Similarly, your Empoleon shouldalso know a Water-type Fast Attack. In both cases, you’ll want your Pokémon to havetwo Charged Attacksone for each of its types. If Arlo’s second Pokémon isCradily, you’ll be in good shape if you stick with Froslass and Empoleon. Round : Houndoom Alakazam Or Gardevoir

During the third round, Sierra has a chance to throw out one of these three Pokémon.

Houndoom has several type weaknesses, namely Water, Fighting, Rock, and Ground. This gives it several good counters, including Poliwrath , Swampert , Machamp , and Kyogre .

When facing Alakazam, the key is, again, countering the fast move. For this you want to use Dark Type Pokémon. Tyranitar , Weavile , or Darkrai are all good choices.

The trick to facing Gardevoir is to use powerful steel Pokémon, which resists most of its attacks. Tyranitar is a good choice for resisting psychic attacks, as with Alakazam, but some more specific counters are Metagross , Melmetal , and Dialga .

Counters For First Pokemon

Since Sneasel is always the first Pokemon Sierras lineup, countering it is a relatively easier task. It is a Dark/Ice-type Pokemon, making it super weak against Fighting-type attacks.

Any powerful Fighting-type Pokemon will do the job here. Blaziken with Counter/Focus Blast, Conkeldurr with Counter/Dynamic Punch, and Lucario with Counter/Aura Sphere are some popular choices.

Lucario is especially great because it can burn Sierras two defensive shields very fast with Power-Up Punch as the charge move.

For the second Pokémon, players need to figure out what Sierra will be using. All three potential Pokémon are very different, which means that the counters can vary. If Sierra uses Ampharos, then some of the best options will be ground types such as Landorus, Golem, or Rhyperior.

As always counters are going to be very important when fighting the Rocket Leaders, but there is some other strategy that you should know as well. These important tips for how to beat Arlo, Cliff and Sierra will help you regardless of which Pokemon they are using or you are using. As a rule of thumb you should always put your lead Pokemon in the second or third slot, then swap to them immediately. This will make the Team GO Rocket Leaders pause their attacks and you can get some free hits in. By doing this correctly right when the battle begins you get some quick damage and charge up your Charge Attack. The second big tip to beat the Team Go Rocket Leaders is to use the aforementioned Charged Attack. Charged Attacks used at the beginning of this fight in quick succession can take down the shields for Arlo, Cliff and Sierra.

Team Go Rocket Details

Team GO Rocket are an offshoot of the Team Rocket from the main series games. In Pokémon GO, Team GO Rocket will appear at PokéStops at times. When a PokéStop is darker blue and the cube on it is spinning, that means a member of Team GO Rocket is there. When you spin the stop, they will appear and challenge you.

The battles are standard Trainer Battles, but you have to use a team while they use two Pokémon at CP of around 2200-2500 and a final one of CP around 3200 for Great League, 3300-3500 for the first two and ~4500 for the final one for Ultra League and exceeeding that with Master League and higher making the battle very tough.

Team Go Rocket Leader

A Team GO Rocket Leader is a type of Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon GO. They are high ranking members of Team GO Rocket serving under Giovanni.

Team GO Rocket Leaders can be found at PokéStops designated as Team GO Rocket Hideouts, which can be located using a Rocket Radar. In battle, unlike Grunts, Leaders will always use their Protect Shield against the player’s first two Charged Attacks. Once defeated, the Leader will leave the PokéStop and abandon one of the Shadow Pokémon used.

These Waters Are Treacherous

Possible encounters feature Water type Pokémon. There are two possible groups that may appear with this taunt.

Best counter: Alolan Exeggutor, Sceptile, Leafeon, Tangrowth, Raikou, Magnezone

Grunts using this taunt will use the Poliwag evolution line, as well as other dual water/ground types. We suggest using Grass or Electric type counters like Alolan Exeggutor, Sceptile, Leafeon, Tangrowth, Raikou, Magnizon, Electivire, Jolteon, or Zapdos. There is potential for counter moves from Go Rocket Pokémon with access to ground and ice type attacks. Venusaur and Roserade are good options against Poliwraths Fighting moves.

The other format for the Pokémon this grunt may have is either triple Magikarp, which any Roserade, or other strong grass type will make quick work of, or two Magikarp followed by a Gyarados. In case you encounter a Gyarados, bring out your Electric Pokemon, as it has potential to access ice type moves that will make quick work of your grass types.
