Were always buying all types of Charizard cards that are from low and high print runs, this is simply because we love collecting Pokemon cards.
One of the lowest print runs is arguably the 1st edition Pokemon cards from base set. While there were no official numbers ever released to the public, its known to be one of the shortest print runs for Pokemon.

Team Up Black Star Staff Prerelease
Promotional cards are a tough thing to look at in the realm of collecting cards are they’re often very rare due to the limited printing of them. The Charizard that was featured as a Team-Up Black Star set card had a promotional staff version that was given to members who helped hold the prerelease event for the release of the set.
Alongside it were Gyarados, Machamp, and Mewtwo, which were at different various locations. The Charizard version of the promo can fetch a little over $2,000, provided it is PSA 10 grade.

The Pokémon TCG: Hidden Fates expansion launched for Western audiences just over a week ago and packs of the set have been hard to come by as collectors try to fill out their binders early.
The 68-card set is a smaller release, but that didnt stop one of the fan-favorite cards from breaking the bank as a shiny Charizard card sold for over $10,000 on eBay.
SV49 shiny Charizard-GX was already set to be one of the most highly sought-after cards. Charizard cards are always popular, but this was also the first shiny variant released in six years. Using similar artwork to the ever-popular Burning Shadows expansion Charizard-GX, the first appearance of the black starter since 2013 in the BW Plasma Storm set is the card everyone wants.
The current cost to get one of the full-art shiny Charizard-GX cards is around $350, but one bidding war on eBay easily surpassed that, totaling $10,100 on one copy. This copy was appraised by the legendary card appraisers at Beckett, who gave it their ultimate seal of approval, a black info label.
There was an unappraised version of the card that sold for over $4,000 on the same day and several copies are going for well over the $350 mark. If you want to get a copy, it might be best to avoid eBay since the prices are being driven up very heavily.

Pokemon Sun & Moon Hidden Fates Gx Charizard #sv49
Fast forward 17 years, to theSun & Moon Hidden Fates release. You can see the power creep, as the Pokemon now has a 300 damage attack, along with 250 HP.
The image of Charizard takes up the entire card, and PSA 10 versions will sell for a four-figure fee.
Its a great modern option and could be as popular as the original in years to come.

This card typifies the evolution of Pokemon cards over the years, with a modern feel to this tag-team edition.

Despite looking like a dragon, the only time Pokémons Charizard takes on the Dragon-type is when it Mega Evolves into Charizard X. Otherwise, it is a Fire/Flying-type.

Base Set 2, Charizard
The card shown above has the same artwork as the previous Charizards except for the Card Number and the set symbol, shown at the bottom right corner outside of the Charizard design.
Base set 2 Pokemon cards are any card you see with the number 2 set symbol at the bottom right, outside of the artwork. These cards will be worth considerably less money than their counterparts from the original Base set Pokemon.
This is for a number of reasons, but the main reason being Base set was the first set and the print runs were smaller. Base set 2 was printed in large quantities. The exact print quantity was never released by Wizards of the Coast.
Non-Holo Charizard, Legendary Collection
The above Charizard is the first Non-holo version of Charizard ever printed, meaning the Box which Charizard is in isnt holographic. These cards are worth considerably less than their holo counterparts, simply because holo cards are harder to obtain, especially in mint condition.

Ex Dragon Frontiers Holographic
The introduction, or rather reveal, of shiny versions of Pokemon, provided an additional level of Pokemon hunting. Fans were now looking to obtain the alternate color versions of their favorite creatures. To no ones surprise, Charizard ended up having one of the coolest shiny forms as it went from orange to black .
The 2006 card from the EX Dragon Frontiers set featured a holographic shiny Charizard. It sold for an astonishing $9,000, which isnt surprising considering the card was PSA 10 graded and featured a black Charizard.

Then, you can reset to your hearts content until you get a worthy Charmander, but remember you can always use a Bottle Cap to max one of its stats, or a Mint to change its functional Nature. Shining Charizard 1st Edition
Earlier, we discussed the introduction of shiny Pokemon and how it simply made Charizard cooler. In the 2002 NEO Destiny 1st edition set, there was a card titled Shining Charizard that captured the black-scaled iconic Pokemon in all of its elegance and stoicism.
A PSA 10 graded version of the card has sold at its highest for around $22,000. The NEO Destiny set was the last one that the card manufacturer, Wizards of the Coast, used the 1st edition logo for on any of their Pokemon products â an interesting legacy for an equally interesting trading card.

The difference between EX, NM, or Mint can literally be hundreds, if not thousands dollars.
While lower-graded Pokemon cards are easier to determine the grade from a picture high-graded Pokemon are much different.

What’s The Price Of A Hyper Rare Charizard
- Even now, two years after the launch of Burning Shadows, you can obtain a mint condition hyper rare Charizard–GX from that set, for a cheaper price currently than the hyper rare Reshiram & Charizard–GX. I’ve already been asked multiple times if I think this is just a phase and if the price will go back to $100-150 in the near future.

The big one, this was by far the most popular card of the original 151.
Charizard was a major part of the anime and had one of the strongest attack ratings at 100.
The orange card has a small image of Charizard at the top, with the Pokemon surrounded by chrome flames which give it an iconic look.

My parents laughed when I said my Pokémon cards would be worth something someday, but now in 2022, original, pristine sets of cards are indeed being sold for a ton of money, part of a recent gold rush trend on Pokémon cards that has culminated in the biggest sale yet of an OG Charizard.
At the PWCC March Premiere Auction, a 1999 Charizard Pokémon card just sold for a record-breaking $420,000, the most a Charizard has ever sold for, and the third highest for any Pokémon card of all time.
Why so much? Well, this was a special one, it seems. The most special, in fact. Heres what netted that kind of price:
The cards price was buoyed not only by its PSA 10 Gem Mint grade only 121 PSA 10s exist in the world at the time of the auction but also by the fact that it is one of the cleanest copies in existence. The card has no visible whitening on the back, appears to have perfect centering, and looks to have no holo imperfections.
Another reason the price was so high is that because of the 121 PSA 10s in the world, most are owned by serious collectors or celebrities and as such, are not likely to make it to market. So when one actually does, well, you get this kind of ridiculous price.
