3 Ways to Catch a Pikachu in Pokemon Go

– Pokemon Go is undoubtedly one of the biggest success stories of the App Store and Google Play Store this year so far, perhaps even this decade. Millions of smartphone users have downloaded, signed-up and tried to “Catch ‘Em All” in the real world. Sometimes that’s lead to users ending up in the strangest of places, sometimes in danger, or just lead thousands to crowd up in Central Park.

If you’re yet to give the game a spin, but you’re a fan of the TV show, you know there’s one star, and that’s Pikachu. The little half rabbit-half electrical storm is as cute as he is formidable, and he’s the lead character Ash’s sidekick.

You’ll be disappointed to know that when you sign up to start the game, he’s not among the first three Pokemon available to catch and start your collection. Instead, you get three options: Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur. But there is a way to get Pikachu right from the beginning.

First up, you need to download the game, which you can find here in the iTunes App Store for iPhone, or from the for Android. Second, you sign up as normal on the initial screen either using your Google account or a Pokemon Trainer Club account.

Side note – If you’ve already started the game and chosen one of the first three characters, you’ll need to sign out and create a brand new account using another Google account, or just registering a new Pokemon Trainer Club account.

How To Get Alolan Pokmon In Lets Go

There are two ways to obtain Alolan forms of Kanto Pokémon in Lets Go, Pikachu! and Lets Go, Eevee! The simplest way is to trade for them via in-game trades with NPCs throughout your adventure. Various NPCs you encounter throughout your journey will offer to give you an Alolan Pokémon in exchange for its Kanto region counterpart. Most of these trades are available in both versions of the game, however, there are two exclusive Alolan Pokémon available for trade in each version of the game.

The second way to obtain Alolan Pokémon in Lets Go is to transfer them from the Pokémon Go mobile app. This option requires you to have reached the Go Park in Fuchsia City in game, as well as to have captured the Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Do You Need Mew To Complete The Pokedex Lets Go

To officially complete the Pokédex, you need to catch the first 150 Pokémon in the game, from Bulbasaur to Mewtwo. Having Mew, Meltan, and Melmetal registered to the device will certainly give you bragging rights, but they dont count toward the final tally.

Where To Catch Pikachu In Pokmon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

You will be able to get Pikachu in the Trophy Garden location. This location is on Route 212, just behind the Pokemon Mansion. You can get there by going to Hearthome City. Once there, exit the town and go to Route 212, where you will find a Mansion. Enter the mansion and head towards the back, where you will find the entrance to the garden. The Trophy Garden is a patch of grass located behind the Mansion.

You can find several different Pokemon types here, luckily Pikachu has a 40% spawn rate so he shouldnt be too difficult to run into. This also means that a Pikachu isnt guaranteed to spawn every time. If you find one, defeat the Pikachu and you will be able to add it to your team.

There are plenty of other spawn points where players can find a Pikachu, but this is the easiest to find and has a decent spawn rate. To recap where you can find and catch Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl:

  • First, you need to go Hearthome City.
  • Exit the city through Route 212.
  • Search and enter the Pokemon mansion.
  • Head towards the back to go to the Trophy Garden
  • Defeat a Pikachu to get it into your team.
  • Pikachu has a 40%, so it is not guaranteed to spawn every time.

Each version of the game will also have some exclusive wild Pokémon, and the version will determine how frequently some types of Pokémon appear. The confirmed exclusive Pokémon in Lets Go: Pikachu include Oddish, Sandshrew, and Growlithe. Lets Go Eevee has wild Bellsprout, Vulpix and Meowth. There are certainly more exclusive Pokémon to be found in both games. In order to catch all of the Pokémon in either game, youll need to trade with someone who has the opposite version to obtain the other set of exclusive Pokémon.

Pokemon Go: Where To Find Pikachu

In Pokemon GO, the Pokemon franchise’s enduring mascot enjoys a sizable presence both during regular gameplay as well as during in-game events.

Sporting over a dozen costumes, Pikachu certainly doesn’t lack flair. Even without them, its image is iconic and synonymous with the word “Pokemon.” For Pokemon GO players hoping to obtain a Pikachu of their very own, there are a number of means to go about this.

While Pikachu can be picked as a starter when starting out in Pokemon GO, there are a number of methods that will allow players to obtain the popular Electric Mouse Pokemon apart from that.

Catching Pikachu In The Wild

  • Finding Pikachu in the wild is tough but its not impossible.
  • You can start by checking near power plants and also near science museums.
  • It is also highly possible to find Pikachu late night at 3am.
  • When Pikachu is near you, you will be able to see its silhouette appear in the sidebar in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
  • Checking the rustling grass is also going to help. If you see a Pikachu silhouette in your nearby list and then see rustling grass on your map then just go to the grass and a Pikachu may come out.
  • Tap on Pikachu to enter “capture” mode and catch it.

Pokemon Go: How to Find Santa Hat Pikachu

The end result is youll have a lot of the same kind of Pokemon. But thats okay! Like in Pokemon GO, players use duplicates to earn candy. However, candy in here is a bit different.

Instead of using it for evolution purposes, youll actually use candy to boost your Pokemons stats, similar to how the health products like Protein and Carbos were used in earlier games. Its a much more affordable way to raise your Pokemons stats, so you can tackle some of the games more difficult challenges.

Its deceptively simple on the surface, but theres a lot going on in Pokemon Lets GO! Stay tuned for more guide coverage, and let us know how youre enjoying the game in the comments!

How To Catch Rock Star Pikachu And Pop Star Pikachu

In order to get either of these Pokemon, youre going to need to buy a ticket for the Fest, giving you access to a lot more in-game content this weekend than if you choose not to. A ticket is available for purchase in the in-game store.

Once youve bought this, it will give you access to a special research event on July 17.

Once you are working through the event, you will be given a choice – between Rock Star Pikachu and Pop Star Pikachu. Tap the one you want, and hey presto – it will appear in your PC.

Sadly, it doesnt look like its possible to claim both Pokemon without trading with another player, so make your choice a wise one, as you wont be able to backtrack on it.

Both Pokemon have the ability to learn special moves based on their costumes, like Meteor Smash for Rock Star and Draining Kiss for Pop Star.

The Pikachu are rare and only around for a short time, so you might want to make your choice soon, no matter how hard it might be.

Lets Go Eevee: Exclusive Pokmon

Lets Go, Eevee has its share of exclusives as well. Specific to this game are the Vulpix, Meowth, Bellsprout, Ekans, Koffing, and Pinsir families. Once again, you can trade with your friends, but especially with Meowths fame in the anime, this might be the version to go with.

Another important note is that one of these exclusives, Pinsir, has a mega-evolution that you can buy a stone for in the Indigo Plateau near the end of the game. If you want an exceptionally powerful bug-type to face Elite 4 and dont have a friend to trade for it, this version is the only one you can easily use it in.

Bill Fuses With A Nidorino Instead Of A Clefairy

In the events of the games that start in the Kanto region, the genius Bill accidentally fuses with a Pokémon and gives the player an S.S. Anne ticket when they help the inventor defuse.

In the original games, its implied that he accidentally merged with a Clefairy, while in the Lets Go titles, he explicitly combines with a Nidorino. Maybe, this change happened because its easier to depict a Nidorino with more human-like features, but either way, this is still an unsettling event in these childrens games.

HOW to catch PIKACHU in Pokémon GO

The most common differences in any Pokémon game are the Pokémon themselves, as some species are only available in Lets Go, Pikachu that you cannot find in Lets Go, Eevee, and vice-versa. For Lets Go, Pikachu this includes the Sandshrew, Oddish, Growlithe, Mankey, Grimer, and Scyther families.

If you do wish to truly catch em all, you can always trade with friends to get these. But if any of them are your favorites and you want to include in your team, youll have to make some choices.

Pokemon: Lets Go Pikachu And Pokemon: Lets Go Eevee Review

Pokemon: Lets Go, Pikachu! and Lets Go, Eevee! are triumphs, successfully adapting to become more accessible while still remaining fun to play.

Pokemon: Lets Go, Pikachu!and Lets Go, Eevee! have had their critics from the very beginning. As soon as Pokemon: Lets Go was revealed earlier this year, skeptics emerged, stating that simplified gameplay based around the Pokemon GO mobile title would inevitably reduce the quality of the series. In theory, the cynics certainly had a leg to stand on Pokemon is a game that appeals to both young and old fans alike, and has possessed remarkable depth in gameplay for decades now, hidden under the surface for those who want to make the game into something more competitive and grindy.

In practice however, Pokemon: Lets Go, Pikachu! and Lets Go, Eevee! are triumphs of a modern age that is less interested in repetition for hours on end and instead wants some more light-hearted fare. Pokemon: Lets Go is obviously meant to bridge the gap between those familiar with the series only through Pokemon GO and those who have already journeyed throughout the various regions of Pokemon handheld titles in the past, and it succeeds marvelously, with most of its simplified systems actually producing better gameplay experiences than they have achieved in the past.

Pokemon Go Flying Pikachu: How To Catch The 5th Anniversary Balloon Pikachu

This month marks the fifth anniversary of Pokemon Go, which means there’s a slew of new in-game events and bonuses to celebrate – including the return of a new form of Flying Pikachu.

Special versions of Pikachu are of course something of a Pokemon series tradition – from the various party hat variants of everybody’s favorite electric mouse in Pokemon Go through to the classic Surfing Pikachu, a variant so cool that many of us nineties kids bought and played the first-gen Pokemon games all over again just to have the novelty of a Pikachu with a water-type move.

For Pokemon Go’s 5th birthday, Pikachu hits the game. Pikachu of course can’t naturally fly, but instead here floats through the skies on a series of balloons, with the most prominent balloon shaped like a 5, for the fifth birthday. That makes this a rare variant unlikely to return – so you’ll want to catch one while you can.

On this page, we explain how to catch a 5th anniversary flying Pikachu, plus remind of the timeline for catching one, as it’s a limited-time deal.

How to Find ALL 36 Wild Rare Pokemon in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee

Fill out your Pokedex by getting ahead in Pokemon Go now, based on the knowledge from Pokemon Yellow

One of the most exciting things about the inbound pair of Pokemon Lets Go games is that theyre an amazing recreation of the much-loved Pokemon Yellow: Pikachu Edition. It was basically the third game in the series, like ever, and played on the idea that you were your very own Ash Ketchum, complete with buddy Pikachu that followed you around. Obviously with Lets Go, you get the choice of having Pikachu or Eevee as your buddy, but that nostalgia factor is still there.

That extends to the fact that Pokemon Lets Go lovingly recreates the entirety of Pokemon Yellows storyline , which means you might want to start planning for its release in Pokemon Go.

From launch youll be able to trade Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Lets Go to add to your Go Park, which seems to be Pokemon Lets Gos version of the Safari Park from the original game. Any Pokemon you trade from Pokemon Go will live inside the Go Park, and you can go there and attempt to catch anything you find to add to your Lets Go Pokedex and general collection.

So then, it might be time to try and catch yourself some extra Pokemon to add to your Lets Go collection in Pokemon Go and get ahead of the game. That should be a little easier now that Pokemon Go is mixing up the spawn points more. Based on the original Pokemon Yellow, these are the Pokemon that are hardest to get:

Walk Away From The Starters

It’s as simple as the heading sounds. All you need to do to make Pikachu pop up as a Starter Pokémon in Pokémon GO is to reject the three Pokés presented to you. As harsh as this sounds, you need to walk away from all three of the Pokémon that pop up at first. They will likely either follow you or pop up again in your new location. But keep rejecting and walking away from them, and Pikachu will eventually appearmaking the decision of who to capture even harder!

It’s been said by many Pokémon GO players that you need to walk away from the starter Pokémon as many as four times in order to spawn Pikachu.

I have tried this and it did work for me! It took exactly four rejections of the three beloved original starter Pokémon, but it was worth it. Pikachu popped up and I threw my very first PokéBall at him. Luckily, I caught him with ease.

Where To Get Alolan Raichu In Pokemon Lets Go

Alolan Raichu is for our money one of the best Alola forms I mean, it takes Raichu, universally rejected over its preceeding evolution, and makes it psychic so it can ride its own tail like a surfboard. Whats not to love? In Pokemon Lets Go you can find an Alolan native trainer who agrees and shes willing to trade for a regular Raichu. Find the trainer in the Saffron City Pokemon Center.

The Alolan Raichu arrives at Level 30. Remember, the buddy Pikachu starter Pokemon cant evolve, so youll need to catch and evolve another Pikachu for this quest even in Lets Go Pikachu.
