Nintendo has announced that Pokémon HOME will support compatibility with Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl starting early in 2022.

Pokémon HOME, Nintendos cloud-based Pokémon storage system, allows players to store and transfer Pokémon between compatible games, which will include Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. With its own National Pokédex and storage of up to 6,000 Pokémon with its Premium Plan, Pokémon HOME gathers Pokémon from across the series. As it evolved from the previous system, Pokémon Bank, players can transfer their old Pokémon over from the Bank as well as from the compatible Nintendo Switch and mobile games.

Pokémon HOMEcurrently supports Pokémon GO, Pokémon: Sword and Shield, Lets Go, Eevee! and Lets Go, Pikachu! While the exact dates for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearls compatibility have not been released yet, it has been confirmed that the Sinnoh remakes, as well as Pokémon Legends: Arceus, will be compatible with the storage system sometime after the release of Legends in 2022.

    • Pokémon with different forms in Go will default to a specific form in Home . Specifically this will alter forms to:
      • Castform Sunny/Rainy/Snowy – Castform Normal
      • Meloetta Pirouette – Meloetta Aria
      • Genesect Burn/Chill/Douse/Shock – Genesect Normal
    • Certain Pokémon require you to have caught them or registered them in your Pokédex first, in order for you to transfer them from Home to Sword and Shield. In brief, these are all of the legendaries/mythicals catachable in Sword and Shield via Dynamax Adventures, plus Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Victini and Genesect.     How To Receive Pokmon In Pokmon Home

    Now that you have transferred all the Pokémon you wanted from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME you will have to welcome them in their new home .

    • Launch Pokémon HOME
    • You will see this message: Do you want to receive this Pokémon? Click on Yes.
    • Tap on View Transferred Pokémon
    • Review your transferred Pokémon and tap Receive Pokémon
    • They will now appear in your box.

Transferring Pokémon from Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will help players fill out the Sinnoh section of the National Pokédex as some of these Pokémon cannot be caught in Pokémon: Sword and Shield.

    Its likely that Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will allow players to receive Mystery Gifts from Pokémon HOME, similar to Pokémon: Sword and Shield.
