Pokmon Strength And Weakness Chart

The chart below will let you know which attacks to use and which to avoid based on Pokémon type.

For instance, a bug-type Pokémons bug attacks are super effective against grass-, dark-, and psychic-type Pokémon. However, bug-types take increased damage from any fire-, flying-, or rock-type moves.

Keep this chart handy whenever youre facing off against any trainers and especially during your Gym Challenges, as each of those trainers specializes in specific Pokémon.

As an example, the first major trainer you fight in Pokémon Sword and Shield is Milo, who specializes in grass-type Pokémon. Looking at the chart below, youll want to make sure that you have some Pokémon that can do bug-, fire-, flying-, ice-, or poison-type attacks in your roster. You may also want to take any ground-, rock-, or water-types out of that match sorry Sobble starters!

Knowing type match ups will be helpful in just about any battle, especially when youre trying to catch Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon.

All Pokmon Dens And Their Max Raid Battles

The raids offered in each den differ between Sword and Shield. We’ll include the Pokémon that are likely to appear in either version. We also list the Pokémon in order of how likely they are to appear within each den. However, if a den is home to a Gigantamax raid, we list the Gigantamax Pokémon first, even though it’s the least likely to appear. Hopefully that helps you find all of the raids you’re looking for faster.

How To Evolve Pichu

You might be wondering how to evolve Pichu to play with the series mascot, Pikachu. Hes pretty iconic, after all. Well, that one is easy. When Pichu is leveled up with high enough friendship, it evolves into Pikachu. If you want to further evolve the line, Pikachu can evolve into Raichu when a Thunder Stone is used on it. Why not give every mouse in this electrifying line some time to shine? They all deserve it equally.

The First Pikachu Clone

Pichu has a very special distinction attached to his name being second. Thats right, Pichu is the very first second Pikachu, as Pikachu has a clone in every single generation.

RELATED: Pokémon: 5 Pokémon Well Probably See In The Next Gen

Technically you could count Raichu as a Pikachu clone if you really needed to but dont treat Raichu so dirty hes already ignored enough. Either way, Pichu kicked off a trend that introduced many new electric rats to the series throughout the years, such as Plusle, Minun, Pacharisu and many more. Most recently we received the very hangry boy Morepeko.

What Is The Biggest Weakness Of Gengar In Pokemon Go

As is typical in any Pokemon title, including Pokemon Go, precisely how strong a Pokemon is and what moves it uses may vary depending on the individual, but there are a few things that remain consistent across all versions of it.

Regardless of the stats, moves and other aspects of a Pokemon, Type is a constant we can use to target a weakness in any Pokemon, including Gengar.

Gengar is a Ghost/Poison dual-Type, which affords the troublesome ghost a fair few resistances including a very rare triple resistance and a nice handful of weakness options that you can target for a battle advantage.

Gengar, much like Tyranitar in a previous guide, has a lot of different type interactions due to its dual-type nature, that its much easier to simply list them together rather than cover them individually.

Gengar Resistances

  • Poison
  • Fighting

Fairy and grass are both standard resistances that reduce damage down to 62.5% of the usual. Types listed in italics deal only 39% damage, while Fighting is a very rare triple-resisted type, dealing a mere 24% of its intended damage.

Gengar Weaknesses

Gengar doesnt possess quite as many weakness options to list for Pokemon Go, but theres still a nice few to take advantage of. Note that all of these deal 160% of their usual damage.

  • Dark
  • Ground
  • Psychic

Going off this, you have a good number of approaches to try fighting Gengar with, though at the very least you absolutely must avoid using Fighting-Type moves.

Pokemon Sword & Shield: 10 Best Psychic

Psychic-types have historically remained one of the most overpowered typings in the Pokemon series. Many have received nerfs to their attacks and new weaknesses like Dark-type moves to prevent them from ruling competitive play, but even in Pokemon Sword & Shield, Psychic-types still remain incredibly dominant.

Galars pool of Psychic-type Pokemon is massive, and many more members are competitively viable than most members of the Pokedex. That being said, some are undoubtedly more powerful than others, and its worth having at least one of the most powerful members in your team if you plan to take on the Battle Stadium.

Most Popular Psychic Pokemon In Sword And Shield

Psychic-type Pokemon take a bit of a backseat in Sword and Shield, but there are still plenty of fan favorites that make an appearance.

There is no Psychic-type gym during the main story of Sword and Shield. In fact, a true Psychic-using main character doesn’t appear until the expansion, Isle of Armor. And that is only in the Shield version.

Nonetheless, there are still some decent Psychic-type Pokemon to catch in the game. Sword and Shield has brought back some popular creatures from the past and introduced some new Psychic-types that fans have become fond of.

Except For Sinnoh Alola And Galar

In three regions, you can find Pichu in the wild. Alola is going to be the quickest region to find him in, as he can be found as early in the game as Route 1. He also makes an appearance in Hauoli City. Sinnoh is another region you can find Pichu in the wild, specifically in the Trophy Garden, where he can be found with many of the other babies. Finally, Pichu can be found in various areas in the Wild Area of Sword and Shield. Maybe lil Pichu isnt as exclusive as we once thought he was.

Pikachu can be found along Route 4 in all weather, or in the Wild Area amidst the Rolling Fields and Stony Wilderness during thunderstorms. Max raid dens in Giants Cap, Giants Mirror, Hammerlocke Hills, Lake of Outrage, and Motostoke Riverbank, also host Pikachu battles.

The following lists will display five Pokémon per type with high attack stats and more than one strong and useful move per type. Not only that, these Pokémon will have complimentary abilities that will make them useful in Pokémon battles.

Weve also left off legendaries or any other Pokémon that would be difficult to catch or evolve. Each of these Pokémon will have a good array of moves in their type before level 50, making them all good candidates to bring you into the end game and beyond.

The locations of each are listed. In circumstances where the final evolution doesnt spawn in the wild, an earlier evolutions location is listed.

Pokemon Sword And Shield Is Throwing A Pikachu Mass Appearance Event

Look out for the Pikachu evolutionary line in Max Raid Battles.

Update : The Pokemon Company originally listed the end date for this event as August 16. Now, it has updated its announcement to reflect the correct date of August 9. Weve changed our post accordingly.

    Original Story:

Trainers, for a limited time, a Pikachu Mass Appearance event in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield will give you the chance to find Pikachu and the other members of its evolutionary line more often than normal in Max Raid Battles.

This event is running from now until August 9 at 4:59 p.m PT. During this time, you can encounter regular Pikachu, Gigantamax Pikachu, Raichu, Alolan Raichu, and Pichu more often than normal in Max Raid Battles.

In addition, theres the chance you may encounter Shiny Pikachu during this Pikachu Mass Appearance event.

If you search your own Wild Area and dont find any in Pokemon Dens, you can cause new battles to appear by completing all of the battles that are currently active. You can also throw Wishing Pieces into Dens to cause new Pokemon to appear instantly .

Finally, you can join other players in their Raids with these pocket monsters by connecting to the internet and searching for Raids on the games Y-COMM menu.

    Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Pichu made a return to the Smash series with Ultimate, as it brought every fighter who had ever been in the game back. However, things were very different this time around, as Pichus nimble attributes andhard-hitting attacks made the Pokémon TOP-TIER, even eclipsing Pikachu. Crazy, right? Pichu still damages itself in Ultimate, but the new Rage mechanic make that somewhat of a positive. Also, Spiky-eared Pichu is one of Pichus skins in the game. How fun!
