One Pokemon pair which is really hard to catch in Pokemon Go is Riolu/Lucario. Speaking of Lucario, it is a steel-fighting type Pokemon who first made its appearance in Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. He was first seen in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl game.

Riolu/Lucario made its entry to Pokemon Go game in October 2018, but this Pokemon is so rare that only a few lucky ones get a chance to have Riolu/Lucario.

As this Pokemon is only available from 7km and 10km Eggs and chance of hatching or getting one is extremely low. The chance of hatching /getting Riolu is only 0.7%.

A Pokemon Go player u/Fruitymcdoo explained the true cost of Riolu on a Pokemon Go forum.

According to him, the chance of getting Riolu is 0.7%, that is . Also, players will need USD 66.20 to have this Pokemon in their Pokedex, or an average player will have to walk 1000 km who is having 7 km eggs to get a Riolu.

We have to see whether this trend will continue for future Pokemon, as to shell $60 for a Pokemon is a bit high. Also, given the popularity of Lucario, a non-Legendary/Mythical Pokemon has not been available for raids yet.

Using a Soothe Bell is recommended as it will help increase a Pokemon’s happiness and help it reach a faster Maximum Bond as it battles. Unfortunately, this just takes time and players that want a Lucario will have to go through the motions if they wish to revolve it from a Riolu. Once the Riolu has reached a state of Maximum Happiness and Bond, it simply needs to be leveled up one additional time and it will evolve.

As this shows, there are many conditions to take into account when evolving Pokemon in Galar. Take Sirfetch’d, for instance, one of the newest Pokemon only available in Pokemon Sword. First, players will need to catch a Farfetch’d, which likes overcast weather. Then it is a matter of evolving Farfetch’d into a Sirfetch’d. This can only be done via a special – and slightly difficult – requirement.

Riolu is only available via hatching 7km and 10km Eggs. It has a 0.7% chance of appearing . On average, each player will need to hatch 143 eggs to get a Riolu. With 3 uses per incubator, thats a total of 48 incubators used. That comes out to a total of 9,600 COINS for Super Incubators, or 7,200 with normal incubators. This is equivalent to $66.20 USD and around $50.00 USD respectively, if buying coins from the shop. If you wanted to do this with only coins earned via gym defense, it would take at least 192 DAYS due to the 50 coin limit. Given that Riolu/Lucario were only released in October 2018, under 168 days ago, it actually hasnt been possible to earn that many coins yet. The average free player with only the default incubator would have to walk just over 1,000km with only 7k eggs to get a Riolu.

To find Riolu, head down to Giants Cap Area 2, which can be reached midway into the game. Giants Cap is in the North part of the Wild Area. If there is a Snowstorm brewing, you have a 5% chance of finding it here. You can also find Riolu in Giants Cap and Giants Cap Area 3 under the same Snowstorm conditions with a 5% chance as well.

It will then conclude at 10 PM local time on Monday, February 10th. This schedule means players will have a little over three days to enjoy everything the Pokemon GO Sinnoh Region Celebration Event has to offer and possibly encounter a Shiny Riolu.

Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed way to make sure you run into a Shiny Riolu during the event. You will have to pray to the RNG gods that they will bless you and allow you to run into this character if you are interested in adding it to your team.

This Fighting-type Pokemon is appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles for a limited time.

A new event in Pokemon Sword and Shield is causing little Pokemon to appear more frequently in Max Raid Battles for a limited time. One of these little Pokemon is Riolu, the Fighting-type Pokemon that evolves into Lucario.

If you want to add Riolu to your collection in Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield, our guide can help you find one!

There are multiple ways to find a Riolu to battle in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.

First, you can visit the Pokemon Dens in the Wild Area that have a beam of light shooting out of them into the sky. Interact with one of these Dens to see which Pokemon is there to battle.

If you see the silhouette in the screenshot below, youll know youve found a Riolu to battle!

If you don’t find Riolu this way, remember that you can cause more Max Raid Battles to appear in your Wild Area by completing all of the battles that are currently active.

You can also cause a Pokemon to appear in a Pokemon Den by tossing a Wishing Piece into it. To use a Wishing Piece, interact with a Pokemon Den that doesnt have an active Max Raid Battle to collect your Watts. Interact with the Den a second time, and youll be asked if you want to use a Wishing Piece. Choose Yes, and a Pokemon will appear in the Den for you to battle. It may be Riolu!

Shiny Riolu To Be Available Only From Eggs

Trainers, the Sinnoh Celebration event is right around the corner and many players are wondering if Shiny Riolu will be available in the wild.

Niantic and Pokemon Go announced and confirmed all features about the upcoming Sinnoh Celebration event, but they didnt make it clear where one can find a shiny Riolu.

They confirmed that all 7KM Eggs will hatch specific Pokemon during the event such as:

• Budew
• Hippopotas
• Mantyke

and they did confirm that we might encounter a Shiny Riolu, but they didnt mention if this Pokemon and its shiny forms will be available from Eggs or in the wild.

Now, Niantic Support confirmed on their official Twitter account that Riolu can be hatched from Eggs, but we cant encounter this Pokemon in the wild. This means that Riolu and its shiny forms will be available only from 7KM Eggs and 10KM Adventure Sync Eggs.
