Now youve found a Friend Code, its time to add them to your Friends list. This works in a similar way to finding your own Trainer Code. Navigate to your Friends page and press theAdd Friend button.
Once youve done this, there will be a box beneath it where you can enter your chosen Friend Code. Copy the code into the box, and then press send. Now, its just a case of waiting for the Trainer to accept!

Heres what you need to know about adding new friends in Pokémon Go.
When it comes to adding new friends, youll need to make sure to reach out to another player you dont already have added to your Pokémon Go friends list. You can share your friend code with them or input their friend code to play in a request to become friends. Youll find this underneath your profile when you click your Avatars head on the lower-left portion of the screen and then go to the Friends tab. Youll have your friend code displayed there, and you can input the other players friend code at this location.
There are multiple ways to find new friends to add to your friends list, such as finding Pokémon Go dedicated Discords, sharing it on Twitter with other Pokémon Go players, or even checking out the Reddit pages for some of the more popular Pokémon Go communities, such as Silph Road. All it takes is to add someone who has not been on your friends list before and add them to your list. After completing the challenge, you can choose to remove that friend if youd like to free up your list.
How To Increase Friendship Levels
Here are the number of days you need to interact with someone to increase your Friendship Level, you’ll also get EXP for leveling up:
- Good Friend: 1 day – 3,000 EXP
- Great Friend: 7 days – 10,000 EXP
- Ultra Friend: 30 days – 50,000 EXP
- Best Friend: 90 days – 100,000 EXP
There are four actions you can do to count as an action each day:
- Opening a Gift
- Participating in a Gym Battle together
- Participating in a Raid Battle together
Tip: Keep in mind, even if you do all four actions, it will still only count as one day of interaction. So hold onto those gifts!

Niantic has officially pushed a new feature live in Pokémon Go that will let players add friends in-game directly from their phones contact list.
This is done through a new setting that lets Pokémon Go search your contacts for other people who play the game. Any discoverability and contacts list sync permissions can be changed in the settings at any time, and only players who have the contact list sync active will be discovered through this method.
