The Sun Stone is an item with very few uses, both in the mainline games and in Pokemon GO. Only five Pokemon require this stone to evolve, and four of these are currently in Pokemon GO: Gloom, Sunkern, Petilil and Cottonee.

Gloom requires 100 Oddish candies and a Sun Stone to evolve into Bellossom. The other three – Sunkern, Petilil and Cottonee – all need 50 of their individual candies along with a Sun Stone to evolve into Sunflora, Lilligant, and Whimsicott, respectively.

All four of these Pokemon families are Grass-types and are most commonly found in natural areas like grasslands, farmlands, parks, and woodlands.

The Sun Stone, like the other evolution items, can only be acquired after reaching level 10. Once at level 10 or above, spinning Pokestops or gyms gives players a small chance of getting an evolution stone, as does opening gifts from friends.

An evolution item is also a guaranteed reward for every seventh consecutive day of spinning a Photo Disc. This is from the entire pool of evolution items, so a Sun Stone is not guaranteed.

How To Use The Magnetic Lure In Pokemon Go

The Magnetic Lure is one of three new types of lure in the game and it works much like a normal lure, with some slight modifications. You can also give 500 Wattsa new type of currency in Sword and Shieldto the Digging Duo near the Pokemon Nursery in Bridge Field to have them excavate items. The items they can dig up typically include evolutionary stones, so youll want to collect as many Watts as you can and visit the duo often to stock up.

The only way to get evolution items is by spinning PokeStops. Like with the new berries, though, they don’t drop as often as balls and razz berries. After more than fifty spins at various stops, I only got one sun stone. Many others are reporting similar findings, with some reporting a drop rate of 1 percent or less. Your mileage may vary, but don’t expect to collect them quickly.

If you play the game every day, you can get at least one evolution item per week, though. When you get the seven-day streak bonus one evolution item is guaranteed to drop. This only counts for the First PokeStop of the Day streak, not the First Pokemon of the Day streak. The evolution item you get is totally random, but it’s better than just relying on a PokeStop drops.

How To Evolve Gloom Into Bellossom In Pokmon Go

Over in the main series of Pokémon games, Gloom evolves into Bellossom – as opposed to Vileplume – in a kind of branching evolution chain. To get Vileplume, you’d need to use a Grass Stone on Gloom, whilst to get Bellossom you’d need to use a Sun Stone.

Evolution stones themselves haven’t been in the game until the current update – in fact the originals, like the Grass Stone, still aren’t in the game – and so the mechanic itself is new, too.

To evolve Gloom into Bellossom, then, you’ll need to get yourself a Sun Stone, along with the required amount of Candy, and simply head to the normal section of the menu where you’d go for evolving the Pokémon and carry on with the usual steps from there.

The Sun Stone is another of the new Evolution Items that can be used in conjunction with Pokemon Candy to evolve some of the Gen 1 Pokemon to new Gen 2 evolutions.

Initially there were rumors indicating that Evolution Items were guaranteed rewards for 7-day Pokestop streaks, but that has been discredited. Evolution items are incredibly rare and have less than a 1% chance of being found at Pokestops.

However, as of an app update in late March 2017 you are now guaranteed an Evolution Item for a 7-day Pokestop streak.

Currently, the applicable Pokemon for this item is Gloom, who can evolve into Bellossom using the Sun Stone as well as 100 Oddish Candy, or into Vileplume using just candy and Sunkern, who can evolve into Sunflora using the Sun Stone as well as 50 Sunkern Candy.

What Pokemon Are Compatible With Sun Stone

The Sun Stone is a key item introduced in Generation II that allows Eevee to evolve into Leafeon. It can also be used at SolarBeams learning spot for an extra 1,000,000 EXP .

The following Pokémon are compatible with the Sun Stone:

Bulbasaur can be evolved into Ivysaur using a Sun Stone .

Charmander can be evolved into Charmeleon using a Sun Stone .

How Iv Affects Max Cp

Lets say I have two Snorlaxes and I am a level 40 player . Both are currently at 2500 CP, but:

one has 100% IVs and Max CP of 3355
the other has 0% IVs and Max CP of 2926

If I chose to power up the 100% IV Snorlax to its max CP, I would need to power it up all the way to 3355 CP, which is the max CP Snorlax can have . However, if I were to power up the 0% IV Snorlax, it would only go to 2926 CP which is the max it can have with 0% IVs.

When it comes to a Snorlax, you can expect there is approximately a 400 CP difference between 100% IVs and 0, but lets not forget that Snorlax is one of the highest CPs in the game: this 400 CP difference is around the maximum difference between highest and lowest CP of any given Pokemon.

This really isnt a huge difference. If you have a Pokemon that is in the highest or second highest IV tier, it really is not that far away from perfect Max CP. So evolving a Pokemon with IVs in the first or second tier is a good idea, you dont need to wait for the perfect IVs.

Never power up a Pokémon before evolving it! If you get a bad moveset, its CP value doesnt really matter and you probably dont want to power up it!
