THE SHINY *HO-OH* COUNTER GUIDE! 100 IVs, MOVESET & WEAKNESS – FIRE FLYING LEGENDARY | Pokémon Go

Ho-oh made its first appearance in Pokémon Gold and Silver. Alongside Lugia, Ho-oh is one of the first legendary Pokémon to be used as a mascot for a mainline Pokémon game, featuring on the box art for Pokémon Gold.

Ho-oh is also one of the only legendary Pokémon that can be caught in all the mainline games that belong to its generation. It can be found at the top of the Tin Tower, renamed the Bell Tower in Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver, in Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal.

This legendary Pokémon has a clear resemblance to a phoenix and this inspiration carries over into Ho-oh’s own mythology as a part of the Tower duo.

It’s believed that Ho-oh has been reborn multiple times from its own ashes and, after the destruction of the Brass Tower, Ho-oh used its powers to create the legendary beasts – Entei, Raikou and Suicune. This action, in turn, made it the trio master for the legendary beasts.

Niantic Reveals New Shadow Pokemon Variant For Pokemon Go

From what we know so far, these new Apex Shadow Pokemon will be much more powerful variants than the standard Shadow Lugia and Ho-oh players have been able to capture in the past after battling Giovanni. However, the true Shadow Lugia series veterans remember from Pokemon XD: Gales of Darkness is still absent.

According to the official Pokemon GO website, the story behind these new, more powerful Shadow Pokemon revolves around the mysterious power released from the sealed door of which the Hisuian Voltorb was hiding behind. Arlo used the power sealed behind the door to create these more powerful Shadow Pokemon.

But what sets these Pokemon apart from the previous versions of Shadow Lugia and Ho-oh? While we cannot confirm if these Pokemon are superior in terms of their stats, we can guarantee that these new Shadow Pokemon will have more powerful versions of their signature attacks. Lugia will be given Aeroblast+ while Ho-oh will be given Sacred Fire+.

While most Pokemon GO players agree that it is best to keep their Legendary Pokemon in their Shadow form, these new Apex Shadows may contradict this theory. When these Apex Shadow Pokemon are purified, their signature attacks get upgraded further. Both of the Legendaries’ signature attacks gained more power.

How To Beat Giovanni Shadow Ho

THE SHINY *HO

In order to defeat Giovanni in Pokémon Go in July 2021, you must first defeat his pokemon lineup.

Trainers should be able to counter what Giovanni brings to the battle with the following lineup of possible counters. There are certainly loads of different Pokemon that can fill in for this suitable lineup, however, most should have no difficulties putting together the team suggested here!

Currently, he always uses Persian as the main Pokémon. You can battle with one of these Pokémon at random:

  • First Pokémon: Persian
  • Second Pokémon: Kangaskhan, Garchomp, or Nidoking
  • Third Pokémon: Shadow Ho-Oh

The Best Pokmon To Face Lugia In Pokmon Go

Lugia has some significant weaknesses. Ghost- and Dark-type Pokémon are super effective against Lugia’s Psychic-type. Rock-, Electric-, and Ice-type Pokémon are all super effective against flying, so adding any of these Pokémon to the team should make it easier to catch Lugia. However, there are some specific Pokémon that players will want to look out for, as they stand a better chance of doing damage to Lugia, or even negating some of its damage.

The first Pokémon to examine is Tyranitar. It is both Rock-type and Dark-type, and its good to start the battle with this Pokémon. Players can get Tyranitar by capturing a Larvitar, then evolving it into a Pupitar for 25 candy, and then a Tyranitar for 100 candy. As it is a Dark-type, it will take less damage from Lugias psychic attacks. Other good Dark-types to consider are Houndoom, Absol, or Darkrai.

For an electric-type, Zapdos is a great option. It is a legendary Pokémon itself, however, so it may be difficult to find and catch. If Zapdos is not an option, Raikou is also worthy, as well as Zekrom. For a non-legendary Pokémon, players could try Electivire. It evolves from an Elekid and Electabuzz. To become an Electivire, it will need a Sinnoh Stone as well as the 100 candy.

Ghost-types are an effective counter against Lugia. Gengar is one of the most famous Ghost-type Pokémon and a great addition to the team going after Lugia. Its also easy to catch a Gastly after dark, which evolves into a Haunter and then a Gengar.

You won’t get many Premier Balls to catch Ho-Oh once you’vedefeated it, so make each one count.Usea Golden Razz Berry before each throw, and be sure to stock up on thembeforehand by defeating other Raid Bosses.

The odds of capturing Ho-Oh are greatest while the target ringis at a small-enough diameter to score a Nice, Great, or Excellent Throw, andthrowing a Curveball can improve your chances further. But work within yourabilitiesif you don’t think you can hit Excellent Curveballs reliably, aim forNice or Great Throws rather than risk missing the target ring completely.

You may waste your Premier Balls if your target is movingaround when you throw. Wait for Ho-Oh to start actingup and for the target ring to disappear while it’s a size you’re comfortablethrowing into, then time your throw so that the Premier Ball lands as thetarget ring reappears.

Pokemon Go Mega Manectric Raid Counters

Mega Manectric is a pure Electric-type making it weak to just Ground-type attacks. Luckily for Pokemon Go players, there are plenty of Ground types that can help them in battles against Mega Manectric.

There isnt a Mega Pokemon with the Ground typing, yet, but for now, there are enough Legendaries and powerful Pokemon that can fill that power void. Two such Legendaries are Groudon and Landorus. Both Pokemon have enough firepower to take down Mega Manectric as quickly as possible.

Garchomp, the pseudo legendary of the Sinnoh region, is also a great option to take on Mega Manectric. Its Ground and Dragon typing also resists many of Mega Manectrics Electric attacks. Rhyperior, Mamoswine, Flygon and Excadrill are also great options to take into battle against this powerful Pokemon.

Here is a list of great Mega Manectric counters with their optimal movesets.

Pokemon GO Ho

This all depends on what Pokemon Giovanni brings with him, however, you can definitely be smart about it.

Giovannis Persian will always be out first, so youll want to start your team with a Fighting-type Pokemon to counter this, plus maybe Kangaskhan in second place.

Thats Persian/Kangaskhan covered, so now onto Nidoking and Garchomp both of which are weak against Ice-type moves.

Finally, seeing as Rampardos is the best counter for Ho-Oh, thats who Id bring. However, any Rock-type Pokemon are solid choices.

Overall, Id choose:

Pokemon Go: Shadow Ho

Players might be happy to know that Shadow Ho-oh is coming to Pokemon GO, but, in order to catch it, they have to first beat it in battle.

Ho-oh will be the latest Pokemon on Giovannis team. Players can get on the radar for this battle by completing the upcoming A Seven-Colored Shadow Special Research. Its important to know, however, that its going to take strong Pokemon and a whole ton of patience to beat a Shadow Ho-oh.

This Pokemon is normally incredibly bulky, with a high 14 Stamina stat and even higher 244 Defense. Of course, these defenses get lowered when Ho-oh is in Shadow form, but it hardly matters since now its moderately high Attack stat gets even higher. This Pokemon becomes a potent attacker with enough bulk to still be tanky. Do not go into this battle without some of these counters.

Pokmon Gotta Catch ’em All

Ho-Oh appeared in GDZ65.

When released from a Poké Ball, Ho-Oh unleashes a spiral of Sacred Fire that deals massive amounts of damage to any opponent caught in it. However, it appears very rarely.

Melee trophy information

As it soars around the skies of the world, this Rainbow Pokemon leaves a trail of rainbows and myths in its wake. Its signature move is called Sacred Fire, and it is believed to appear only before trainers who are pure of heart. If you see a trainer with Ho-oh, you can assume that catching it took a lot of work.

Brawl trophy information

“A Rainbow Pokémon. On sparkling wings of seven colors, Ho-Oh leaves a rainbow behind as it flies. Legend says that Ho-Oh suppressed a war that scorched the land in ancient times. Its attack Sacred Fire can melt ice in an instant and also damage the target with burns. Ho-Oh will show its solemn figure only for the most righteous Trainers.”

How Many Players Does It Take To Beat Ho

Shiny Ho-Oh Counter Guide in Pokemon GO || Shiny Skarmory & XL candy || How good is Ho-Oh?

Ho-Oh Raids are highly dependent on Ho-Oh’s moveset. Most of the good counters are weak to Solar Beam, and even when not weak to it, this move hits very hard. If you’re going up against a Solar Beam Ho-Oh, you will probably need a larger group. Still, with the best counters, high level Trainers can duo this Raid. If you are lacking the best counters or are a lower level, you’ll want at least four players.

The following Weather conditions can impact this Raid:

  • Sunny/Clear Weather will boost Ho-Oh’s Fire and Grass type moves.
  • Windy Weather will boost its Flying and Psychic type moves.
  • Cloudy Weather will boost its Fighting type attack.
  • Snow will boost its Steel type attack.
  • Partly Cloudy Weather will boost your Rock type counters.
  • Rain will boost you Water and Electric type counters.

How To Catch Lugia In Pokmon Go

Ho

If players want to capture Lugia in Pokémon GO, they must battle it in a 5-star raid. They need powerful Pokémon, effective attacks, and friends.

Lugia, the legendary guardian of the seas from the Johto region, makes a return to Pokémon GO. At long last, players can add this Psychic- and Flying-type Pokémon to their Pokédex, alongside its famed counterpart Ho-oh.

It will not be easy to get Lugia in Pokémon GO, though, because it does not appear in the wild. Like other legendary Pokémon, it only appears in five-star raids. These are the most difficult raids, so players will need to bring their best Pokémon and tactics to the fight, along with lots of allies.

Five-star raids cannot be done solo, so players will need to team up with others to take Lugia down. Depending on where a player lives, it can be difficult to find others, but there are many Pokémon GO groups on Facebook, Discord, and other social media platforms. These should allow players to coordinate to be in the same place at the same time for the raid, or complete the raid via Remote Raid Passes.
