Pokemon Go Raid Boss: January 2022 Schedule Mega Raids 5

Raids are an essential part of the Pokemon Go experience, and each month theres a new set of Pokemon from the popular 1-Star to the rare 5-Star Squad to battle and potentially get caught. Here is the current roster of the Raid bosses for January 2022.

January is supposed to be an exciting month for Pokemon Go players. Only one Community Day with Spheals involvement, the next stages of the Heritage Season will unlock and a special event inspired by the Kanto Power Plant at the end of the month.

For Raids, Trainers will have the chance to add a new form of Genesect with Shock Drive to their Pokedex, while Mega Aerodactyl will appear in Mega Raids for the first time, the long-awaited Pokemon Go launch.

It seems that from now on there will only be one Mega Evolved Pokemon appearing in Mega Raids, so it might become more difficult to get the Mega Energy you need.

Im Unable To Catch A Raid Boss After Defeating It

  • Use Razz Berries or Golden Razz Berries to increase your chances of catching the Raid Boss.
  • Hitting an excellent or great throw increases your chance of catching the Pokémon.
  • Patiently observe the Raid Boss movement and attack patterns and time your throw accordingly, so they dont move away from where you throw the ball or knock the ball away.
  • Spin the Premier Ball in a circular motion before you release it for a chance to receive a curveball bonus. In addition to earning extra XP, using a curveball decreases the chance that the Pokémon will break free.
  • Youll receive a number of Premier Balls for catching the Raid Boss. The number of Premier Balls you receive in a Raid Battle depends on how much damage you deal, whether the Gym is controlled by your team, and how quickly you defeat the Raid Boss. Take these factors into consideration when starting a Raid Battle and try to get as many Premier Balls as you can.

How To Find A Raid

REGICE IS THE NEXT LEGENDARY RAID BOSS IN POKEMON GO! REGICE RAID BOSS GUIDE!

Raid Battles only occur at Gyms, and if one is about to start nearby, you will receive an in-game notification.

You can also manually check for a Raid by using the Nearby feature. The number below the Raid egg image is the military time it will begin.

The symbols below mark the difficulty rating of the Raid Battle, up to five.

If a Gym is topped with an egg instead of a Pokemon, a Raid is about to begin. The timer above the egg denotes how long until the Raid Battle will begin.

If a Raid is already in process, you can see the silhouette of the Raid Boss, and you can tap the Gym to see how much time is left.Raids will usually be active for 45 minutes, giving Pokemon Go players plenty of time to seek out and try to defeat the Boss. You can see how much time is left above an ongoing Raid.

How To Raid Battle

Once you’ve found a Raid near you, you must physically go to the Gym, as you would do for a Gym Battle .

Tap on the Gym once the egg has hatched and use a Raid Pass to begin the process. You can choose your team of six Pokemon and then will be automatically joined with a group of 20 Pokemon Go players.

If you’d like, you can create a private group by creating and sharing a specific group code. You can also use this group code to determine who is on your team.

After the 100 second countdown, the Raid Battle will begin with how many people have joined the group. The set-up is almost exactly the same as a Gym Battle, except instead of battling multiple Pokemon, you only battle the Raid Boss. You will see the Boss’s health reduce as you and your teammates attack it.

If all of your Pokemon are knocked out, you can heal them and try again until the time limit is reached – this will not consume more Raid Passes.

If your team reduces the Boss’s HP entirely before the limit is up, you will have defeated the Raid Boss!

Once you have completed a Raid Battle, you can no longer interact with it. In other words, you can’t repeatedly defeat a Raid Battle.

The Season Of Heritage Continues

The Season of Heritage spans three months including December, January, and February. This month is the second portion of the overall event and it’s being spearheaded by Team Instinct Leader Spark.

Just like Blanche’s portion in December, Spark’s will include a new Timed Research challenge. This time around, you’ll need to earn XP by catching Pokemon. The challenge leads to encounters with rare Pokemon like Togetic, Goomy, and Cranidos as well as several items and other rewards. Completing the entire challenge by earning 240,000 XP will reward you with the Goomy Hat avatar item. This challenge is only available for Trainers who pre-purchase their ticket for the Johto Tour.

Zygarde Is Coming Soon

On December 3, 2020, Niantic released a trailer announcing that more PokéBalls will be available from PokéStops for the holiday period. However, the final frame of this video shows new Pokémon from the Kalos region.

As you can see, Zygarde is clearly coming to the game soon, as every other Pokémon in the shot is available now. As the video has a holiday theme, we expect them to appear soon.

The likelihood is that they will be available in raids, like most other Legendary Pokémon, but well update this page with all the information when we know for sure.

Now, well answer a bunch of questions you may have regarding Pokémon Go raids.

Pokemon Go Raid Times

Generally speaking, Pokemon Go raid times are completely random. There’s no way of knowing when an egg will appear above a specific gym, nor what Pokemon will hatch, but there are a couple of guidelines.

Pokemon Go raid eggs will only spawn between 5:30am and 7:45pm local time. This means the time raid bosses will be available is 6:30am to 9:30pm, once an egg has hatched. This is because Niantic doesn’t want players roaming the streets in the middle of the night, for obvious reasons. You can however join remote raids in different timezones, provided you have a friend that can invite you and you have a Remote Raid Pass.

Every Wednesday, from 6pm to 7pm local time, will be Raid Hour. This is when most, if not all, gyms in the vicinity will spawn level five raids with whichever legendary Pokemon is in eggs at the time. This changes frequently, so make sure you check

Five Star Raids In Pokmon Go

The Five Star tier is typically reserved for Legendary Pokémon and usually the most sought after of public Raids. They’re more difficult to beat than lower star ratings, but if you have enough players to do it, the rewards at this level are the best. Right now, Kyurem has taken over Legendary Raids and for the first time in Pokémon Go, it can be Shiny! After Kyurem’s run, Heatran will be available from January 7 to 15. Then from January 15 to 24, Genesect will be available with its Shock Drive, followed by Regice through the end of the month.

What Is A Raid Battle

During a Raid Battle, Trainers from all teams can band together to take down a particularly difficult Boss Pokemon of 20,000 CP or more at a Gym.

Raids are very similar to gym battles with the key difference being the fact that you’re fighting one super-powered Pokemon that can be caught at the end of the battle. If your Pokemon party is wiped out, you can bring in a new party or revive the downed team.

Multiple groups consisting of up to 20 people cooperate to battle the Raid Boss. If successful within the time limit, players will get a chance to capture the powerful Raid Boss and receive Items rewarded only by completing Raid Battles.

Mega Raids In Pokmon Go

On August 27, 2020, Niantic introduced Mega Evolution and with it Mega Raids. Mega Raids are a class unto themselves, providing some of the most challenging battles yet. Mega Pokémon get a massive stat boost, and in some cases new typing as well. Starting June 1, 2021, only one Pokémon will be appearing in Mega Raids at a time.

If you need help with January’s Mega Raids, we have the following guides:

After completing any of these Mega Raids, you will be rewarded with the chance to catch the normal version of that Pokémon, as well as a bunch of Mega Energy – the species specific currency used to Mega Evolve your own Pokémon. The amount of Mega Energy you win is based on how quickly you can complete the Mega Raid so you want to invite as many people as possible to these Raids. Additionally, Mega Raids can give you Shiny Pokémon, unlike encountering these evolved Pokémon normally.

Like other Raids, Mega Raids also rotate out. Currently, you cannot battle in the following Mega Raids right now:

What Are Raid Battles In Pokemon Go

Pokemon Images: Pokemon Go Ex Raid Boss List 2019

Raid Battles occur when a Boss Pokemon takes over a Gym. You can find them by walking around local Gyms and keeping an eye out for eggs that are about to hatch, or Boss Pokemon that are part of a currently ongoing Raid.

These Pokemon are very powerful, so its recommended that you team up with a few other trainers in order to secure a victory. There are four tiers: 1-Star, 3-Star, 5-Star, and Mega Raids. The higher the tier, the harder the battle.

Raid Battles are worth the time and effort to complete, though. As well as earning special items, youll also get a chance to catch the Pokemon you beat. In the case of 5-Star Raids, these will be Legendaries you cant get anywhere else.
