Pve Offensive Moves Explanation
- Bug Bite and Infestation have roughly similar performance, with Infestation having better damage and Bug Bite better energy gain, though the legacy Bug Bite pulls ahead just slightly.
- Poison Jab is good when paired with Sludge Bomb, though Sludge Bomb pairs with Bug Bite for Beedrill’s highest performance against grass types and neutral targets.
- X-Scissor is fast and furious, giving Beedrill a bug type set.
- Aerial Ace is fairly slow, but if you’ve just started and are desperate for fighting-type counters, you can leverage Beedrill’s double fighting-resistance and use this. However, even many neutral matchups can out-damage Beedrill on this metric.
- Fell Stinger has a higher attack rating than X-Scissor, but it’s substantially slower which makes it weaker in practice.
- Beedrill is a bad Bug-type attacker. It’s an even worse Ground-type. Leave Drill Run alone.
Where Can You Use Mega Evolutions In Pokmon Go
While a Pokémon is in its temporary Mega Evolved form, you can use it in the following areas of the game:
- Battling in Raids
- All other Pokémon in the Raid will receive an attack boost. A further boost is added that Pokémon shares the same type of attack.
- Battling in Gyms
Meanwhile, Mega Evolutions cannot be used to:
- Defend Gyms
- In the Go Battle League

It is recommended to power up your counters as much as possible, but creating that amount of strong Shadow Pokémon with their moves unlocked is a tall order for even the most practiced players. How ‘a Mega Discovery’ Works In Pokmon Go
Research Quests, which allow you to complete objectives for rewards, were introduced into Pokémon Go in March 2018.
There are three types of Research Quests – Field Research, Timed Research and Special Research. Unlike Field Research tasks, which offer a selection of tasks that can be completed whenever the player chooses, Special Research tasks are the same for every player and have a set, story driver, order.
A Mega Discovery is a Special Research questline designed to teach players how to use Mega Evolution, which was introduced into Pokémon Go in August 2020.
The quest itself consists of four steps, which each contain three individual challenges. You’ll be rewarded for every individual challenge and overall step you complete. By the end of the Special Research, you’ll be able to Mega Evolve Beedrill with ease.
There’s no restriction to when you can complete A Mega Discovery, so feel free to begin your exploration into Mega Evolution whenever you please.

Already, these limitations are causing some discontent in the community: because raids are the primary way that you get Mega Energy, it becomes massively expensive to keep a Mega Pokemon in your team for any appreciable length of time, and thats if you can even find and complete enough Raids to stockpile energy.
Limitations: Youll be using these things in Raids, where theyll give an attack boost to all other Pokémon and a bigger boost to Pokémon with the same attack types. You can also use them against Team Rocket and regular PvP, but they cant defend gyms or enter the Go Battle League. Niantic suggests that they could come to GBL eventually, but right now the paywall associated with them would be a huge problem when it comes to balancing.

How To Get Mega Energy In Pokemon Go
The most consistent way to obtain Mega Energy in Pokemon GO is by defeating Mega Pokemon in Raids. Cooperating with others to take down these powerful Pokemon to farm the Pokemon-specific Mega Energy.
Defeating a Mega Venusaur will give trainers Mega Venusaur energy. The amount of Mega Energy obtained depends on how quickly you and others defeat the Mega Pokemon. The faster you defeat the Mega Pokemon the more Mega Energy is received. Trainers can receive between 50 and 90 Mega Energy after each battle, which was increased from the original 35-50 Mega Energy trainers originally obtained when the feature was first released.
Mega Raids are about the same power level as Level 5 Raids so trainers will want to team up with as many trainers as possible. The Mega Pokemon that appears in Raids is on a rotating basis. Normally, a single Mega Evolution appears in Mega Raids for about a week before its changed.
After Mega Evolutions initial release, Niantic implemented another way to obtain Mega Energy by using the games Buddy system. Trainers who walk with your buddy can obtain one Mega Energy as long as they Mega Evolved that species before.
On rare occasions, Niantic rewards trainers with specific Mega Energy for completing certain Timed or Field Research normally during a special event. However, these are few and far in between so whenever a trainer finds a Field Research that rewards Mega Energy they should complete it as fast as possible.

The main thing to keep in mind is exploiting Mega Beedrills weaknesses by hitting it with the best Fire, Flying, Rock and Psychic-type attacks available. Dont be afraid to burn through some TMs, Stardust, or Rare Candy to help prepare the roster and avoid any failed attempts at this battle.

When Mega Evolution was introduced in Pokemon GO, only five Mega Pokemon were added: Mega Beedrill, Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard X and Y. Since then, more Mega Pokemon have been introduced usually during special events.
As for Mega Energy, each Mega Evolution has two costs. The initial Mega Energy cost is the amount needed to Mega Evolve a species for the first time. This is the highest cost. Every subsequent Mega Evolution of that species after is significantly reduced.
There are a lot of Mega Pokemon that have yet to be introduced in Pokemon GO, but heres every evolution introduced so far with the initial Mega Energy cost and the cost to Mega Evolve after the first time.

Your Pokmon Will Be Useful In A Raiding Event
Instead of rushing to complete your Mega Dex, a strategic time to Mega Evolve your Pokémon would be if there is a raiding event where your it will be useful. A Cresselia Raid Hour, for example, would be a terrific time to Mega Evolve Beedrill. Beedrill, in its Mega Form, is one of the top Cresselia counters and will boost all other Bug-type Pokémon, which Cresselia, as a Psychic-type, is weak to. These sort of events, where you know you’ll be raiding against a Pokémon weak to your Mega for an extended period of time, is the most recommended time to Mega Evolve. How To Mega Evolve Your Pokmon In Pokmon Go
You can only have one Mega Pokémon at a time. If you Mega Evolve a different one, your first Pokémon will revert back to normal and youll need to collect Mega Energy to evolve it again.
Using a Mega Pokémon in a raid gives other Pokémon an attack boost, with an additional attack boost given to Pokémon of the same type. These boosts do not stack.
Your Pokémon will only be Mega Evolved for a time period, which you can check on the information screen for that Pokémon. Once it returns to normal, it will be significantly cheaper to Mega Evolve it again.
Can Existing Pokmon Mega Evolve In Pokmon Go
It was revealed in a Developer Insight video that any Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution in the core games will also be able to Mega Evolve in Pokémon Go, including the very first starter Pokémon you chose. Well, assuming you didn’t pick Pikachu. However, not all Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving in the core games can do so right now. Currently, only select species of Pokémon can Mega Evolve, while more species will be added over time.

How Long Does Mega Energy Last In Pokemon Go
The time for a Pokemon to stay as a Mega-Evolved form is now eight hours instead of four as before. The maximum for Mega Energy has also hiked from 999 to 2,000. The limit varies depends on each kind of Mega energy, not the entire amount you have for all Pokemon species.

How Do You Mega Evolve Pokemon In Go
As previously mentioned, Mega Evolution works a bit differently in Pokemon Go than in the mainline Pokemon games. Rather than a Mega Stone, you’ll need to gather a new resource called Mega Energy to Mega Evolve your Pokemon. You’ll receive Mega Energy by participating in Mega Raid Battles, which feature a Mega-Evolved Pokemon as the Raid boss. The faster your team is able to defeat the Mega Raid, the more Mega Energy you’ll receive as a reward.
Once you’ve amassed enough Mega Energy, you’ll be able to Mega Evolve the corresponding Pokemon. Unlike in the mainline games, Pokemon will remain Mega Evolved in Pokemon Go for a limited time, even outside of battle. As such, you’ll be able to see your Mega-Evolved Pokemon following you around on the map if you set it as a Buddy. You’ll also be able to take Snapshots with it and use it in battle against Team Go Rocket, other players, and Raid bosses.
After you Mega Evolve a Pokemon for the first time, its Mega Energy requirement will decrease, letting you Mega Evolve it again in the future much more quickly. It will also be logged in your Mega Pokedex, so you can easily keep track of which Pokemon you’ve Mega Evolved.
How Mega Evolutions Work
When you mega evolve a Pokémon, it becomes temporarily more powerful and gets a range of bonuses.
You can see which Pokémon can mega evolve by selecting them in your Pokémon storage.
If you see a Mega evolve button and Mega energy beside its candy indicator, you can mega evolve that Pokémon.
All Pokémon that can mega evolve are the final form of a Pokémon species. So while you can mega evolve Blastoise or Charizard, you cant do the same for Wartortle or Charmeleon.
For hardcore collectors, the main reason to get mega evolved Pokémon is that they appear permanently in your Mega Pokédex.
But, on the downside, your mega evolved Pokémon will only stay in its brawny new form for 8 hours. After that, it devolves into its original form.

To get Mega Energy otherwise, youre going to need to participate in Mega Raids. These are a separate tier from the other Raids, and will still give you an opportunity to catch the Pokemon you defeat. Additionally the Raid reward system is changing a bit starting tomorrow, with rewards pivoting to being based on speed. So the faster your crew wins a Raid, the more Mega Energy you earn.
Once you do reach the requirement to Mega Evolve, you can only have one active at a time. So if youre rolling with Mega Blastoise but want to try Venusaur out, youll want to wait for the former to run out. Otherwise Venusaur will take over and all the time you have left over for Blastoise goes away.
When it comes to using Mega Pokemon in battle, there are restrictions. You cant use Mega Pokemon to defend a Gym, and they also wont be eligible for use in the Pokemon GO Battle League . Youll be able to use them to attack Gyms, as well as in Trainer Battles. You can also use Mega Pokemon in Raids, and using them will provide your teammates with bonuses.
