How To Save Your Stardust
Trading isnt free. Itll cost you Stardust, the currency you earn for completing raids, catching Pokémon, winning gym battles, and the like. The cost is variable, depending on your friendship level with the person youre trading with and the kind of Pokémon you want to trade.
A Pokémon you already have in your Pokédex costs the least Pokémon you havent caught before, Shiny Pokémon, and Legendary Pokémon can cost more , and they have their own special requirements.
The incentive to increase your level of friendship with other people is that it greatly reduces your Stardust costs for trading . It can also hugely reduce the costs of certain trades with friends, so put the time in and send those gifts to bring up your Friendship level if you hope to be trading the best Pokémon.
What Are The Benefits Of Pokemon Go Trading
With Pokemon Go trading becoming more popular these days, many people want to know the benefits of trading in the game. To be honest, trading will provide a multitude of benefits for the player. First of all, trading will help you get the desired Pokemon without having to search for it.
Letâs say thereâs a Pokemon that youâve been looking for several days, but had no luck in finding it. In this case, you can simply reach out to a friend, whoâs got the desired Pokemon, and ask them to trade it.
Another benefit of trading in Pokemon Go is that itâll help you earn more bonuses. For each Pokemon GO trade, youâll receive candies as a reward. This reward will mainly depend on the type of Pokemon you traded away. However, youâll receive comparatively more candies if the Pokemon was caught at a farther distance. These candies will help you catch more Pokemon and increase your XP easily.

Lucky Pokemon require less stardust when you need to power them up. This is the essential characteristic and advantage of a Lucky Pokemon.

Will I Be Able To Check My Friends Pokmons Combat Stats Before Agreeing To Trade Mine For It
The funny thing is that a Pokémons stats are scrambled once its involved in a trade. Depending on the level of friendship you have with the person youre trading with, the stats are tweaked to be more or less than they originally were. This is a good incentive to putting friendship-building near the top of your priorities.
How To Make Friends

The first step in trading is finding friends in Pokémon Go. To do that, youll need to find the screen in the game that lets you enter a Trainer Code for another player and displays yours.
Step 1: The 12-digit code is located under the Friends tab when you tap on your trainers portrait in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Step 2: Under Friends, tap Add Friend to bring up the screen with the code.
Step 3: From there, you can either send your code to other people or enter one of their codes. When someone adds you to their Friends list, youll get a notification.
Step 4: Accept the request and youre done. Now youre linked to the other trainer and can see what theyre doing in the game.

It varies depending on the Pokémon and the friendship level between the two players making the trade. Some Pokémon like Pikachu and Squirtle can be Traded between Best Friends for tiny amounts of Stardust 100.
Special Trades, which involve Legendary, Shiny, and new , are another story. They could start at one million Stardust with a Good Friend. Yes 1,000,000! The 1,000,000 number is just for new friends. What Are Special Trades In Pokemon Go
A Special Trade in Pokemon Go will help you trade Pokemon that canât be traded using the standard trade. Legendary and Shiny Pokemon are the two creatures that you can only trade with a Special Trade.
Itâs also important to understand that a special trade is different from your standard trades. Why? Because you can only use one Special Trade in a single day. Also, for Special Trades, the Stardust cost increases exponentially.
Pokemon Go Trading Mechanics
There is a few things to keep in mind when trading Pokemon in Pokemon GO:
- Standard trades cost 100 Stardust. A standard trade involves Pokemon that are not shiny, not legendary and which you have already caught.
- IVs, HP and CP change when trading, but moves, gender and size of the traded Pokemon stay the same. Be careful: Pokemon Level can also change!
- A traded Pokemon level will be adjusted to the maximum power up level the recipient can perform. If you try to trade a higher level Pokemon to someone who cant normally power up to that level, the Pokemons level will go down. In other words, you cant boost someone by passing them a high level Pokemon they wouldnt have access to otherwise.
- You can influence the re-rolled stats by increasing your Friendship level. According to this official blog post, the game assigns minimum stat values based on your Friendship level.
- Trades reward additional Candy, depending on the distance between the locations where the two Pokemon were caught
- 1 Candy => close distance
- 3 Candy => 100 KM distance

You can use a Star Piece to increase your earned Stardust by 50% as well. Each Star Piece lasts for 30 minutes, so its best to use them to farm Stardust during events like a Community Day. You can buy one Star Piece in the shop for 100 PokéCoins or eight in a bundle for 640 Poké Coins.

What Has Pokmon Go Said About Trading Pokmon
From Pokémon Go:
If youre near a friend and have a Trainer Level of 10 or higher, you can trade Pokémon youve caught with that friend. Completing a trade earns a bonus Candy for the Pokémon youve traded away, and that bonus can increase if the Pokémon you traded were caught in locations far apart from each other! All trades are powered by Stardust, and some trades require more Stardust than others. As you build your Friendship Level with the friend you are trading with, youll find that you can complete the trade with much less Stardust.
Certain Pokémon, such as a Legendary Pokémon, a Shiny Pokémon, or a Pokémon not currently in your Pokédex, require a Special Trade to complete, so keep that in mind before trading away that golden Magikarp! Special Trades can only occur once per day with a Great Friend or Best Friend, and it often requires a lot of Stardust to complete a Special Trade. Special Trades are a great way to show a friend how much you care!

Can You Keep Trading Pokmon Back
No. Pokémon Go has stated:
To bar some Trainers from continually re-rolling a Pokémon’s stats through trade. However, all Pokémon cannot be traded again. This feature incentivizes trading without giving a significant advantage to one Trainer over another.
So it’s one-and-done, to prevent exactly that.
Friendship Stardust And Candy
All trades require Stardust, with massively reduced costs depending on your friendship level. An example in screenshots released by Niantic shows a 1,000,000 Stardust fee for a Special Trade, reduced to just 800 Stardust if the players are Best Friends. You only need to be friendship level one with a friend to initiate a trade, which will only take one day.
Good friends can be achieved after a day of friendship. If players want to trade for Pokemon they haven’t caught yet, they’ll need to be on the second level of friendship, great friends. This level can take up to seven days to acquire. The infographic below by GoHub further explains friendship level bonuses.
Players also receive candy bonuses depending on the original catch location of the Pokemon being traded. If the Pokemon were caught far apart, you’ll receive extra candy. The current upper limit on these bonuses is a 100KM distance between the Pokemon’s original locations. You get between 1 and 3 candy per trade.

Pokemon Go Trading is now available to everyone who has passed level 10 and is ready to swap their Friend codes with other players.
The new system is pretty robust and comes with some essential rules that cant be bypassed.
These have been put in place by Niantic to stop players abusing the system, something thats already a problem with spoofers and bots.
So while fans cant expect to see a worldwide trading network springing up anytime soon, there are some pretty cool new features to try out.
The new friends list will give players a chance to trade with other Trainers
Trading comes with some rules though, which govern how many trades can be performed in a day, and how much it will cost to complete the swap.
Every trade requires that you and your trading partner spend some Stardust.
Different Pokémon require different amounts of Stardust. Generally, the more desirable the Pokémon , the more Stardust is required to trade.
You can lower this amount by increasing your Friendship Level with your trading partner.
POKEMON GO TRADING COSTS
As mentioned above, different Pokemon will cost different amounts, based on what type they are, and how good a friend you are with the trader.
The same rate is in place for Legendary Pokemon.
Whats The Latest Pokemon Trading Discount
The amount of Stardust required for trades in Pokemon Go depends on many different factors. For example, the Stardust cost to trade with friends will be much lower than dealing with strangers because your friend is part of your friend list for 90 or more days.
Moreover, you can also save some money by ensuring that both Pokemon are roughly equivalent to strength, so no one loses out due to differences in level. However, it could take a long time to accumulate Stardust if you wish to trade with a player who you have recently befriended. Still, you can get discounts and prizes in Pokemon Go trading.
Depending on the friendship level, you can receive the following Pokemon Go trade cost discounts:

Pokemon Go: Rules And Restrictions On Special Trades
In Pokemon GO, Special Trades constitute any trade between players involving Legendary Pokemon, shiny Pokemon, Pokemon purified from a shadow form, and Pokemon that have not yet been registered in a trainer’s Pokedex.
As previously stated, these trades can only be performed once per day, and they possess a higher cost in Stardust to complete. However, the higher the friendship level between two Pokemon GO trainers, the lower this increased Stardust price becomes.
Niantic has explained the reasoning behind this increased cost for special Pokemon and newer friends.
Suppose new players were able to traffic in Legendary or other rare Pokemon many times per day without a significant Stardust cost. In that case, a black market could be formed that would allow players to obtain incredibly powerful Pokemon early on at little to no cost, throwing off the balance of Pokemon GO significantly.
Niantic stated as much in a blog post in 2018:
“We think that gating these trades behind a high Stardust requirement works to prevent exploitation and the creation of a black market, which would devalue the hard work of Trainers who have managed to encounter and catch rare or powerful Pokémon.”
In addition to these limitations, there are certain trades that are banned outright in Pokemon GO, including:

How To Trade Pokmon In Pokmon Go
Trading has always been a significant part of Pokémon. In core games, you simply cannot “catch ’em all” without trading. Although it isn’t quite as necessary in Pokémon Go, Trading does allow you to exchange your extra Pokémon with other players for the Pokémon you still need or simply want. But, it’s the way you trade Pokémon in Pokémon Go especially Legendary, Mythical, Shiny, perfect, and new Pokédex entries that’s so interesting… and expensive. What does that mean? Read on!
