The Pokémon GO Tour: Johto represents the grand finale of the Season of Heritage and the month of February but before the big event begins, preparations are needed. These will last a whole week and end one day before the Tour. Niantic hasnt revealed the exact contents yet, but its supposed to be all about Pokéballs. That makes sense, after all, youll need massive supplies during Johto Tour, which will need to be amassed first.
How To Prepare For A Spotlight Hour In Pokmon Go
If youre planning on taking part in a Spotlight Hour, then theres a couple of ways you can prepare for the event.
The first is to ensure that you have enough Poké Balls and berries. You only have an hour to catch as many of the chosen Pokémon as possible you dont want to waste it spinning PokéStops.
The second is to ensure that you have space left in your Pokémon Storage Box. Just like with items, you dont want to waste some of the Spotlight Hour transferring unwanted Pokémon, unless the current bonus is double transfer candy.
Thirdly, its worth checking to see if you have any spare lures. Using a lure will increase the amount of Pokémon you encounter in the wild for half an hour, so, if you use one during the Spotlight Hour, it should also help you encounter more of the mystery Pokémon.
Finally, since Mystery Bonus Hour has now been merged with this event its a good idea, depending on the bonus, to use a spare Lucky Egg or Star Piece during this hour.
This will further increase the XP or Stardust bonus you receive, which is a great advantage if youre trying to climb the level ranks of Pokémon Go quickly, or to build out your team for the Go Battle League.
Used wisely and with the right Spotlight Bonus, its an effective way to get XP fast in Pokémon Go.
What Are The Odds Of Finding A Shiny Pokmon In Pokmon Go
Currently, most estimate Shiny encounters outside of events at 1/400, but during events the chances are much higher, sometimes even as high as 1/20. Even outside of events, however, this is a dramatic increase from the 1/4096 base rate in core games, or 1/512 using both the Masuda Method and a Shiny Charm.
That having been said, Its still random, so you can get a Shiny right away, or it might take you two or even three times as long as someone else. Your best bet to finding Shiny Pokémon is to tap on every single Pokémon that spawns.

How Can I Prepare For Pokmon Go Spotlight Hours And Bonus Hours
Assuming the headlining monster is one youre interested in, we would recommend that you start stockpiling useful items ready for Spotlight Hours. You should make sure you have:
- Enough Pokéballs and Pinap Berries to catch and evolve Spotlight Hour Pokémon
- Extra Ultra Balls and Razz Berries on hand to nab any hard-to-catch Pokémon that pop up
- Lures to draw the featured Pokémon to you might be a good idea, although Spotlight Hour events don’t increase Lure time like their Community Day counterparts, so you’ll only get 30 minutes from a Lure
- Sufficient space in your Pokémon Storage Box for all the Pokémon you’re going to catch – you only have an hour, remember, so don’t waste it doing admin you could have done beforehand
- Lucky Eggs, Star Pieces and Super Incubators on standby

Are Shiny Rates Boosted During Spotlight Hour
Shiny rates do not appear to be boosted during Spotlight Hours, based on data gathered by Pokémon community The Silph Road. However, the sheer number of Pokémon that spawn during the hourlong weekly event will give you an improved chance of clicking on a random shiny. The more Pokémon you click on, the more opportunity you have to catch a Shiny Pokémon.

The Shroomish spotlight hour in Pokémon Go begins at 18:00 local time on January 19th.
While it begins at the above hour, the Shroomish spotlight hour in Pokémon Go will then finish at 19:00 local time on the same day.

Gen IIIs Shroomish is getting a Spotlight Hour on . The limited-time event officially kicks off 6PM and ends at 7PM, local time.
Preparation for these Spotlight Hours is key as well, because 60 minutes isnt much time at all and you dont want to waste it by visiting PokeStops. Stock up on Pokeballs and berries beforehand, and youll be good to go.
A top tip is to use a lure beforehand, as it will increase the amount of Pokemon you encounter in the wild for half an hour.
When Do Pokmon Go Bonus Hours Usually Take Place
Ssince April 2020, Niantic has combined the Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour and Pokémon GO Mystery Bonus Hour into a single weekly event that takes place on Tuesday evenings.
Mystery Bonus Hours were originally held on Thursday evenings every week and lasted for 1 hour, from 6pm to 7pm in your local timezone, although Niantic combined both events into one and began announcing the bonuses in advance.

The Shiny Rates At Community Day The Eevee Community Day Example
Eevee is the main theme of August 2021 Community Day in Pokémon Go, which will sees the highly adaptable Pokémon have increased spawns across an entire weekend .

Do Shiny Pokmon Perform Differently In Pokmon Go
Nope. Shiny Pokémon have the same stats as non-Shiny variants. Which is to say, a range. You can catch a perfect Shiny Magikarp, but you can also catch a not-so-great one. They also have no special movesets or powers of any kind. Aside from looking different, theyre exactly the same.
However, Community Day is the easiest time to catch Shiny Pokémon. If evolved during the event window, Shiny Pokémon will get the exclusive move just like the normal featured Pokémon, so a lot of Shiny Pokémon do have that exclusive move.
Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour Bonus
The Shroomish Spotlight Hour coincides with this months Mystery Bonus. On January 19, players can get double catch Candy during the celebration.
Players looking to evolve their Shroomish into a Breloom should take advantage of this. The reason being, they will earn double the Candy when they catch Shroomish, allowing them to evolve their favorite creature in less time.
Unfortunately, Shroomish isnt currently available as a Shiny variant in Pokemon Go, but were hoping that will change soon.

There are plenty of events for you to participate in during February, including a new series of Spotlight Hours for you can earn exclusive rewards and capture a variety of Pokémon. These are all Pokémon appearing in the February 2022 Spotlight Hour events in Pokémon Go.
The Spotlight Hour is when a single Pokémon has a ridiculously high chance to spawn. It usually means you see somewhere from three to nine of them around you without having to visit a particular location. Every Tuesday, the Spotlight Hour event has a new Pokémon for only an hour. The event is open to everyone, but you need to have your Pokémon Go application available from 6 PM to 7 PM in your timezone.
