Pokemon GO Special Trades are transactions between trainers that involve rare Pokemon. It costs Stardust to perform and certain variants and species of Pokemon take more Stardust than usual to trade, but they are worth conducting.
These are the types of Pokemon that are considered a Special Trade between trainers in Pokemon GO:
- Pokemon not already in your Pokedex
- Legendary Pokemon
- Shiny Pokemon
- Pokemon with forms not already in your Pokemon
Only one Special Trade can usually be performed in Pokemon GO each day. However, Pokemon GO Fest 2021 will allow trainers to make up to six Special Trades each day over the weekend. The lifting of the Special Trades restriction in Pokemon GO starts Friday, July 16 at 4 p.m. EDT and ends Monday, July 19 at 2 a.m. EDT.
This allows for up to 18 Special Trades to be made in Pokemon GO this weekend.
How To Beat Darkrai Raid Guide And Best Counters
Darkrais weaknesses mean there are a bunch of good Pokemon that will help beat it in Pokemon GO.
In terms of Mega Pokemon, Mega Beedrill, Mega Lopunny and Mega Altaria are all solid choices.
Following that, Fighting-types are the ones youll be most likely using. The best options here are Lucario, Conkeldurr, Machamp, Hariyama, Breloom, Toxicroak, Sirfetchd, Blaziken, Emboar and Heracross
Other good choices in Darkrai raids are Zacian, Togekiss, Gardevoir, Genesect, Sylveon and Yanmega.
The best movesets for each of these Pokemon is as follows:
- Mega Beedrill Bug Bite/X-Scissor
- Mega Lopunny Low Kick/Focus Blast
- Mega Altaria Dragon Breath/Dazzling Gleam
- Lucario Counter/Aura Sphere
How Many Players Do You Need To Beat Darkrai In Pokmon Go
While it is techincally possible for two top level Trainers with the best counters to take on Darkrai, lower level players may need as many as six. Weather Conditions that may play into the battle include:
- Fog will boost Darkrai’s Ghost and Dark type moves.
- Cloudy weather will boost Darkrai’s Fighting type move, as well as all your Fighting and Fairy type counters.
- Rainy Weather will boost your Bug type counters.

How To Catch Darkrai
Catching raid boss Pokémon can be one of the toughest challenges in Pokémon GO. Players will want to conserve their Poké Ball throws since running out is the only way to miss out on a catch. Be patient, dont worry if you take too much time, there is no limit there. I like the circle-set move where you hold the ball until the circle reaches a level you are comfortable hitting. You always want to get Great or Excellent curveballs, so try to get it as small as is possible for you to hit every time. Once it is there just let go without throwing and wait for Darkrai to attack. When he does, grab the ball, curve it and throw so that it hits him right when the animation is done. This will hopefully guarantee every throw is a Great or Excellent curveball which will increase your chances quite a bit. And be sure to feed him a Golden Razz if you have spares.

Darkrai’s Performance In Pvp
While if released as an EX raid boss Darkrai will not be capable of going below 1500 CP, it may be possible in the future. In Great League, the Pitch-Black Pokémon has issues. Its incredibly attack-weighted stat distribution gives it a Haunter-esque level of bulk, but without Haunter levels of speed. It suffers from very consistent losses to common threats like Deoxys-Defense, Altaria, Medicham, Bastiodon, Probopass.its honestly easier to list things that Darkrai can beat . That said, pretty much anything Darkrai can beat also loses to other, more generally powerful threats. On the plus side, the only way to get a Great League Darkrai would be to trade a Lv15 one from research, and since Mythical Pokemon have traditionally been untradeable in the past, this likely will never be an issue.
In Ultra League, Darkrai remains probably too squishy for general use, but it does start to come into its own. Fairly strong matchups against Mewtwo, Metagross, and Giratina-Origin certainly make Darkrai a reasonable Pokémon to use, though it sadly lacks a super consistent win against Giratina-Altered, the most common Pokémon in the tier. For Ultra League, consider Darkrai a fairly niche pick, once again filling a role thats otherwise filled better by other Pokémon.

The Amount Of Stardust Needed To Trade In Pokemon Go

- Ultra Friend: 80,000
- Best Friend: 40,000
With that being said, waiting to become Best Friends in Pokemon GO with another Trainer will be the most beneficial way to get those good trades completed. The way to increase friendships in Pokémon GO is simple.
Just send and receive gifts with the other Trainer and battle together in Raids.
Battling in PVP battles will also help increase a Trainers friendship level in Pokemon GO. Although, the friendship level can only increase once per day, so checking it daily will be helpful.
Keep in mind that a Special Trade in Pokemon GO can only happen once per day. Lucky Trades is also a benefit when it comes to trading. Lucky Trades can be random, or if a Trainer becomes Lucky Friends with a Best friend, their next trade will result in a Lucky Pokémon in Pokemon GO.
Once a Lucky Trade is completed, the benefit of having a Lucky Pokemon is that a Pokemon GO Player can power up that Pokemon at half the cost. Therefore, if a Trainers Pokemon usually costs 5,000 stardust to power up, it will only cost the Trainer 2,500.
Something to remember is that when trading Pokemon, the stats of the Pokemon will change. If a Trainer has a 3* Charizard they are trading to another Trainer, it could result in a 2* or even a 1* Charizard once traded.

Darkrai Raid Counters Guide
Best Darkrai counters are strong Fighting and Fairy types, such as Machamp, Togekiss, Hariyama, Heracross, Toxicroak, Breloom and Gardevoir. Darkrai is weak to Fighting, Fairy, and Bug type moves. Darkrai is boosted by Fog weather. Darkrai perfect CPs from raids are:
- 2048 2136 CP for a regular encounter
- 2560 2671 CP for a weather boosted encounter
Due to relatively high defense, a high Attack stat and 22500 HP in raids, Darkrai is difficult to take down in smaller groups. A best case scenario is a super difficult trio under Cloudy weather that boosts strong Fighting types, but a duo is not possible.
That being said, our recommendation is that you have 2 6 high level trainers for Darkrai raids. For groups larger than 6, consider splitting into smaller groups for better raid rewards.
Darkrai is transferable but not tradable. Darkrai is a Dark-type Mythical Pokémon that was introduced in Generation IV, being a counterpart to Cresselia in the Lunar Duo.

Dataminers have discovered that an important bit of data related to the Mythical Pitch Black Pokemon, Darkrai, has been changed. Darkrais status has been changed to allow it to be transferred despite its status as a Mythical Pokemon. This change is very interesting as past Mythical Pokemon, such as Jirachi and Mew, have always been unable to be transferred due to the fact that each player is only able to catch one over the course of a Pokemon journey. The one exception to this is the mythical Deoxys, which has had the same status since its release in EX raids late last year.
Based on this, many are now speculating that Darkrai will make its long-awaited debut in EX raids following Shadow Ball Mewtwos encore.

The higher your level of friendship with someone, the less it costs to actually participate in the trade. Every trade requires spending a certain amount of stardust, which you only have so much of so its good to work on befriending folks, because youll want to save up that stardust for the real prizes.

Later down the line however, players participating in raids with a Remote Raid Pass will have a reduced attack power compared to players who are within touching distance of the raid. Pokemon Go is all about getting outside, after all.
Niantic has said that theyre going to continue adjusting and altering the Remote Raid Pass mechanics over time, including how many players can join a single raid group remotely along with the ability to raid with friends no matter their location. Before we get into the specifics of trading itself, lets start with 2020s big new feature trade evolutions.
In the mainline Pokémon games, theres a set of Pokémon that can only be evolved if theyre traded with another player. When Pokémon Go was released, these Pokémon were all evolved through candy, due to the lack of trading.
Now, however, trade evolution has been incorporated into Pokémon Go, offering a different evolution method for a specific group of Pokémon. These Pokémon are:
- Kadabra
- Karrablast
- Shelmet
Once youve traded one of the above Pokémon, the candy cost for evolving them into their third and final evolution will be reduced to zero. This will allow you to quickly add this new Pokémon to your Pokédex, while also gaining a powerful new team member.
If you dont have any fellow trainers to trade with, however, youll still be able to evolve these Pokémon with the candy.
It costs 100 candy to evolve Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler and Haunter from Gen 1.
It costs 200 candy to evolve Boldore, Gurrdurr, Karrablast and Shelmet from Gen 5.
Its also important to note that Pokémon that evolve using a combination of items and candy in Pokémon Go dont receive the trade evolution discount. Even though, in the mainline games, a requirement of their evolution is being traded with another player.
