total.

How To Capture The Legendary Pokmon In ‘legends: Arceus’
Before you attempt to capture these Pokémon, you should know that it’s actually not possible to do so until you’ve beat the game meaning that you’ll have to grind through the Legends: Arceus main storyline before you can throw a PokéBall at any of the aforementioned Legendary Pokémon.
That being said, the incentive to go back and hunt down these Pokémon after the game is finished should give you the motivation to finish it.
This also means that you shouldn’t stress during your initial playthrough about catching these Pokémon. You won’t have missed your chance at some specific point during the story to add these Pokémon to your roster, so don’t fret during your completion of the main story.
You’ll only be allowed to capture either Dialga or Palkia, depending on whether you chose to join the Diamond or Pearl clan. You’ll battle the Origin form of Dialga if you choose the Diamond clan and the non-origin form of Palkia . You can only keep the non-origin form of these Legendary Pokémon, so choose carefully when selecting your clan.
You can capture Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf by completing the “Researcher of Myths” request following at Survey HQ, while Heatran, Cresselia, and Regigigas won’t be available to capture until after that quest is complete. There are three different quests to capture these: “The Plate of Firespit Island,” “The Plate of Moonview Arena,” and “The Plate of Snowpelt Temple.” Complete each of these requests to capture these three Legendaries.

How Many Pokmon Are There In 2021
You might find yourself wondering how many Pokémon there are in the franchises eight generations, and were here to tell you
When it comes to Pokémon, its often said that youve gotta catch em all. But establishing just how many Pokémon there are to catch can be tricky. Created over 25 years ago, and spanning eight generations, the pocket monsters just keep on coming. New creatures, new types, and new quirks are added to the franchise with each generation, not only adding more Pokémon for you to do battle with, but also add to your Pokédex .
While we think Pokémon is at its best in the trading card game, where you can spread your creatures across the tabletop, and gaze in wonder at the rare Pokémon card that youve just found in a booster pack, its the franchises mainline videogames that herald each new generation. The number of new creatures added in each changes with each new set, but its not unusual for a generation to add anywhere between 70 to 150 of the cuties. And with eight generations, the total number of Pokémon is now pretty high.
So, lets cut to it. There are 898 Pokémon. Thats the simplest and strictest answer, counting only distinct species of Pokémon. Within those, 59 are Legendary.
Count these hard cases, and youll find well over 1000 Pokémon. But we think its best to stick to the basic count, and see these alternate forms as just what they are variations, rather than entirely separate species.

Total: A Complete Pokedex With Forms
So, if we really want to count how many total Pokemon there are in terms of how many Pokemon have been created, we’ll have to consider different variants, Mega Evolutions, and more.
> Mega Evolution?
There are a few things that can complicate the answer to this question, though. Mega Evolutions are an enhanced version of a Pokemon and not technically a new Pokemon, but they are treated as such in many ways.
They look different, have different stats, often have different types and abilities, and are sometimes spoken of like they are their own species .
However, the change is only temporary and only occurs within battle.
> Regional Variants?
Another wrinkle is regional variants. While Kantonian and Galarian Meowth are both Meowth, they are different Pokemon, have different types and appearances, and evolve into different Pokemon.
But, Vivillon and Shellos both have different forms based on where they are caught , and these forms don’t count as regional variants .
> Purely Cosmetic Forms?
Speaking of appearance changes some Pokemon just look different based on various factors.
We’ve mentioned Vivillon, but its Gen VI friend Florges is another example, with different colors based on what flower its pre-evolution, Flabébé, formed an attachment with. Do these different forms that have no function beyond appearance make for a different Pokemon? Probably not, but it’s something to consider.

The Advantages Of Having A Mega
So youve got an amazing mega evolution and the clock is ticking what now?
The most obvious benefit of mega evolving Pokémon is in battle, where they get boosted attacks and combat power .
But, in many cases, mega evolving a Pokémon can also change its type, which can give you a sly advantage in battle.
For example, Mega Charizard X is a fire and dragon type Pokémon. But the creature it evolved from, Charizard, is a fire and flying type.
To understand how Pokémon types can give you the upper hand in battle, check out our guide.
One thing that doesnt change about mega evolved Pokémon is their fast and charged attacks. These remain exactly the same.
Also remember that mega evolved Pokémon cant be powered up. To make your mega evolution kick ass, make sure to pump up the Pokémon it evolves from before squandering your mega energy.

Where To Find Tornadus In Pokemon Legends: Arceus
To catch Tornadus, players will need to have caught or defeated Giratina at the Turnback Cave. Doing so will unlock request #94, which is handed out by Cogita. After accepting the request, players should make their way to the Bonechill Wastes area of the Alabaster Icelands. For Tornadus to appear, there needs to be a blizzard taking place, so if the weather is mild, players should return to the nearest base camp and rest until it starts to snow heavily. When Tornadus finally appears, players will need to hit it with a Poke Ball to lower its shield and then quickly throw in a Pokemon to engage it in battle before it has a chance to recover. To switch between the Pokemon’s Incarnate and Therian forms, players will need the Reveal Glass, which is obtained by returning to Cogita after catching Enamorus and completing ten or more of its Pokedex research tasks.

How Legendary Pokmon & Mythical Pokmon Are Different
Legendary Pokémon and Mythical Pokémon might seem similar, but one type requires a lot more real-life legwork on the part of the player.
Legendary Pokémon are some of the most feared and powerful beings in the Pokémon world. There is a second classification of Legendary Pokémon, too, called Mythical Pokémon, and the main difference between the two involves how they are encountered. The discussion of Mythical vs. Legendary Pokémon has softened over the years, as it’s far easier to acquire the former group than it was in the pre-Nintendo DS era.
The original crop of Legendary Pokémon appeared in Pokémon Red and Blue, which included Mewtwo and the three Legendary Birds. It quickly became common knowledge that there was another Legendary Pokémon in the game’s files, called Mew. Since Mew could not be obtained normally in-game, its discovery led to fake methods for acquiring Mew spreading online – rumors and false secrets fondly remembered by old-school fans. The first Pokémon movie involved the Legendary vs. Mythical Pokémon battle that fans had been waiting to see, as Mew battled Mewtwo on the big screen.
