There are a grand total of 18 different Pokemon that can be mounted and ridden in both Pokemon Lets Go Eevee and Pikachu. As might be expected, many of them are Flying- and Water-type creatures, and riding them allows the trainer to traverse otherwise impassable terrain. Heres the list of every rideable Pokemon in Pokemon Lets Go:

• Tauros

To get around faster in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee, you can take advantage of Pokemon’s water and land services as well as flying services. Not all of them, though. You can’t get a bike at Pokemon Lets Go , as in previous games. Instead, you can ride one of your Pokemon, which is much more interesting. For example, you can drive your own Charizard, as in the screenshot below. Or, you can ride a Pokemon on the ground if it has the right size.

To do this, you need to have the right Pokemon in your party. Select one and choose the option “Take out the Poke Ball”. When it comes to traveling through areas where there is water, your Pokemon will have to learn the secret Water Slide technique. Long story short: find the guy with the white bandana and white tank top holding a surfboard in the Fucsiapoli complex. He is standing next to a Lapras, who is swimming in a pool. Talk to him to learn Slide Water. This will allow you to move fast without fear of drowning.

Pokemon Lets Go: A New Way To Explore

As far as Pokemon games go, exploration has always been relatively limited. Generally, players can walk, sprint, and ride a bike, but that’s mostly it. Previous games allowed players to ride water-types across bodies of water thanks to the “Surf” HM, but recent games have introduced gadgets, such as the protagonist’s bike in Sword and Shield that render water-types’ seafaring abilities null and void.

In a world populated by them, the Pokemon themselves typically don’t play a big role in how one gets around, except in a few recent games like Pokemon Sun and Moon, where rideable Pokemon acted as TMs. Pokemon Let’s Go doesn’t quite defy this convention, but it does seemingly open the door for future games to do so.
