Take Very Good Pictures Of Your Cards
When you are ready to sell, you should know that the presentation of your listing is extremely important. Buyers will want to trust you and verify that your cards are the real deal.
Make sure your photo doesnt have any distracting objects other than the card itself. You should be sure the image is clear and close enough to the card so the buyer can view its appearance. Make sure to use a black or white background and take the photo in good lighting.

Graded Card Tracking Tools
An alternative option when selling your Pokemon cards is to grade them first.
Ive written extensively on the topic, so you might find these articles useful if youre new to the grading process.
Ultimately, by grading them you can potentially add value to the cards and sell them for more in the long-term.
Note: Grading cards takes a long time. Because there was such an increase in popularity, grading companies have a large backlog to work through. If you want to sell your cards imminently, this probably isnt for you. However, if youre willing to wait, this has the potential to make a greater return further down the line.
Once youre cards have returned, again you can look at eBay last sold prices, but theres another tool Im very fond of too.
PokemonPrice.com allows you to see how much particular PSA graded cards sold for, and it tracks the sales over time.
For example, here are the recent sales for a 1st Edition Base Set Alakazam Holo card.
Note the PSA grade in column two, and the sold price in column 3.
In my opinion, this is an incredibly useful tool for getting an idea of how much your cards might be worth if graded. The only caveat is that the Pokemon card market fluctuates, and just because cards sell for this price now, it doesnt mean they will when you finally get your cards back.
However, if youve got cards that match 2 or 3 of the criteria below, I would probably get it graded. Personal opinion of course!

How To Recognise Fake Pokemon Cards
Recognizing fake pokemon cards might be difficult for some people who are not conversant with the design of the card, but easier for people who have over time handled the cards.
However, if you are finding it difficult to spot the cards, below is the step-by-step guide to help you identify fake Pokemon cards.
1. The first step is to look at the back of the pokemon card that has blue. Genuine cards will always have a certain pattern featuring light blue as well as some spots of darker blue. Meanwhile, Fake cards have only one shade of blue which is either light or dark.
2. Check the Font and spelling on the card because fake cards often make spelling errors or use a different kind of font.
3. Check the energy symbols because fake cards usually have energy symbols overly larger than the normal inner artwork.
4. Check the Health points or damage because some fake cards use unrealistic damage or health point amounts. Generally, a Pokemon shouldnt have more than 300HP and shouldnt deal more than 300 damage in a single attack.
6. Check the Holographic effect because many fake cards feature an unusual holographic effect that genuine Pokemon cards do not have or do not feature at all.
8. Check the texture of the card because some fake pokemon cards feel different from the real ones when caressed. You can further clarify bending the potential fake card slightly to see if it wears off easily.
9. Check if the card has an accent over every single e in Pokémon.
