From free-to-play spin-offs through to full RPG adventures, Switch owners are spoilt for choice when it comes to the widely-adored franchise.

To help you find your next adventure with Pikachu and the gang, we’ve listed every Pokemon game on Nintendo Switch available right now. Game Boy Games Coming To Nintendo Switch Online

A few years back, dataminers like looked into the NSO code and discovered four emulator types named Kachikachi, Canoe, Hiyoko, and Count. Kachikachi was identified as an NES Classic emulator while Canoe was an emulator for SNES Classic. So that has left two emulators to be revealed. The question is, what systems are they emulators for? At this point, it could be anything from N64 to 3DS.

Count Unknown

Then, this week podcaster and known gaming insider, Nate the Hate, and his guest, MVG, conjectured that Hiyoko could be a Game Boy and Game Boy Color emulator, with both being “one entity.” This does seem to make the most sense given that these systems were often paired together and were the gaming systems after the SNES. They went on to conjecture that Count could be an N64 or Game Boy Advance emulator, but emphasized that they are less sure about what it could be.

Nintendo Life also reached out to their sources who confirmed that “Game Boy Color titles are likely coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service ‘really soon.'” Then, Eurogamer stated that they had also been able to confirm Game Boy and Game Boy Color games were coming to Switch and even said “other retro platforms are also on the cards.” So if that’s all to be believed, which is looking likely, we’ll be able to play some handheld classics sometime in the near future.

I personally don’t think Pokémon games will be included in this potential emulator.

Nintendo Is Expanding Its Online Subscription Service

Genesis games coming to Nintendo was a huge surprise

The latest Nintendo Direct revealed the rumored Nintendo Switch Online expansion. However, the big surprise was that theyre adding not one, but two retro platforms to the service. While many were hoping for a Nintendo 64 and GameBoy Color combo, the announcement instead gave gamers something even better a Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis combo! So expect N64 titles like F-Zero X, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask as well as Genesis titles like Castlevania: Bloodlines,Contra: Hard Corps, Shinobi, and more.

Unfortunately, there is a catch as all the above is a part of a new subscription plan. In short, Switch Online will cost you a bit more if you want to play games from the two soon-to-be-added retro platforms. It wont be too expensive and as far as many gamers are concerned, its absolutely worth it. Check out the full list of upcoming games and more things Switch Online in our original news coverage.

Pokemon Diamond And Pearl Remakes

Ever since the release of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen in 2004, Game Freak, Nintendo, and The Pokemon Company have consistently remade each Pokemon generation for newer platforms. The latest set of remakes, not counting the Let’s Go games, were Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on the 3DS in 2014. There’s been about five years between each of the Pokemon remakes, so Pokemon fans are technically overdue for Diamond and Pearl remakes.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl marked the franchise’s debut on the Nintendo DS, and they launched with a number of improvements and innovations for the franchise. Some aspects of Diamond and Pearl may not have aged particularly well, but those issues could be ironed out in remakes. Out of all the possibilities listed here, it seems as though Diamond and Pearl remakes are the most likely possibilities, especially since Time Diamond and Space Pearl titles leaked alongside Pokemon Sword and Shield back in 2017.

This gorgeous game reimagines the Kanto region from the first Pokémon game and allows players to revisit the fun with upgraded graphics. Players start with a special Pikachu who follows them around and can wear fun clothes. Pokémon fights are mainly limited to trainer and gym battles. Most wild Pokémon are simply caught by throwing a Poké Ball. Players will need to trade with Let’s Go, Eevee players to catch all of the Pokémon in the game.

Best Nintendo Switch Games Coming Out This Fall 2021

Nintendo Switch owners have a lot to look forward to this fall. Video game companies tend to have a big push surrounding the holiday season, but Nintendo has a lot more going for it than it has in awhile. We’ll be seeing the first new Metroid game in over 19 years, two Pokémon games, a semi-remake of a popular 2000s game, a new console, and more. It really is an awesome time to be a Nintendo Switch owner. These are the games we on the iMore gaming team are the most excited about.

Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water

Previously a Wii U exclusive in the Fatal Frame franchise , Koei Tecmo’s Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was one of the few titles that actually made use of Wii U’s central asymmetrical gimmick. That coupled with a lukewarm critical reception made a Switch port seem unlikely we gave it a 2/10 likelihood of a Switch port in our round-up of the Wii U games not yet on Switch.

The franchise has a devoted and loyal fan base, though, and Koei Tecmo has made the decision to rework the Gamepad elements and bring the game not only to Switch, but other platforms, too. A very welcome surprise!

Baldo’s Glitchy Launch And Eshop Issues

Many people, including myself, were looking forward to the release of Baldo The Guardian Owls, a Zelda-inspired action-adventure RPG from NAPS Team that employs an art style similar to Studio Ghibli. The game finally came out last Friday, but with a host of bugs and glitches. To the point that people on multiple platforms have been completely frustrated through the experience. The general consensus that I’ve seen while looking at reviews on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Apple Arcade is that people really want to love this game due to its inherent charm and are hoping for a big update to fix gameplay issues. I myself love the beautiful locations, fun puzzles, and diverse dungeons, but completely agree that it’s overall incredibly frustrating and not worth playing unless a big patch releases.

Glitches include dialogue not working properly, Baldo getting stuck in places he should be able to pass through, and items dropping through the ground. One big glitch even empties all items out of your inventory and basically breaks the game. The developers responded on Steam and stated, “We are aware of the bug and fixing it, however, despite being frustrating, this doesn’t heavily affect the gameplay.” Considering the number of people experiencing these issues this response is frankly insulting and doesn’t show promise for a good enough update in the future.

Pokmon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Switch Lite

NEW Pokemon Games Coming to Nintendo Switch!

A brand new Switch Lite is being released with the new Switch games, featuring Dialga and Palkia in a stunning gold and black scheme. The design harks back to the classic Nintendo DS, and to be honest it looks pretty suave.

You can check out all the details for the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Switch Lite here.

Storage Center: Pokmon Home

Pokémon HOME is necessary for any serious Pokémon trainer who wants to keep the collection of Pokémon they’ve caught over the years. The base service is free but allows players to store up to only 30 Pokémon and limits how many trades they can do. However, if players pay for the Premium subscription, they’ll be able to deposit as many as 6,000 Pokémon and can trade more freely with others online.

Feudal Sinnoh: Pokmon Legends: Arceus

Players control a trainer from ancient Sinnoh times who is tasked with creating the first-ever Pokédex. To do that, they will need to explore a gorgeous open world. You can even catch Pokémon in the overworld by throwing an ancient Poké Ball. You also fight right in the overworld instead of going into a different battle mode. Pokémon Legends: Arceus releases for Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.

Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu And Let’s Go Eevee

A blend of conventional RPG and Pokemon Go gameplay, Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee on the Nintendo Switch introduced a new generation of Pokemon trainers to the Kanto region, with stylish reimagining of the original Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow Game Boy games. Instead of randomly encountering Pokemon in tall grass, you can see potential companions wandering around in the wild, making it easier to complete your Pokedex. Another significant change to the series’ norm is the focus on motion controls for catching Pokemon. You can either emulate the act of throwing a Poke Ball using a Joy-Con or tilt the Nintendo Switch in handheld to aim your throw, using the same circle timing system seen in Pokemon Go. Above all else, Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee are a lovely way to experience Kanto, where it all began.

Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Sequel

A Pokémon Fighting Game Is Coming to the Nintendo Switch ...

Release date: TBC 2022Genre: RPG

We now have a better idea of what the Breath of the Wild sequel will be, with the Nintendo E3 2021 Direct revealing that the game will arrive sometime in 2022 and extend the original game’s map to the skies above it. Still no information on a potentially playable Zelda, but Link’s definitely had a few upgrades since our last jaunt around Hyrule, with various new abilities like the option to teleport through structures or wield fire.
