Game Announcement And Press Releases

How To Fix White Shop Screens In Pokémon Go, And Why You Will WANT A Three Star Shiny Gengar!

Game was firstly announced on September 9th, 2015, the project Pokémon GO was announced by Niantic Labs, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. At the same time the initial trailer of the game was released.

Following questions were answered during the press conference with Niantic and Nintendo.

Q: How are Pokémon going to appear and how are you going to catch them, game mechanics-wise?

A: So, Im not so sure how many people here have played Ingress and the Pokémon games, but if there are anyone in the audience whove played both games, you might get a better idea of what its like. On your mobile device youll have a map, and on that map Pokémon will appear. Youll go there, youll encounter them, and youll try to catch them. Whether youre able to do that or not theres a variety of factors. And then of course you can use those Pokémon to battle other players. Its very similar to the concepts that were shown in the trailer.

Q: Wont this game compete with the traditional games?

A: This is obviously something we discussed in great length with Nintendo, and we needed to make sure the games wont cannibalize one another to use one expression. So after a long discussion, we found a way to make this game fit with smartphones, which so many people have. At the same time, have it so its not competing or cannibalize the sales of the traditional games, but rather augmenting and putting strength into those sales as well.

Gps Signal Not Found In Pokmon Go

Sometimes you are able to open Pokémon Go normally, but unable to do anything in the app due to the dreaded GPS Signal Not Found message. You may still be able to play the game, but you will experience frequent errors when trying to spin Pokéstops or interact with gyms.

While it could be the case that your device simply isnt able to connect to GPS due to connectivity issues, if the issue persists it could be an issue with app permissions. The location permission must be enabled for the game to work properly.

How to turn on Location settings in Pokémon Go

  • Open Settings.
  • Find and select Pokémon Go.
  • Tap Permissions.
  • Toggle Location.
  • Join A Team And Battle

At a certain point in the game, you’ll be asked to join one of three teams. Once you join a team, you’ll gainthe ability to assign your Pokémon to open Gym locations or to a Gym where ateammate has already assigned a Pokémon. Each player can place only one Pokémonper Gym, so you’ll need to work together with other members of your team tobuild up a strong defense. Like PokéStops, Gyms can be found at real-worldlocations.

If a rival team has claimed a Gym,you can challenge it by using your Pokémon to battle the Pokémon defending theGym. You choose which of your Pokémon will join in the battle. Each Pokémon hastwo kinds of attacks, and can also dodge the defending Pokémon’s attacks if youswipe left or right. If your Pokémon win the battle, the motivation of thedefending Pokémon is reduced. When the motivation of each defending Pokémondrops to zero, the defending team loses control of the Gym, and you or anotherplayer can then take control of it by assigning a Pokémon to defend it.

What, did you think there were no micro-transactions in innocent little Pokémon Go? Of course, the only real way to play for free is to acquire Coins by assigning a Pokemon to defend a gym. Pressing the Shield will get you 10 coins and 500 Stardust per each Pokemon of yours defending that gym. However, you need to wait 21 hours before you can tap the Shield again! So be sure to defend the gym, or place Pokemon in multiple gyms! Ah, don’t you love Energy mechanics in mobile games?

    Pokemon Go White Screen 2019

Before we delve into our Pokemon Go White Screen 2019 fixes, lets take a look at what the problem actually is. As we mentioned, this problem has been around as long as the game has, and the issue stems from using the games AR mode to catch your Pokemon.

Reports on the Pokemon Go and The Silph Road sub-Reddits have shown that its reared its ugly head, and these reports have been coming in since the game received a patch last week. That update introduced a change to Trainer Battles and brought in the Appraisal system, but none of these affect how you catch Pokemon.

Either way, if youve experienced this youll have run into a blank screen. Whether its the in-game map or being unable to see Pokemon to chuck Pokeballs at to catch them, you wont be able to do a thing.

What To Do If Pokmon Go Wont Open

How To Download " Pokemon Go" & Start Trying To Catch

You are so ready to play the game and Pokémon GO wont open? Most of the time, the main reason why you cant open the game is that the servers are not working. Before you try other solutions, make sure the servers are actually working. You can see the current server status on the Pokémon GO Server Status web page. If you can open the app but you see a spinning Pokéball, it means that your smartphone is trying to connect to the server. The spinning ball usually vanishes in a couple of seconds, but if it stays it means the servers are down at the moment.

    Other workarounds:

    • Update the app
    • Restart your smartphone
    • Remove the app from your device and install it again. Data of the game is stored on the cloud meaning once you sign into the game you will be able to start where you left off.

    White Screen Bug Solution

The solution here was found by u/whoneedsselfesteem, now the fix isnt exactly permanent and the bug doesnt disappear. But at least you will not have to restart the app. The Redditor found that clicking randomly across the screen and tapping on another Pokemon on the game forces you back into the game, temporarily fixing the problem.

PSA: How to “fix” the white screen bug from TheSilphRoad

Since the white screen bug does not really crash the app, the screen is live in the background. You clicking randomly and selecting another Pokemon or Pokestop will refresh the app. As soon as you do this, you will be able to see the game and not the blank screen. It is still annoying to deal with though and there might be times when you dont have anything to click on. So if you blindly tapping does not fix it, please restart the app. Hopefully, Niantic works out a permanent solution soon!

    More Berries Than Ever

We explained in our primer that razz berries are items you can feed a Pokemon to slow it down before you capture it. Updates have introduced multiple types of berries that each have different effects.Nanab Berries: Use these berries to slow down a wild Pokemon’s movements. Strategic use of these can be key to capturing a particularly elusive ‘Mon.Pinap Berries: These double the amount of Candy you get as a reward if your next attempt to capture a Pokemon succeeds. It’s a bit of a risk though, because if you fail to capture your next target the berry goes to waste.Razz Berries: Mechanics haven’t changed here. Razz Berries can still be fed to a wild Pokemon to make it easier to catch.Golden Razz Berries: Like their less shiny cousins, the Golden Razz Berries have the same function of making it easy to capture wild Pokemon, but are much more powerful. You can use berries in tandem with a stronger Pokeball to catch particularly feisty or extremely rare Pokemon that cross your path. However, don’t use multiple berries at a time since their effects don’t stack. One of the aspiring trainers right here in the PCMag Labs caught themselves a Dragonair doing just that. Feed the Pokemon a razz berry, take out a Great Ball, give it some good arc on your throw, and catching just got a whole lot easier.
