Rarest Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO | What shinies have value?

These three Legendary Pokemon are very fascinating, as they’re the only Legendaries that can spawn in the wild, and they still can! Most Legendaries rotate in and out of raids, but these three are always available.

However, that’s not to say they’re common. They’re incredibly, incredibly rare. On top of their rarity, they’re also region-locked! Many people were able to get them by finding someone in another region while they were in raids, since you can now raid remotely, so it’s probably best to wait until that’s possible again.

Pokemon Go Shiny List: Every Shiny Pokemon You Can Catch

The Pokemon Go shiny list just keeps getting bigger, with recent additions from Gen 5 like Shiny Patrat and Shiny Watchog. In 2021, Pokemon Go‘s first generation of cute critters have now nearly all had shiny treatment, and the other generations are catching up fast. It can be daunting figuring out which shiny Pokemon you still need to grab, but luckily we’ve created this Pokemon Go shiny list – broken down by generation – to help.

How To Get Pokmon Go Shinies

Players have a roughly one in 400 chance to encounter a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO, which is really good odds in comparison to the main series games. However, there are opportunities to get even better odds that occur regularly.

The best opportunities are during Community Days, which focus on a single Pokémon. Community Days vastly increase the shiny odds and also offer an exclusive move for evolving the featured Pokémon.

If you want an experience with shiny odds boosted for more than one Pokémon, your best bet is GO Fest or the Safari Zone events that occur irregularly. As youve read above, Pokémon GO Fest 2021 will offer boosted odds on seven new shinies, as well as boosting everything else thats appearing in the wild.

Were not sure if the raid bosses will have boosted shiny odds just yet, but were keeping our fingers crossed so we can fill out our shiny dex with some more off-colour legendaries.

Some Special Research also offers guaranteed shinies as a reward. The All-in-one 151 Special Research guarantees a shiny Mew as a reward, for instance, and the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto Special Research rewarded players with a shiny Ditto. Sadly, these tasks are no longer available , but we expect more to come, perhaps starting with Meloetta in the Pokémon GO Fest 2021 Special Research.

Every Trade Tells A Story

One thing I started to notice as my journey progressed and I passed the 60 shiny mark, was that I could really tell a lot about the kind of trainer who had sent me a Pokémon by the nickname they had given it.

Shiny Pokémon are rare, and as such, seeing them with nicknames is pretty common. You cant rename a Pokémon traded to you so youre stuck with whatever nickname its previous owner has given it. I honestly love that it tells a story about the kind of person who found it.

Warm Hugs the Ninetails and Jelly Belly the Snorlax were both unexpected finds, from players less invested in shiny hunting. Their names show that they were loved catches, caught by trainers who were excited to stumble upon them and had named them with affection.

Comparatively, I received a Horsea named T-S-Horsea and a Seadra called T-S-Horsea2 from a trainer with a much more methodical and clinical naming system. I figured out that the T stands for timid, the best nature for a Horsea . S stands for shiny, and Horsea2 shows that Seadra was caught as a Horsea and evolved later. Its a naming system that says a lot about the serious way its owner played the game.

Whats Your Favorite Legendary Shiny Pokemon?

No. Magikarp was removed from the Ditto potentials shortly after Shiny Magikarp became available, and the same has held true for other common Pokémon since. However, on February 20, 2021, the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event will unlock the remaining Gen 1 Shiny Pokémon, including Ditto. It is unclear if this means that Pokémon with the potential to be Shiny will be able to be Ditto or if Niantic will handle Shiny Ditto differently than other Shiny Pokémon.

Pokemon Go Shiny Pokemon

Pokemon GO Shiny Pokemon will be regarded as costumes, an example of this would be the Santa Pikachu. This will add a visual uniqueness, but will not effect the Pokemon Stats. This Feature was first introduced in the Second Generation. These types of Pokemon are meant to be rare and have cosmetic value, due to the difficulty of capturing them.

What Are Shiny Pokemon?

These types known as Shiny are simply recolors of the original Pokemon and will have a particle effect to go along with their new color. These are rare in nature and have high value into the future in terms of trading.

What Are Shiny Pokmon In Pokmon Go

Simply put, Shiny Pokémon are color variants. There is only one Shiny color variant per Pokémon. Some variants are obvious like Shiny Gyarados is red instead of blue. Others are more subtle, like Shiny Bulbasaur or Squirtle, which are the same color but slightly different shades. In the core games, every single Pokémon has a shiny variant, but in Pokémon Go, Shiny Pokémon are unlocked during Community Day, other events, or with updates.

If a Shiny isn’t unlocked, it doesn’t matter how many of that Pokémon you catch, you’ll never find a Shiny Pokémon. On the other hand, once unlocked Shiny Pokémon are far more common in Pokémon Go than they are in the core games, especially during events. Still, they’re pretty rare, so your best bet to finding Shiny Pokémon is to tap on every single Pokémon to spawn. Shiny checking takes time, but once you know which species can be Shiny, it is a lot easier.

Note: One other important thing to consider when Shiny Hunting, generally you cannot catch an evolved Shiny Pokémon. For example, if you tap on an Ivysaur on the map, it cannot be Shiny, even though Shiny Bulbasaur can be caught. There are rare events where this is not the case, and Mega Raids generally have the chance of being Shiny.

General Information

LGPE are the first main series titles to make an appearance on the Nintendo Switch. Instead of encountering Pokémon in the grass, LGPE have the wild Pokémon running loose on the Overworld! Wild Pokémon spawn out of the grass/water or in the sky and will remain on the Overworld for roughly 20-25 seconds before despawning. Some lower-leveled common Pokémon will stay for about 1-2 minutes, but I wouldnt test your luck. LGPE does the shiny roll differently than the other games. Instead of rolling as you encounter a Pokémon, the game does the roll a few seconds before the Pokémon spawns.

If you get a shiny roll, the shiny will appear on the Overworld in their shiny colors and surrounded by a set of shiny sparkles. These sparkles are different from the red and blue auras that will surround large and small Pokémon that give you a catch bonus when captured. Please keep in mind that a Pokémon can be shiny and also have a size aura around it, thus hiding the sparkles a bit. Shiny Pokémon still have the same despawn time as every other Pokémon in the game. If youre not careful, you could lose yourself a shiny.

Getting Supplies Ready

This last part is completely optional. The Player 2 option in the game lets you play with someone else while catching Pokémon. If you both throw a Pokéball in sync, you have an increased catch rate. You can control both joycons yourself to catch Pokémon for that boost.

Your Buddy Cant Be Shiny

Pin by Matilde Aima on Lynk

Although its possible to find a shiny Pikachu or Eevee in the world, it has been confirmed that your actual Buddy Pikachu for Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu, and your Buddy Eevee in Pokemon Lets Go Eevee, cant spawn as a shiny. Thats right, your Partner Pokemon cannot be shiny, regardless of the number of times you reset the game. Sorry folks. However, it is worth resetting the game a few times if youre looking for a female version of Pikachu and Eevee as theyre rarer than the male ones.

How Are The Colors Of A Shiny Decided

Back in the day when Game Freak released Pokémon Gold and Silver, for the first time ever you had a chance of finding a different colored version of a Pokemon, also known as shiny version of that Pokémon. The design team had to figure out how to do the colors for these Pokémon, but at the time the limited color palette on the Gameboy Color only allowed specific colors, so to accommodate this, the shinies were determined by hue shifting the current palette used to colorize a Pokémon. This caused some Pokémon to look totally different in color, but some werent nearly as special.

As some time passed between 2nd and 3rd generations, some Pokémon got face-lifts on their colors. They were mostly hand picked, like Charizard: having its purple colors changed to black, with red wings instead of green.

Shiny Charizard Shiny Charizard

Once the sixth generation came along, the design team wasnt hindered to having to just use color palette swaps, but was able to finally hand pick colors. This expanded the way that shiny Pokémon can be colored.

How To Catch Shiny Spoink During Pokemon Go’s Spotlight Hour

  • Incense: This increases the overall spawn rate of all Pokemon in the area. Use this item for a better chance of finding a Shiny Spoink.
  • Fast Catch Trick: To maximize the number of Pokemon players encounter, they should do the fast catch trick in Pokemon Go. This allows players to skip the capturing animation when encountering Pokemon and saves tons of time.
  • Run: If players aren’t comfortable with the Fast Catch Trick, they can just run away every time they encounter a Spoink that isn’t Shiny. This will also save time between encounters.
  • Lure Modules: Similar to Incenses, this item allows players to increase the spawn rate of all nearby Pokemon. Players can use this item with friends and increase the chances of one of the players finding a Shiny Spoink. Take turns to alleviate the responsibility.

Players will have a much harder time finding a Shiny Spoink outside of this Spotlight Hour but it’s not impossible. The game will host its Psychic Spectacular event where the spawn rate of Psychic-type Pokemon will have their spawn rates increased drastically. The odds will need to be in their favor to find a Shiny Spoink.

Why Its Rare: Release Date: Generation and Pokédex Number: Appearance Rate:

The Shiny versions of Party Hat Nidorino and Party Hat Gengar are some of the rarest Shinies in Pokémon GO. The Party Hat versions of both Pokémon were released during a special Nidorino and Gengar Raid Day event that only lasted between 2PM to 5PM local time. Due to this, players had a very small window of opportunity to try and catch a Shiny Party Hat Nidorino and/or Gengar.

According to some reports of the events, most players were focused on catching Party Hat Gengars, making Shiny Party Hat Nidorino the rarer of the two special event Pokémon. Now, the only way to get a Shiny Party Hat Nidorino and Shiny Party Hat Gengar is through a trade and some enterprising players selling these Pokémon on eBay.

What Is The Rarest Shiny Pokemon In Pokemon Go

Shiny Pokemon are the most wanted Pokemon in the mobile game Pokemon Go. These creatures are rare to find especially as wild spawns. This version has a different color palette than the regular version, and sometimes those colors can make a Pokemon look even cuter than it is.

To have a Shiny Pokemon in your collection is a blessing since it is extremely rare to get an encounter with these versions of the regular Pokemon.

You may be asking yourself, how will I know which Pokemon is a Shiny one? First and foremost, a Shiny Pokemon has different colors than the regular one, even though sometimes this difference can not be spotted right away. There is no difference in stats nor in battles.

Usually, you can get one through an encounter or a Raid, but this is very rare. There is no trick on how to get one, unfortunately, and it all depends on RNG.
