How Old Is Serena Pokemon

Must read

She Impersonated Ash Once

Pokemon Theory: How old are Ash and Serena?

Serena is probably closer to Ash than any of his other female companions. It might explain how she could pretend to be him so easily.

In the episode “Battling at Full Volume,” a guitarist named Jimmy challenges Ash to a Pikachu on Pikachu battle. Ash agrees, but catches a cold before the fight. Serena steps in, disguising herself as Ash, and with Pikachu’s help, they beat Jimmy.

Her deception would have worked completely if Team Rocket hadn’t seen through her disguise. Leave it to the only people who’ve known Ash longer than Serena has to not to be fooled.

Put Her Old Skills To Good Use

Although viewers were aware of Serena’s upbringing into Rhyhorn Racing, her companions weren’t yet knowledgeable. Her history paid off since it helped her grow closer to Ash.

After Ash expressed in an interest Rhyhorn Racing, Serena helped train him.

She remembered all of the training her mother put her through. Serena finally realized that her mother was only trying to help, not discourage her. Thanks to Ash, Serena realized that Rhyhorn racing may not be so bad after all.

Given A Formal Invitation

Serena finally manages to catch up with Ash in the sixth episode of the series, “Battling on Thin Ice!” While Ash is unsure of his skills, Serena supports him, no matter what.

After Ash earns the Bug Badge, he takes a moment to speak to Serena again. He asks her where she plans to travel next. She isn’t sure because she was only trying to catch up with Ash. He suggests they travel to Cyllage City together. Clemont and Bonnie agree to Ash’s decision. Serena happily accepts.

Where Is Serena Now

As was commonplace with the Pokémon series, there are very few instances where a character will travel with Ash across multiple regions, with the only exceptions being Brock and Misty. At the end of the Kalos series, Serena decides that she needs some more experiences as a performer and is told to travel to the Hoenn region and take part in their contests. As of now, she is likely still in Hoenn performing in said contests, though considering the current format of Pokémon Journeys, it’s likely that Ash may run into her again sooner rather than later.

Serena Saved Ash’s Things From A Pancham

old blog : Photo

On the same day Serena first witnessed the Kalos Queen, another incident actually happened which caused some chaos for Serena and Ash.

A Pancham caused a scene on stage during the performance, and then later stole both Ash and Clements belongings. Serena, being a moderately good tracker, actually managed to find the pancham who stole the items, and ALSO saw that it was putting on a performance like one would see at a Pokémon Showcase!

She realized that this obviously meant that she was supposed to catch the pancham and have it with her during her upcoming performances, which she proceeded to do! After weakening it with Fennekin, she caught the Pancham and gave it a pair of sunglasses.

After this, Ash and Clements items were recovered, and the Pancham became an important part of Serenas team! Who knew such an important team mate originally started as a delinquent?

She’s Afraid Of Ghosts

Serena’s not scared of Ghost Pokemon. She’s scared of actual ghosts. Several times in the anime, it’s shown that Serena is superstitious when it comes to haunted houses and forests. She’ll let her reason get away from her and speculate wildly about horrible things.

Now, this is something that has never made sense in Pokemon from the very beginning. It’s strange that Ghost Pokemon exist at all. But, since they do, how can you be afraid of ghosts in a world with Ghost Pokemon? The Ghost Pokemon we meet are all friendly, if a bit mischievous.

Pokemon Anime Confirms The Return Of Serena

Pokemon Journeys is ready to make one of its boldest moves yet, and to no one’s surprise, fans are living for it. After all, rumors have floated for a while now suggesting Serena’s return to the anime was imminent. A new report from Japan confirmed that much was true all thanks to a special promo. And of course, the fanbase is losing its mind over the character’s long-awaited comeback.

The update comes from pokeblastnews on Twitter as they got their hands on the Pokemon Journeys promo overseas. It was there the fan page shared the news with others, and as you can see below, the promo shows Serena next to Chloe as the latter begins her quest to conquer contests across the Pokemon Universe.

HERE IT IS! #anipokeIts only a few images but I get the impression Serena has had the biggest character change out of all of Ashs friends and that includes Iris who became champion. Her team is Delphox, Pancham, and Sylveon.

As you can see, Serena looks mature in these photos, so she is no longer the girl we once knew. Several shots from Pokemon Journeys are shown as well featuring Serena, and her short hair suits the girl perfectly. Dressed in a grey hat, Serena looks gorgeous in a black turtleneck top and skirt here. And of course, she is rocking butterfly studs in one of the shots.

Doesnt Want To Catch Em All

The Pokémon series is ultimately about training the best team. Many of Ash’s companions devote their time to improving their skills in battle. Serena’s faced many drastic changes.

At first, Serena believed she had to fulfill her family’s legacy of being a Rhyhorn Racer. Serena tried to become a Pokémon Trainer like Ash. She decided that wasn’t the life she wanted, either. When Serena chose to become a Pokémon Performer, she became happy with her place on the team.

When She Was A Pokemon

POKEMON JOURNEYS ASH’S OLD POKEMON SERENA… INTERESTING…

Serena when she was a Pokemon.

Serena was not always a human, she used to be a Pokemon just like Pikachu. She was a strange little bipedal fox named Braixen. Braixen was a unique specimen, to say the least. Unlike most other Pokemon, she was fascinated by humans and what they do. She was also into Witches and Witchcraft as well, which explains why she keeps a stick in her tail. Braixen wanted to meet and talk to people, though no one really likes furries, except for maybe Bronies, but even then they only like the accursed Ponies. And so, Braixen decided to learn more spells.

Braixen only knew fire spells at the time, so she decided to go to Squidward Community College and get a Masters Degree in Magic and Witchcraft. Afterwards, she used a transformation spell to turn her into the human she is now: Serena.

Her Team Rocket Drama Is Serious Business

In Serenas first official days traveling with Ash and his friends, she actually faced quite a few things that she had never done.

The first, was her very first Pokémon battle! After a few days of racing Rhyhorns and having fun, Ash was actually captured by his longtime rivals, Team Rocket.

Serena helped during the rescue, and commanded her Fennekin to use ember for the first time. Once Ash was saved, she actually gifted him a bag of cookies. This event marks a turn in their relationship, as the last time one of them saved the other it was the opposite. After this, Ash and Serena are pretty even as they have both saved each other!

While this is the first time that Serena faced off against Jesse and James, it is absolutely not the last…

How Old Is Chloe In Journeys

Chloe Cerise is a character appearing in the Pokémon Journeys: The Series. She is the daughter of Professor Cerise and Talia Cerise, and Parker Cerises older sister. She normally attends school in Vermilion City. Although Chloe is 10 years old, she stayed in school, instead of traveling on a Pokémon journey.

Serena’s Mother’s Passion For Rhyhorn Was Crazy

A big part of the reason Serena was so confused about what to do with her future was because of the pressure that her mother placed on her to become a Rhyhorn racer. Her mother was a famous Rhyhorn racer, who absolutely adored the sport and wanted to encourage her daughter to follow in her footsteps. Her relationship with her mother, and an accident during Rhyhorn racing practice, actually caused her to hate the Pokémon itself, until she taught Ash how to race Rhyhorn.

Right before Ash was taken by Team Rocket, the two spent a day together teaching Ash the sport. During that same day, Serena realized that she actually had a connection with Rhyhorn, and began to understand why her mother loved it so much. While she didnt want to actually become a racer, she did understand why her mother wanted her to do it.

Did Misty Have A Crush On Ash

Pin en serena

In the second Pokémon movie, Misty got jealous after Melody kisses Ash, implying that she truly does have a crush on Ash although she initially denies it, she changes her mind later and implicitly admits it to be true towards the end of the film. In fact, Mistys Song strongly implies this even more.

How Many Pokmon Does She Have

As a performer, Serena doesn’t need as many Pokémon on her team as a regular trainer, and, as such, her team is comparatively small against the likes of May and Dawn. In the anime, Serena has only three Pokémon: the Fire starter Braixen, Pancham, and Sylveon, giving her one of the smallest teams for a main character in the show. Her manga counterpart, on the other hand, has a few changes as well as a near full team. Y’s final team is Fletchinder, Sylveon, Greninja, Rhyhorn, and an Absol that can Mega Evolve.

Why Is Goh So Hated

One of the most common criticisms of Goh is how he catches Pokémon. Up until Pokémon Journeys, every series of the anime has hammered home the point that a Pokémon must be weakened in battle before you can catch it. Theres also controversy around the sheer volume of Pokémon that Goh has been catching.

How Old Is Serena

It isn’t explicitly stated in the anime, but considering her status as a newbie Pokémon trainer and her past interactions with Ash, she is most likely 10. That being said, she is based on one of the rival characters from Pokémon X & Y, who is stated to be older than the other beginner trainers alongside the player character. Therefore, it is possible that she may actually be a few years older than Ash. Since teenaged characters are shown to be quite a bit taller than Ash, it’s likely that she is, at most, probably a couple of years older than him or around the same age.

The Supernatural Is Too Scary

Serena Returns in SPECIAL EPISODE?! Ash and Serena REUNITED?! РPok̩mon Journeys

Serena has a history of having a serious fear of the supernatural.

During a trip to an abandoned house, Serena was absolutely terrified at every single noise. Whenever something happened Serena would automatically assume something supernatural was at work, and assume the worst was going to happen at all times.

She believes every spooky story, no matter how unbelievable. When Ash was kidnapped by a Trevenant, Serena absolutely believed Clements story about the forest eating people and was terrified.

Each time they come across a scary house, scary ravine, scary forest, or scary anything, Serena cannot help but become afraid and speak her mind. Even in cases where her fear is irrational and makes Ash react in a negative way!

Who Loves Ash Most

Fans of the franchise agree that Serena is Ashs most prominent love interest. She shows deep affection for him and even kisses him goodbye when the two part ways, a moment thats still talked about to this day. Like other female characters in the anime, Serena is the female player in the Generation VI games.

Is She In The Manga

Most of the main characters in the video game series as well as the anime are based on characters from the Pokémon Adventures manga. In this case, Serena is based on Y from the X and Y Adventures series. Unlike her anime counterpart, she began her journey with a Fletchling and is likely the reason why there is one in her house at the beginning of the anime series. Unlike her anime counterpart, Y isn’t as unsure about her goals in life and doesn’t take part in contests.

Changes To Pokemons Animation

The original series has limited animation compared to later series. In this sample, Misty in the foreground and the background remain static as Brock, Ash, and Pikachu move. If you look at those three, they are fairly static too. Their clothing doesnt move as they bend. Their hair doesnt bounce nor does Pikachus tail or ears show any motion. Watch Ashs arms as he walks forward, and you will see how the sequence uses limited tweens between keyframes. His arms pop out to his sides instead of moving smoothly. Brock has the most frames as he speaks. Pikachu has the fewest frames. The original series had a limited budget, and these animation decisions reflect this.

Clement has the fewest frames, but his hoodie and drawstrings are animated along with his hair. The rest of him steps off camera. Pikachu and Dendennes bodies remain static, but the dynamics of all the motion at once hides this well.

Considering the series debuted in 1997, it remains impressively popular. At this point, parents introduce their children to Pokemon as a way of sharing their own childhood. Pokemon has to balance its old fans while still evolving to attract new generations of fans. XY/XYZ capstones the old style of Pokemon while raising the standard of animation for everything that will follow. We will see what will follow Sun and Moons break in style.

Shes Afraid Of Ghosts

Pokmon: Ashs Future Is In Serenas Hands

It is not explicitly stated in the anime, but considering her status as a rookie Pokémon trainer and her previous interactions with Ash, she is most likely 10 years old. That said, it is based on one of the rival characters from Pokémon X & Y, who is claimed to be older than the other beginning trainers along with the player character. Therefore, it is possible that he is a few years older than Ash. Given that the teenage characters are quite taller than Ash, it is likely that she is, at most, a couple of years older than him or about the same age.

9 What is your Japanese name?

Unlike almost every other character in Pokémon, Serenas name was not changed on location. This trend is also maintained in all its other localized names, since it is called Serena or a transliteration of that name more appropriate to the language to which it is translated. The same cannot be said for her mother, Grace, whose name is based on race due to her status as a former Rhyhorn runner, while her Japanese name, Saki, could be based on multiple different Japanese words.

8 Has Serenas father ever shown himself?

Like many other new coaches from PokémonOnly one of Serenas parents appears on the screen, in this case, her mother. Her father is only mentioned briefly at one point in the anime.

Like Ash and Brocks father, he is likely on his own Pokémon journey in the Kalos region, which is why he is never seen in the series.

7 Is it in the manga?

6 Why did Serenas appearance change?

Pokmon Games Should Add More Depth To Main Character Backstories

However, the dissonance between the anime’s Serena and the game’s Serena shows that the Pokémon game series should consider adding deeper levels of backstory to the main characters players choose between. Most games start with the player at home, but following a series of unusual incidents, they obtain a Pokémon and head out on their journey as a trainer. While this background allows players to project themselves into the shoes of the main character, it has also become repetitive and bland. The Pokémon anime’s version of Serena shows what is possible with the characters, and the popularity of Serena and others existing between both worlds indicates fans may enjoy deeper stories.

While past main characters in the Pokémon series have lacked the depth seen in the animated series, there is a chance the newly announced Gen 9 games Pokémon Scarlet and Violet could change things. The game has been announced as a true open-world, and will likely need a more complex narrative than past Pokémon titles to fill out the world. This could mean that unlike Pokémon X and Y, and many other entries in the main series, the new games could give players a main character with a rich and compelling backstory that might translate into animated series adaptions.
