Pokemon Go Trading is now available to everyone who has passed level 10 and is ready to swap their Friend codes with other players.

The new system is pretty robust and comes with some essential rules that cant be bypassed.

These have been put in place by Niantic to stop players abusing the system, something thats already a problem with spoofers and bots.

So while fans cant expect to see a worldwide trading network springing up anytime soon, there are some pretty cool new features to try out.

The new friends list will give players a chance to trade with other Trainers

Trading comes with some rules though, which govern how many trades can be performed in a day, and how much it will cost to complete the swap.

Every trade requires that you and your trading partner spend some Stardust.

Different Pokémon require different amounts of Stardust. Generally, the more desirable the Pokémon , the more Stardust is required to trade.

You can lower this amount by increasing your Friendship Level with your trading partner.

POKEMON GO TRADING COSTS

As mentioned above, different Pokemon will cost different amounts, based on what type they are, and how good a friend you are with the trader.

The same rate is in place for Legendary Pokemon.

Gym Challenge Rockets Mewtwo 1st Edition #14

This card is particularly different from most earlier Mewtwo cards in the style they had and the abilities of Mewtwo. First of all, the card has added the Juxtapose ability, which was new to Mewtwo at that time.

Also, the image, or the artstyle, for Mewtwo is slightly different here. You can see that its depicted from a slight angle. If you own this one, you can expect to sell it for a few hundred dollars at most, but not for that much if you have a lower graded card of this type.

Pokemon Go Evolution Trades

M Mewtwo

While there’s some Pokemon in the core games that require a trade in order to evolve, that functionality has been noticeably missing from Pokemon Go until a recent update. Now, all Pokemon that evolve via trade in the main games also have the option in Pokemon Go, alongside a candy requirement. This includes Pokemon old and new, so for example Graveler now evolves into Golem through either 100 Geodude candy or trading with another trainer. It looks like new Pokemon with this function need 200 candy, whereas existing ones haven’t had their candy requirement changed.

Holographic Shadowless Blastoise: $2475

Out of the three final-evolution Kanto starters, its Blastoise who has the least valuable Shadowless holographic card, reaching heights of $2475 on Pokemon Prices. We say least valuable, but thats still a lot of money for just the one card, and its hardly far behind its sibling Venusaur.

Thats if Blastoise is still in mint condition, of course, which is a big ask considering these cards are over 20 years old. Carrying the powerful Water-type move Hydro Pump, this version of Blastoise was a pretty impressive card to carry in your deck back in the day, but at this point its still a solid collectible card.

Neo Destiny Shining Mewtwo Holo #109 1st Edition

Oh yeah, the shining Pokemon cards were the holy grail of Pokemon cards in the early 2000s. Collectors used to go crazy for these, and they were prepared to swap some decent cards just to get a shining card of a special character like Mewtwo.

Today its no different. Shining cards usually go for more than regular cards, especially from the early days of Pokemon cards. If you take a look at this one, its not the first Mewtwo card to be printed nor is it the rarest, but it can still be relatively valuable.

Theres a healthy mix of both English cards and Japanese cards of this type. You will generally have a decent amount of options when it comes to both types of this card there are a couple more English cards than Japanese cards, sitting at around the 300 mark. The main difference between the two is that the English version has the Psyburst portion printed out differently on the Japanese, theyre stacked horizontally.

Another factor that increases the price of this one is that its from the 1st edition of this print. If you own this card from the 1st edition, then youre laughing this 1st edition sign may just increase the price of the card for a few hundred dollars.

Mewtwo Japanese Pokemon Card Holo #150

If you just want the oldest version of Mewtwo Pokemon cards, then you must take a look at this Japanese version from 1996. Its vastly similar to the other two cards weve just featured, albeit with Japanese writing on it.

One common issue that these early cards had was that they had no rarity symbol on the bottom of the card, which was only added after a few weeks of printing. If you can find one without the rarity symbol, this means youre in luck, because youre getting a Mewtwo card from the very first few weeks of printing.

But even with the rarity symbol, this card can command a high fee. These are extremely hard to find. The main problem will be finding one in at least decent condition. Initially, these cards were not preserved that well, so there will not be many PSA 10s. But if you can accept a lower quality card, then therell be no problem, as long as its genuine.

In terms of prices, youre looking at several hundred dollars and potentially more if the card doesnt have the rarity symbol. Get this card if youre not bothered by the Japanese writing on it and you just want the earliest card printed of this type possible.

Neo 4 Japanese Shining Mewtwo #150

STARDUST COSTS FOR TRADING! Pokémon GO | ZoëTwoDots

Heres the Japanese NEO version weve talked about before. Once again, you might struggle to find huge differences between the English version and the Japanese one except for the obvious which is the Japanese writing, of course.

Japanese cards have always had a lot of popularity firstly because theres a huge market in Japan for Pokemon cards, but also because many of these were printed out earlier than the cards weve had on the English market. And this ones the same it was printed out in 2001, slightly earlier than the English card.

Here, the entire card is holographic instead of just the background of the card. And another very tiny difference is the layout of the characters energies, where the three symbols in the second column of the text are lined up horizontally, while theyre different for the English card.

The Japanese NEO shining Mewtwo is also rarer than the English version. Just over 150 cards of this type have been graded by PSA, and only a bunch of them have been PSA 10, so if you really want to have this card, you might have to accept that it wont be a PSA 10.

Holographic Shadowless Charizard: $500000

There are a lot of factors that make the Holographic Shadowless First Edition Charizard card worth so much compared to any other Charizard card. Firstly, its a first edition version of the undoubtedly most popular Kanto starter, which already makes it extra valuable to most pokemon fans. Alongside this, the card is also shadowless, which essentially means the card lacks a shadow between the box containing the image of the Pokemon, and the rest of the card.

This Shadowless effect is not a misprint or a mistake. Its actually the original Pokemon card design, as the foiling process has changed and provided a different look to modern holographic and foil cards. These Charizard cards have become one of the prime reasons for the Pokemon Card trend of the past two years, with YouTuber Logan Paul opening one as recently as February 2021 that was estimated by auction site owner Ken Goldin to sell for upwards of $500,000.

How Do You Trade Lucky

The most common way to acquire a Lucky is by trading with a friend, over and over. Trainers are allowed 100 trades per day, and the mechanic currently makes it very easy for two players to swap catches back and forth. At random, a Pokémon may turn Lucky, which will happen for both players, when a trade is completed.

The actual cost of Pokemon Go trading is quite a complex thing. Every trade will cost you Stardust, and that price will depend on a number of factors: whether you’ve already caught the Pokemon yourself, your friendship level with the player you’re about to trade with, and the Pokemon you’re actually trading – Standard vs Special trades.

It seems like the Stardust Pokemon Go trading cost is about as follows :

Look at the bottom of the card and find the year it was printed. Thats the first key indicator when identifying your card.
