Best Moves For Heatran
Heatrans move pool isnt very deep, so youll get the most out of the legendary Pokemon if you focus on its fire attacks. In particular, Heatran will be most effective in battle if you teach it the Fast Attack Fire Spin and the Charged Attack Flamethrower. Alternatively, you can teach it the steel-type Charged Attack Iron Head to make it a solid counter against fairy-type Pokemon.
Heatran is appearing in raids until Jan. 15, when it will be replaced by Genesect. You can catch up on everything else happening in Pokemon Go this month in our .
Pokemon Go: Best Formats For Heatran
Since Heatran can be a capable fighter in Pokemon GO, trainers are wise to power it up and gear its moveset towards what combat they want it to face. For PvE raids, Fire Spin is an excellent Fast Move for it when combined with either Fire Blast or Flamethrower.
Since Heatrain possesses solid stats all-around, it can last for quite some time during gym raids before fainting while dishing out considerable damage.
In PvP, such as Ultra League or Master League , the same movesets tend to get the job done.
However, Pokemon GO trainers can pick up secondary Charge Moves like Iron Head or Stone Edge to provide Heatran with additional type matchup coverage to perform outside the constraints of its usual Fire-type moves.
In Master League, Heatran’s 10 different resistances play heavily to its advantage, especially its double resistance to Fairy-types.
Heatran’s dual Steel/Fire typing allows it to handle meta PvP picks such as Togekiss and Dialga. However, it also has one glaring weakness to be avoided. Specifically, Heatran receives double super effective damage from Ground-type moves. Fighting and Water-type moves will also deal super effective damage, but Ground-types are its most major Achilles heel.
Although Heatran is worth using in battle, it is wise to place it within a battle party that can account for Ground-types in order to have a safe Pokemon to switch to and counter the Ground-type threat.

A Bulky Support Pokemon For Defensive Teams
Heatrans dual Fire/Steel typing makes it one of the best answers to the many Fairy-types in the current metagame.
Its ability to trap or spread burns make it a valuable asset in defensive teams that need a strong defensive pivot that can impede the opposing teams offensive momentum.
Example Defensive Team
Heatran makes an excellent partner for Dragon-type leads such as Dragonite. Thanks to its 4x resistance to Fairy-type moves, it can shrug off even boosted Play Roughs and Moonblasts from the likes of Mimikyu and Hatterene respectively.
Landorus makes an excellent partner to Heatran, as the latter also boasts a 4x resistance to Ice-type moves. Conversely, Landorus is immune to Ground-types that Heatran is weak to.
Although Dragonite fills the role of an attacker, it also provides defensive utility as it resists Water-type moves that both of its partners are weak to. It can also use Roost to recover its HP to full so that its Multiscale Ability activates.

What If You Don’t Have The Best Movesets In Pokmon Go
Since the introduction of the Raid Battle system in June 2017, you can get Technical Machines to change your movesets. Two of the possible rewards for beating Raid Bosses are Quick TM and Fast TM, which can be used to change Quick Moves and Charge Moves respectively. Regular TMs are completely random and cannot access Legacy Moves.
Legacy Moves are special moves that were once available for a Pokémon but are no longer. Sometimes they were removed when Niantic re-balanced the game. Some were only available on Community Day or in special Raids. Either way, if a Legacy Move happens to be the best possible move for a Pokémon and you don’t have it, you cannot get it with a normal TM. Before you use a TM on any Pokémon, you should always check to see if the move you’re changing is a Legacy Move and if that move is worth having. A lot of Legacy Moves don’t perform well, but some of them are the best moves in the game.
More recently, Niantic introduced Elite TMs. These TMs are rare, and often difficult to get or expensive, but allow you to choose from any move a Pokémon can have, including Legacy Moves. They aren’t random either. You get to choose the move. Because of how hard it is to get Elite TMs, you’ll want to save them for your very best Pokémon, but hey, now you can have a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball and Psystrike!

Is Altered Giratina Good In Pokemon Go Whats Its Best Moveset
Giratina isnt a Pokemon that can be used in the Great League, but its a very, very solid option in both the Ultra and Master Leagues something which if youve battled in these leagues before, youre probably aware of.
Altered Giratina has a great type combination and solid bulk that make it a force to be reckoned with.
Its the 8th best choice in the Ultra League and 18th best in the Master League, picking up some massive wins in both. Just be aware, youll need XL Candies for it to reach its potential in the Master League.
Altered Giratinas best moveset is as follows:
- Fast Move Shadow Claw
What About Secondary Charge Moves In Pokmon Go
With PvP Trainer Battles, Niantic also introduced secondary Charge Moves. You can buy them with Stardust and Candy, and TM them to whatever it is you need. So, what do you need? Typically, variety. If the best Charge Move is a full bar, get a secondary that’s multi-bar. If there are two possible types for the Charged move, get both. For example, a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball or Psystrike is incredible, but one with both? Gamebreaker! However, adding a second Charge Move is expensive so make sure there is a good secondary move before spending on this upgrade.

A Bulky Attacker In Hyper Offense Teams
Both offensive and defensive variants of Heatran are popular additions in Hyper Offense teams. Even without special attack investment, Heatran hits hard with its STAB moves and its great dual typing gives it quadruple resistance to Fairy-types.
Considering most Offensive teams employ Dragon-type Pokemon, Heatran is a welcome addition, as its presence is often enough to deter would-be Dragon counters.
Example Offensive Dynamax Team
Heatran’s role in this team is that of a main Dynamax user. Thanks to its natural bulk, numerous resistances, and key immunities to poison and burns, it would be hard to take Heatran down, even with a Ground-type move.
When Dynamaxed, Heatran can set sun up for itself and its team, further empowering its Fire-type attacks and allowing for one-turn Solar Beams. Max Steelspike, on the other hand, further increases Heatran’s defensive capability.
Running Solar Beam also gives Heatran access to Max Overgrowth which has great synergy for Rillaboom’s Grassy Glide.
Tapu Fini rounds out the trio by offering a Fire-Water-Grass core for the team, but also offering useful utility in the form of Misty Surge. Some other notable moves include Defog which is useful for clearing hazards and screens. While Whirlpool, together with Magma Storm, can be used to trap your enemy.

Magma Storm is a strong 100 BP STAB move with the added effect of trapping the opponent. This prevents the opponent from building any momentum, while having to deal with the chip damage brought on by the attack. It also gives Heatran a chance to set up sun when Dynamaxed.
Heatran can take advantage of its high Special Attack to dish out STAB Flash Cannons. Considering how populous Fairy types are in the metagame, this is a great move to have. It also buffs Heatran’s defenses when used in Dynamax.
Taunt prevents the enemy from setting up on you, while also having good synergy with Magma Storm.
Protect is a nice move to have that enables more Leftovers recovery and a way to stall out Dynamax turns. Be careful of opponents who may try to set up against you while you are protecting.
