Where To Find Eevee In Pokemon Sword & Shield

As with previous Pokémon games, Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon can be obtained by using evolution stones on Eevee. Because Sword and Shield dont have an Ice Rock or Moss Rock, Glaceon and Leafeon can also be obtained using this method of evolution. The stones needed to evolve Eevee into these five Eeveelutions can be found on the ground in various locations throughout the region.

The stones needed to evolve Eevee into these Pokémon, and where to find the stones, are as follows.

Catching One In The Wild

Thankfully, Eevee, isnt terribly hard to catch in Pokemon Sword & Shield. On your way to Turffield for the first Gym battle, youll go through Route 4, which is a great spot for trying to find an Eevee.

It has a pretty low spawn rate compared to the other Pokemon, so just keep wandering around in the tall grass until it appears. Once it does, just catch it like any other Pokemon: weaken it a little, then throw a Poke Ball.

To recap, heres where to get Eevee in Pokemon Sword & Shield:

  • If you played Lets Go Eevee, talk to the boy NPC at the Meetup Spot to get one for free.
  • You can also catch one in the tall grass along Route 4.
  • Thats all you need to know about where to get Eevee in Pokemon Sword & Shield. Be sure to check out our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.

Pokemon Sword and Shield introduce a variety of new Gen 8 Pokemon to the series, and much like previous games, many of these monsterslike Applin and Milcerycan only evolve using specific methods. However, the Switch games also introduce a couple of new ways to evolve old Pokemonspecifically Eevee, which you can catch fairly early on in your adventure at Route 4, just outside Turffield.

In past Pokemon titles, you could only obtain Glaceon or Leafeon by traveling to a specific location and leveling your Eevee up, but Sword and Shield have simplified this process by letting you evolve it using elemental stones. That isnt the only way you can obtain Eevee evolutions in the new Pokemon games, either. Below weve rounded up all the ways you can get Eevee evolutions in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Where To Get Eeevee In Pokemon Sword And Shield

Finding an Eevee in Pokemon Sword and Shield is fairly easy. Trainers can find Eevees in the grass along Route 4 during any time of day. Take the train from Wedgehurst to this area to start searching for this previously elusive Pokemon.

While the location is straightforward, that doesnt mean the area is overflowing with Eevees. Eevee is just one of several Pokemon that can be found in the tall grass on Route 4. Take some time walking around the tall, yellow grass and keep an eye out for Eevees long ears.

Once an Eevee is spotted, just run into it to start the battle and go about it like any other Pokemon. Weaken the Eevee, throw a Poke Ball, and then add it to the party.

Another way to catch an Eevee is through Max Raid Battles located on Bridge Field, East Lake Axewell, Motostoke Riverbank, and Rolling Fields. While in the Wild Area, approach Pokemon Den beacons to take on Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon. When Pokemon Dens are emitting a ray of light that means there are Dynamax Pokemon hiding there, ready to be captured. Trainers wont know which Pokemon are waiting inside except for a shadow outline and mention of its type.

This isnt the most efficient way of getting an Eevee as there is a long list of Pokemon that could appear in any given den and Wishing Pieces are one of the games most expensive items. The benefit of catching an Eevee in a Max Raid Battle is that it will have much stronger base IV stats than those caught out in the wild.

How To Evolve Eevee In Pokemon Sword And Shield

Just like locating an Eevee is pretty easy, its also easy to evolve an Eevee in Pokemon Sword and Shield. There are eight Eeveelutions, each with its own requirements for evolving.

Jolteon: Use a Thunder Stone on Eevee.

Flareon: Use a Fire Stone on Eevee.

Vaporeon: Use a Water Stone on Eevee.

Leafeon: Use a Leaf Stone on Eeevee.

Glaceon: Use an Ice Stone on Eevee.

Espeon: Raise Eevees friendship level by walking and battling with Eevee, then level it up during the day.

Umbreon: Raise Eevees friendship level by walking and battling with Eevee, then level it up at night.

Sylveon: Raise Eevees friendship level by walking and battling with Eevee, then level it up while it knows any Fairy-type move.

Here are a few extra tips. Look for stones on the narrow strip of land across from the Lake of Outrage, which can be found by taking a right when entering the Wild Area from Hammerlocke. This area can only be accessed when trainers have a bike that can travel on water. A tall ring of stones will be on the land, each with a different element stone next to it.

Trainers can have their Eevee hold the Soothe Bell to quickly increase the Pokemons friendliness. This item can be found in Hammerlocke. The blonde woman who gives trainers the item is in a house on the right of the entrance to the city. Another person living with her in the home can tell trainers what level of friendship their Pokemon is currently at.

    About Eevee And Its Evolutions

As mentioned before, Eevee is a Pokemon of possibility. Eevee has eight possible evolutions, some using an evolution stone, some evolving during certain times of day, and some evolve depending on how friendly they are to their trainer. Eevee is interesting because of the many different types that it can evolve into and the stats and movesets that go along with its types.

Interestingly, Eevee is not the only evolution that can be found in the wild. If players are interested in getting a select evolution at an extremely high level, each and every eeveelution can found in the late-game area called the Lake of Outrage during specific weather conditions. Additionally, players can just evolve their Eevee naturally, though evolutions like Umbreon, Espeon and Sylveon can be a bit tricky.

With those helpful suggestions, players can try to build there own team of eeveelutions, breed for a shiny Eevee, or just catch an Eevee and give it an Everstone to keep it the same forever.

Pokemon Sword and Shield is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

How Do I Get An Umbreon

To get Umbreon or Espeon, you need to raise your Buddy Pokémons Friendship level:

  • Make the Eevee you want to evolve your Buddy.
  • Walk with your Eevee Buddy for at least 10 KM and earn two Eevee candy.
  • While that Eevee is still your Buddy, hit the Evolve button during the day to get Espeon, or at night to get Umbreon.
  • What Is Pokemon Soft Reset

A soft reset in pokemon means restarting the game without quitting the overall game. By Soft resetting, you wont have to see the intro cutscene and can jump into the game directly. Note that SRing wont delete your game file.

To perform the soft reset, you need to hold a combination of buttons together. It differs from a hard reset.

On a hard reset, the console itself restarts. And on a soft reset, the game resets. If the time duration for hard reset is 50 seconds, then the time required for soft resetting is 20 seconds. Check our epic guide on how to fix pokemon go error 0.

    Keep in mind that:

You cannot perform a soft reset in the middle of saving a game. This might corrupt the game file and also damage your console.

    You may ask:

Is soft resetting cheating in Pokémon?

No, soft resetting is not cheating in pokemon. You are just changing the pseudorandom number generator of the game to predict the next result of the games algorithm.

Now lets get to know why you should use this feature.

    To summarize:

    • Mine was level 30+ but its probably available lower
    • Be pretty good friends with Eevee
    • Have a fairy move on Eevee
    • I camped at least twice with my Eevee
