Selecting And Changing Buddy

To select a Pokémon as a Buddy Pokémon for the first time, Trainer needs to:

• tap on Trainers portrait in the bottom left corner of the Map View,
• in the Trainer’s profile screen, tap the Buddy button to select a Buddy Pokémon.

After selecting, the first Buddy Pokémon, it cannot be removed but only swapped with another Pokémon.

Once Trainer selected a Pokémon as their Buddy, they can access their Buddy Profile screen in two ways:

To swap out Buddy Pokémon, Trainer needs to:

• go to their Buddy Profile screen and tap the Swap Buddies button at the very bottom of the page.

Trainer can view Pokémon they have previously set as their Buddy by tapping the Buddy History button that is located below the Trainer level progress bar in the Trainer’s profile screen. Trainer can also Swap Buddy Pokémon from the Buddy History page.

Trainers can only swap out their Buddy Pokémon 20 times per day.

When a Buddy reaches the Best Buddy status, part of the best benefits attained here is the CP Boost they get when used in combat. However, the calculations for the CP Boost can get quite tricky at first glance but are thankfully straightforward. Heres how it works:

• CP Boost Equivalent: When a Best Buddy is used in combat, it gets a CP Boost that is the equivalent of two extra Power-Ups, or a single-level up. For instance, if a Best Buddy Pokemon is at Level 50, its CP Boost will put it at a CP equivalent to a Level 51 Pokemon.
• Only Applies To The Buddy: However, its important to understand that this CP Boost only applies if the Pokemon in question is assigned as the Buddy. As such, players cant have a team that theyre Best Buddies with and with all CP Boosts. They need to choose only one Pokemon to receive the said boost.

Let’s start with the basics. To play with your Buddy in Pokémon Go, make sure you’re first Trainer Level 2 and have a Buddy assigned, then tap the Buddy icon in the lower left corner of the screen, next to your Trainer Profile.

Next, press the Play! button. Your phone camera will then activate. If you are in AR mode, you must find a flat surface. Point towards it until yellow footprints appear, then tap.

If it then says you are too close to your Buddy, back away a step or two, and it should appear.

Again, walking a Buddy Pokémon isn’t a fast way to get a lot of Candy but it’s a consistent way to get a steady stream of Candy.

How Do You Evolve Wurmple Into Dustox And Beautifly

Wurmple is like the Caterpie of Gen 3. Its a little bug that only requires 12 candy to evolve into its second stage. Unlike Caterpie, Wurmple has a split second-stage evolution: It can evolve into either Cascoon or Silcoon.

Split evolutions are something weve seen since Gen 1, also with Eevee. Evolve an Eevee and you could get Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon. Picture that, but with only two second-stage possibilities and with each of those possibilities having a third stage evolution.

Important: Unlike Eevee in Gen 1, theres no trainer name trick you can use to guarantee control of at least one of each evolution.
