Most of that problem has been caused by scalpers who find ways to get their hands on as many packs as possible. They control prices and sell cards for inflated prices. Or rather, they sell entire packs for inflated prices because people can’t find packs to buy anywhere else.
The craze really took off when Logan Paul and other streamers began to host major card openings. It made card openings mainstream again, and many fans wanted packs of their own. That led to a new kind of Pokemon card market.

The Ridiculous Price One Mcdonalds Pokmon Card Sold For
On February 25, a single non-holographic Pikachu card from the 25th anniversary Pokémon Happy Meal set sold on eBay for $500. Whyd this McDonalds Pokémon card sell for so much? Game Rant explains that the card was cut with diagonal edges instead of curved ones. This gave the Pokémon card a unique identity and a higher price point, even though it lacked the holographic background that tends to command more money. Despite the stories of other exorbitantly priced Pokémon cards, Game Rant notes that the value of this card is due to the scalping that occurred around the launch of the Happy Meal set. People would buy multiple toys that go with the Happy Meal in an attempt to collect the entire set easily or worse, to control the entire availability of the cards in a certain area, which has led to a rise in prices. Once the excitement dies down, you could expect prices for the Pokémon cards to drop as well.
Other artificially high prices noted by Sportskeeda included a set of 150 cards for $1,000 and the entire McDonalds set of 50 cards for $500, both perhaps a tad more understandable than the single card going for $500.

The Pokemon Company has condoned peoples behaviour on Twitter. The overwhelming popularity of the promotion means the cards are being reprinted at maximum capacity. This ultimately means there will be more cards in circulation and therefore, those that are out there will be less valuable. Dont feed the scalpers people, the cards will be back!

Are Mcdonalds Pokmon Cards Real
For Pokémons 25th anniversary, McDonalds decided to create their own Pokémon cards. Happy Meals came with various Pokémon card packs.
The cards were made up of the original 24 Pokémon and Pikachu. Each card is also stamped with a special 25th-anniversary stamp.
There are 50 cards total in the limited edition packs. Each of the 25 Pokémon also has a holographic counterpart card that makes the 50 cards.
Just like any other toy that comes in McDonalds Happy Meals, you were able to purchase the cards themselves without purchasing a meal. Because of the ever-increasing popularity of Pokémon cards, many restaurants ran out of the cards.

The cards that McDonalds produced are real Pokémon cards. Since these cards are limited edition and also tied with Pokémons 25th anniversary, some of the sealed boxes can go for around $600 to $1,000.

This card was a reprint from The Town on No Map expansion that was released in Japanese McDonalds between May and June, 2002. This card features a black PROMO symbol right next to the McDonalds symbol. The e-Reader data contains information on Togepi as well as sound data for the Construction Melody Box application. The artwork on this card features a super cute Togepi that is laying down under a cartoonish tree. Under 50 of these cards have been PSA graded, with a majority of them being a perfect PSA 10. In our quest to catch ’em all, one Pokemon fan has shelled out a whopping $500/£359 on a rare McDonald’s Pokemon card that was part of the recent Happy Meal promotion. 2021 is a huge year for The Pokemon Company as it marks 25 years since Pokemon Red and Green released in Japan. Alongside the long-awaited Diamond and Pearl remaster, there’s the announcement of the open world Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a next-gen version of Pokemon Snap, and the rerelease of the OG Pokemon Trading Card Game in supersized form. To make the most of the Silver Anniversary, Ronald McDonald wanted a piece of the action.
McDonald’s is no stranger to Pokemon promotions, but safe to say, this one has become a craze of its own. We haven’t seen this many adults buying Happy Meals since the madness of Teenie Beanie Babies. There’s an impressive array of 25 starter Pokemon, available in both normal and holo form to make a grand total of 50 to collect. With the average Happy Meal promo set to run for 4-8 weeks, Pokefever could end around the middle of March. Then again, McDonald’s hasn’t confirmed when it’s due to round off.

Squirtle is still the most popular Kanto starter, selling for around $20, with Bulbasaur and Charmander in the $10-$20. A lot of the other holo starter cards can be picked up for around $5-$10 now.

This card in a PSA 10 can fetch up to $3,500, but for lower gradings this card can significantly go lower. This is a very vintage card and is pretty in demand for a PSA 10.
