The mobile gaming phenomenon incentivizes players to visit local landmarks, meet new people, and exercise all while catching Pokémon. But then Covid-19 happened. So Niantic got creative. The developer increased the distance users could interact with Gyms and PokéStops, essentially enabling people to play the game without leaving their homes.
A year later, vaccines mean life is slowly inching back to normal for many of us. And in a June 21 blog post, Niantic announced plans to scrap the games social distancing features, noting that the changes will happen after Pokémon Go Fest ends July 18. That prompted 118,000 players to sign a petition on Change.org, urging Niantic to keep these safety measures in place.
A Niantic spokesperson tells Inverse it was only ever supposed to be a temporary fix and users will need to get back outside if they want to play the game once the changes go into effect.
Last year, we increased the interaction distance to nearly the length of a football field. Its tough to discover new places at this distance. Were going to revert the expanded interaction distance in countries and regions where it makes sense to help restore the focus of the game on exploration and discovery, the spokesperson explains.
Niantic maintains it is testing the waters in countries with fewer daily COVID cases.
What Happened To Team Go Rocket In ‘pokmon Go’
According to Niantic, many players were facing issues with their Team GO Rocket encounters in-game, leading to bugs that made their play experience unenjoyable. In a statement on Twitter, the company revealed that all Team GO Rocket encounters would be unavailable for the time being.
“Trainers, while we investigate errors associated with Team GO Rocket encounters, they will be temporarily unavailable,” the tweet read. “We’ll update here with more information. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
This means that for the moment, players won’t be able to find the Team GO Rocket balloons once every six hours or find grunts at their local Poké Stops. Rocket Radars will also not work at the moment, since none of the Team GO Rocket grunts will be available for battle until further notice.
Many players reportedly found that during encounters with the balloons and grunts, their game would freeze, forcing many to come up with workarounds that were not readily known to most players.
As of this writing, Niantic has also removed the previous announcement stating that there would be an increase in Team GO Rocket appearances during Rivals week. It does not appear like there are any other opportunities being substituted in place of Team GO Rocket right now. In the meantime, players will have to pursue some of the other challenges and activities while waiting for more news.

Talk To Your Customers
Pokémon Gos decline has been characterised by a consistent lack of communication. The catalyst was arguably the removal of Pokémon tracking. While far from ideal, this could have been managed with better communication, but instead some players were left so disillusioned that they requested refunds.
The developers did not forewarn of major changes, and did not communicate afterwards, leading to the claim that silence is killing Pokemon Go.
This has not been an isolated incident the developers communicated only intermittently about server outages, offering very little information about why they had happened, how long the disruption was expected to last, or whether it was the work of hackers.
The final lesson is here is that communicating with your customers is paramount, particularly when things go wrong. Otherwise, you risk losing their confidence that you care about them and know how to fix the problem. If you have to make unpopular decisions, at least communicate the reason for those decisions and present a plan to assuage consumers concerns.

What Happened To All The Pokemon Go Players
Pokémon Go is in rapid decline. Since launching in July and soaring in popularity, it had lost at least a third of its daily users by the middle of August. By mid-September, daily revenues had fallen from US$16m per day to US$2m and daily downloads had declined from a peak of 27 million to 700,000. So what happened?
Many mobile games especially ones that trigger a worldwide craze suffer declines in usage over time. Pokémon Go still generates significant revenues. But its precipitous decline has seen it labelled a fad and nicknamed Pokémon Gone.
This raises the question of why usage has dropped so steeply, and what other game companies might do differently to retain users. In my opinion, Pokémon Gos creators Niantic have made several significant missteps. Here are the lessons that other companies can learn.

Community And Cultural Impact
Eduardo Paes, then-mayor of Rio de Janeiro, stated that he hoped the app would be released in Brazil before the start of the 2016 Summer Olympics in the city , and United States presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton mentioned the app during their 2016 election campaigns. In late July 2016, during a public address, the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, compared a political issue about the date of an incoming referendum as preposterous as the hunt for the Pokémon. In September 2017, a series of events named “Safari Zone” was held in Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers in Oberhausen, Paris and Barcelona, with events the following month in Copenhagen, Prague, Stockholm and Amstelveen.
Pokmon Go Fest Moving Forward
Pokémon GO Fest’s biggest problem in the past was that it was too small to host such a large community. The event celebrated the community, but the truth is, there are many communities all over the world that play this game. Fitting them all into a central location does not do justice to the people that the game has brought together.
Caitlin Callaghan, a trainer who attended last year’s GO Fest, and participated in this year’s GO Fest believes that GO Fest should happen everywhere. “I believe it should offer a ticket for everywhere, moving forward,” she said. “Many players want to take part, but for monetary, time, or obligation reasons cannot make the trip to a central location. The physical constraints of a real-world location mean that there will be many more people who want to attend than the venue capacity would allow.”

In my own personal group’s experience, it’s been difficult for us to justify traveling for the event. We were overjoyed to hear that we were going to participate in this year’s festivities. My friend said “I always felt left out whenever it was held in Chicago. It was the first time I felt like I was part of that event and want to do it again.” It would be a mistake for Niantic to go back to the way things are after more people got to participate in the event this year.

Catch Lucario In Pokmon Go
Because Lucario cannot be caught in the wild and can only be evolved, players will need to get their Riolu first. Each of the Eggs is largely up to chance, and because Riolu has such a low spawn rate, there is no way to guarantee a player will be able to get Lucario.
If a player does manage to hatch Riolu from an Egg, they can evolve it into Lucario using Candy. It takes 50 Rare Candy to evolve Riolu into Lucario, so players will want to save up.
Unfortunately, players may need to spend real money to finally get their hands on a Lucario in Pokémon GO. They may also want to try to participate in as many events as possible to take advantage of any improved chances to nab this extremely rare and popular Pokémon.

Do Not Remove Popular Features
Besides failing to introduce new features, Pokémon Go also removed popular ones. This is likely to alienate players, especially if done with little explanation some commentators have branded the game broken.
In Pokémon Gos case, the feature in question was Pokémon tracking. A core aspect of the game is that it creates a virtual representation of the players real-world location, which is then populated with Pokémon characters for players to collect by walking around. But to catch Pokémon, players need to know where they are and without Pokémon tracking, players are left wandering aimlessly and relying on luck to find them.
Pokémon tracking was relatively rudimentary in the game itself, and arguably did not work at all. This led several third parties to create their own Pokémon tracking apps that became crucial to dedicated players. In other words, players accepted the original broken feature because third-party apps let them circumvent it.
However, the developer, Niantic, subsequently disabled these apps by cutting off their data access and sending them cease and desist orders. This effectively removed a feature that many players regarded as essential.
The developers have arguably repeated this gaffe by disabling the game for players with rooted android devices a relatively common hack that lets phone users change their administrative settings or bypass restrictions imposed by telecommunications providers.

Florida police used a stun gun on a player who allegedly resisted arrest after officers tried to clear a Tampa park after closing time.
Police alleged that everyone except 20-year-old David T. Mastrototaro-Baermude complied with officers’ commands to leave the park. Mastrototaro-Baermude allegedly grabbed an officer’s arm, spurring the use of the stun gun. Mastrototaro-Baermude was reportedly arrested without further incident.

Terrible Things Happening To Pokemon Go Players
The mobile game Pokemon Go has the world on its feet and out the door, but the trend is also spelling danger for some unlucky players.

Police say Campos, 18, tried to rob Pokemon Go players in Las Vegas before a shootout left him and a player injured. He now faces charges of conspiracy, robbery, battery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Suspected Robber Lures Players
On July 10, 2016, police in Missouri arrested three adults and one minor on suspicion of armed robbery. Police in the city of O’Fallon say the suspects used Pokemon Go as a tool to target victims.
“The way we believe it was used is, you can add a beacon to a Pokestop to lure more players,” the city’s police department said in an official release via Facebook. “Apparently they were using the app to locate people standing around in the middle of a parking lot, or whatever other location they were in.”
Pokmon Go Removes Tier 2 And Tier 4 Raids
Niantic has announced that they will be removing Tier 2 and Tier 4 raids from Pokémon GO. Both tiers were in a weird place difficulty wise, and the removal should make it easier to balance rewards and raiding difficulty across the board. Heres what Niantic :
Trainers, weve made some changes to the raid tiers:
- There will no longer be two-star or four-star raids.
- Pokémon from two-star and four-star raids have been added to the tier below them, respectively.
- Rewards for one-star raids and three-star raids are increased to what two-star and four-star raids awarded, respectively.

What Happened To Pokmon Go
The year is 2016. You and you friends put on your shoes, grab your phone and head out for the hunt. The beasts you are searching for Pokémon. Pokémon Go changed the way people thought about video games forever. This was the first highly popular game that gave players the opportunity to use virtual reality in order to get closer to their favorite Pokémon.

Players would walk around while looking at a virtual world through their phone and every once in a while, a Pokemon would appear, allowing the player to capture it and then later use it to battle other players. There were also special places surrounding popular parts of town that would be hotspots for finding rare Pokémon. The game was a gigantic success and took over the world for a little while.
This is not to say that the game did not come without any issues. With it being controlled directly from players phones, it immediately started distracting players while they were driving, as they realized they were able to capture more Pokémon and progress faster in the game if they were driving. According to an analysis, the game caused over 250 traffic deaths in the first 150 days it came to the United States.

How To Find Lucario In Pokmon Go
Lucario is one of the most popular Pokémon. In Pokémon GO, it is extremely rare and can only be evolved from Egg-exclusive Riolu.
Since its explosive release in 2016, Pokémon GO has consistently added new Pokémon that will spawn in a players own neighborhood. While players are most likely to encounter common Pokémon like Rattata and Pidgey, there are also plenty of chances to find a rarer spawn at gathering places in the neighborhood. One Pokémon a player may likely have yet to encounter is Lucario.
