To celebrate the release of POKÉMON Detective Pikachu Pillsbury created a delicious treat for Pokémon fans in the form of Pillsbury Ready to Bake! Pokémon Shape Sugar Cookies.
Each box contains 24 pre-cut cookies with Pokémon decorations. There are red cookies that look like Poké Balls and cookies that sport a yellow silhouette of Pikachu‘s iconic head. And because these cookies are ready to bake right out of the package, they’re fun and easy to make. There’s even a Pokémon-themed activity on the back of the box, so you can hone your puzzle-solving skills while you wait for the cookies to bake.
The Pillsbury Ready to Bake! Pokémon Shape Sugar Cookies were available in stores from mid May 2019 to the end of August 2019.

Strangely enough, I didnt see any of the Pokemon branded cereal with cards inside.
I went shopping at one of my local Walmarts for one of the General Mills cereal boxes with Pokemon cards included. I went to Walmart because the Galaran Ponyta is supposed to be exclusive to the Walmart cereals. EVERY box should have a foil Pikachu inside. Probably not. Did kids need more of a reason to eat Trix? Maybe? But are people excited for seemingly free Pokemon cards all the same? Of course, they are! Some people are even wondering if they can buy these boxes by the pallet. Sadly, Cookie Crisp fans are left out on this one.
It seems like real Reeses peanut butter, traditional fruit shapes and unicorn marshmallows arent really what sells cereal after all. Clearly, its cartoon childhood favorite characters that do the trick! They are the real cereal salesmen.
And come on, there are plenty of adults eating cereal for meals other than breakfast who will buy this because they work hard and can spend there money on whatever they please. Sometimes guilty pleasures have to win, more so when the cost is as cheap as a box of cereal.
That said with there being only twelve cards when there are eighteen types of Pokemon some types are not represented at all. In fact only seven types are represented. And the chance of getting repeat cards is high.
Okay, and now what many were waiting for here is the Spoiler Alert. Spoiler Alert the other cards available include Horsea, Bellsprout, Electabuzz, Gastly, Lickitung, Magnamite, Magmar, and Kangaskhan. And the exclusive foil in the family boxes is Bulbasaur.

The Reason Some Stores Are Putting Security Tags On General Mills Cereal
A few months ago, McDonald’s began to limit the amount of Happy Meals it gave out in an attempt to address the shortage caused by adults who wanted to collect the unique Pokemon cards included. Now, Food & Wine reports General Mills has attached security tags to their cereal boxes to stop people from opening and rifling through them while still in the store, in the hopes of finding a similar souvenir.
“We’ve actually gotten to this stage?” Pokemon Giveaways, an independent collector who runs their own Pokemon card giveaways, asked on . The issue of people ruining cereals in stores has generated substantial food waste and even left General Mills at risk of a product shortage, Food & Wine explains.
In their explanation of what treasure these cereal boxes hold, Forbes writes that General Mills joined McDonald’s celebration of Pokemon’s 25th anniversary by including a booster pack of three cards, one of which, a Pikachu, bears a stamp marking it as a commemoration for the 25 years. Another five are holographic reprints of preexisting cards. “They’re nice to have as a memento of Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary,” the piece concludes, “but don’t go breaking the bank trying to find them.” Evidently, no one heeded their opinion.
Pokemon Tcg Cards Available In Cereal Boxes For A Limited Time
The Pokemon Company has announced that Pokemon TCG cards will be included in select boxes of cereal until March 30.
More specifically, select Big G cereals will now include a pack of three Pokemon TCG cards highlighting Pokemon that were originally discovered just in the Kanto region. Each pack contains two common cards and one of four special foil cards of either Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander, or Cubone. If you do your shopping at Walmart, you also have the potential to cop an extra foil card for Bulbasaur.
So, if you want some on-the-house Pokemon cards, look for specially marked boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, Trix, and the official cereal of Satan .
There are a total of 13 collectible cards in all, so you shouldn’t have to buy too many boxes of sugary cereal to catch them all. Unless you have really bad draw luck, of course.
The Pokemon Company doesn’t disclose what other Pokemon are available apart of this special promotion, but it’s likely some of the more recognizable gen-1 Pokemon. However, it does warn to not drop your cards in your milk, unless of course you pull a Mr. Mime, then flush that sucker right down the toilet.

General Mills Faces Cereal Shortage As Pokemon Fans Buy Up Boxes For Cards
This is why we can’t have nice things.
As you may or may not know, Pokemon cards are back. And oh boy are some people really desperate to get a hold of them. Now, not even innocent boxes of cereal are safe.
The saga starts back in March, when General Mills and The Pokemon Company announced a collaboration that would find three-packs of certain Pokemon cards in Golden Grahams, Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms. There were 14 cards to collect in total, and every box would guarantee the happy kid supposedly eating the stuff would find one holographic Pikachu card, the rarer “shiny” cards you may remember coveting in your own childhood. Select retailers would also feature specific cards in their boxes.
While that sort of marketing giveaway sounds straightforward and innocent enough, it’s likely that neither Pokemon or General Mills properly prepared for what happened next. Inspired by a climate of get-rich-quick schemes in the era of NFTs, Dogecoin, and Gamestop stock, a mob of adults driven crazy by quarantine boredom savagely scoured entire towns to get their hands on what might be a valuable collectible they could flip for a profit.
That’s manifested in some pretty sad scenes in cereal aisles across the country. Cereal boxes containing the cards were ripped open and rifled through, left on the shelf in what I’d imagine is an unsellable condition.
Where The Cards Come From
Though the Pokemon TCG dates all the way back to 1996 in Japan and 1998 in the United States, the oldest original version of any card in this McDonalds set is from 2011. The Unova starters from Black and White, Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott, were all originally released as Black Star Promos in 2011. Black Star Promo cards are cards guaranteed to come with certain TCG products and feature a small black star where the icon for what set the card comes from would usually be.
Other cards in the set that were originally Black Star Promos are Treecko, Grookey, Torchic, Scorbunny, Mudkip, and Sobble. Additionally, the Piplup card was also given out as a Black Star Promo at the now mostly defunct US toy store chain, Toys R Us. Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott are also the only cards in this McDonalds set to feature artwork originally drawn by original Pokemon artist Ken Sugimori, who has been drawing for the franchise since its inception.

This is far from the first time there has been a McDonalds Pokemon promotion, or any fast-food company for that matter, as Pokemon has also been featured at Subway, Wendys, and Burger King. In fact, 12 of the 25 cards in the set have been in McDonalds sets in the past in some form or another, as McDonald’s has had cards included in Happy Meals on at least 10 different occasions.

Originally, the product was available in both a Red Version and a Blue Version, but the Red Version was later discontinued in favor of a Gold & Silver Version, which featured pasta shapes of Generation II Pokémon.

As part of the Pokemon 25th-anniversary celebration, General Mills introduced its Berry Bolt Pokemon-branded breakfast cereal. The cereal hit shelves late last year but didnt launch with any Pokemon cards inside. However, specially-marked boxes of General Mills cereal, including the Pokemon cereal, will have Pokemon cards in them starting on February 27, according to TheGamer. However, some fans are reporting that boxes are already on shelves, so keep an eye out for them.

Pokmon Scalpers Buy Up Cereal Boxes For Cards
Childhood fantasies of earning Pokémon cards from cereal boxes are being crushed as full-grown adult scalpers are stealing cards and ruining the fun.
Scalpers are reportedly stockpiling and even stealing special cereal boxes in an effort to scalp limited edition Pokémon trading cards. An ongoing promotion between the PokémonTrading Card Game and General Mills is part of the Pokémon‘s 25th anniversary celebration, with other partnerships in 2021 including McDonalds, Post Malone, and Katy Perry.
As part of the cereal box promo, there are 14 total Pokémon cards to collect from three-card Pokémon packs in specially marked General Mills cereal boxes. Some packs can include a Pikachu, Ponyta, or Gossifleur, each with special holofoil treatment. There are six total holofoil cards and eight regular cards to collect, but scalpers have made it extremely difficult for anyone to actually find the boxes in stores. While valuable Pokémon cards have always been highly sought after by collectors and investors alike, scalpers have begun to take too far since the trading card game’s sudden revival in popularity.

A trend also has scalpers breaking open cereal boxes in stores, ripping the promo cards from within before leaving the tampered box. Most supermarkets are forced to throw those boxes away, losing the profit from the cereal and wasting food. It’s a horrible tactic and ruins the fun of collecting.

The Pokémon Company has sent a collection of rare cards to the 8 year old boy who sold his Pokémon cards to fund his puppy’s medical treatment.
After selling his Pokémon card collection in order to raise funds for his puppys vet bills, the Pokémon Company has awarded the 8-year-old Bryson Kliemanns selflessness by sending him a collection of rare cards. Despite being first released in 1996, the Pokémon Trading Card Game has remained consistently popular with fans both young and old, with an overwhelming resurgence in popularity in 2020, resulting in a card shortage.
The budding Pokémon fan Bryson Kliemann, from Lebanon, Virginia, first noticed his puppy Bruces lethargic behavior while he was organizing his Pokémon card collection. Bruce was later diagnosed with parvo, a virus that is highly contagious to dogs, and treatment for the condition totalled almost $700, which his family could not afford. In an attempt to save his puppy, Bryson set up a roadside stand to sell his card collection, with a large sign advertising Pokémon 4 Sale. This garnered the attention of many news outlets, and as a result, the 8-year-old was able to raise the funds required for Bruce’s medical treatment.

The Pokémon Center 2010 Collector Marshmallow Tin, made of metal, featured images of Minccino, Audino, Emolga, Purrloin, and Blitzle on its packaging. The limited edition collector tin was only sold at the Pokémon Centers in Japan for a very limited time in November 2010. There were a total of five different collector tins, each with a different treat inside and a different figure attached to the top of the tin . The top of the collector tin opens, and there are ten marshmallow treats inside. Once the marshmallow treats are eaten, the buyer can use the tin as a storage container.

What Makes These Cards Special
Still, those who have been able to get their hands on the specially branded Happy Meals and cards have been posting their love for the McDonalds cards and the incredibly cute packing online. The set functions not just as a celebration of all the starter Pokemon from the games, but also as a kind of best-of for the Pokemon TCG, as the cards are all technically reprints of existing cards from previous Pokemon TCG sets. When compared to their original releases, the art, information, and attacks are all identical. What makes them special is the stamp of Pokemons 25th anniversary logo at the bottom right corner of the artwork on each card. The other unique feature is that there is also a holofoil version of each of the 25 cards available, and these holofoils have a special confetti pattern, a pattern only used for special promotions such as this.

It’s not just McDonalds who’s getting in on the food-themed Pokémon tie-ins this month. To celebrate the series’ 25th Anniversary, General Mills is now including booster packs including exclusive cards in boxes of select cereals.
What Are the Cards?
Each box comes with a booster pack containing three cards. While technically all of them are reprints from the Vivid Voltage and Darkness Ablaze sets, fix are holo foils. These are:
– Galarian Ponyta
– Hatenna
– Wooloo
Finally, one card will come stamped with an exclusive 25th Anniversary emblem, making it the standout collectors item in the set. This is, of course, Pikachu.

How Do I Get These Pokémon Cards?
As mentioned, these are a limited-time promotion found in certain boxes of General Mills cereal. So far packs have been found in Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Trix and Pokémon Berry Blast cereal. In North America you’ll be able to find these anywhere you normally buy cereal, but internationally it is going to be much more difficult.
Much like the McDonalds promotion, the cards have caused stocks of the cereal to fly off shelves. You may need to look in a few different stores before finding a box. Fortunately, it seems as if scalpers haven’t taken to this set quite as much as they have the McDonalds promotion, greatly increasing your chances of finding them.
