Mewtwo is a popular legendary psychic-type Pokemon who is known for its charged moves and psychic abilities. It has a maximum CP of 4178 with other stats including 214 stamina, 182 defense, and 300 attack. It is a generation I Pokemon that is from the Kanto region and is boosted by windy weather.
It is recommended to use Pokemon Go armored Mewtwo against fighting and other psychic type Pokemons. Since Mewtwo in Pokemon Go is vulnerable to bug, dark, and ghost type Pokemons, it is recommended to use them while catching it. If you own Mewtwo armor in Pokemon Go, then consider using its Confusion and Psystrike abilities as they are its power moves with maximum damage.

There are a couple of ways to get Mewtwo in Generation IV’s core games, but they all involve trading. The main method is to use the Pal Park found in Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum to migrate Mewtwo from FireRed & LeafGreen. This requires the latter’s cartridge to be inserted into the Nintendo DS’s GBA Slot, which will cause an option to appear in the Generation IV‘s games’ menus asking whether content should be migrated from the older games.
The National Pokédex has to be unlocked for this to be possible, a feat achieved once the Sinnoh region’s Pokémon are all seen.

Capturing Mewtwo In Pokmon Bdsp
To collect the Genome Slate in Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, players will need to either collect 3 Small Mysterious Shards or 1 Big Mysterious Shards, which are items exclusive to the Grand Underground. After unlocking access to the Grand Underground players will have the chance to find Mysterious Shards while mining within the walls. It might take a while for them to spawn since they are completely random. Once the Genome Slate is purchased, bring it back to Ramanas Park to unlock the ability to fight Mewtwo.
Mewtwo will be level 70 like all the other legendary Pokémon in Ramanas Park. Its moveset will be Psychic, Power Swap, Guard Swap, and Mist. Players looking to capture Mewtwo should bring a Pokémon with a statue ailment move like Thunder Wave or Hypnosis. This will make it easier to catch. Alternatively, players can just defeat Mewtwo in the battle for the experience.
Mewtwo also has the chance of appearing in its Shiny form. Although, the odds of this happening are extremely slim. It would appear with an alternate green color. With Mewtwo being the final Pokémon in Ramanas Park, players can leave to be rewarded a Mewtwo Statue from the employee.

How To Get Mewtwo In Pokmon Go
As such, packing your team with at least two Bug, Dark, or Ghost-type Pokémon will help you weaken Mewtwo enough to catch him.
Avoid bringing Fighting or Psychic-type Pokémon, as they wont help you much in your fight against it.
You can also stock up on candy and more effective Pokeballs.
In particular, use the Circle Lock Throwing Technique for your Pokeballs and use Golden Razz Berries for the best possible chance.
When it comes to catching Mewtwo, it will only appear during Events, as its a Raid Boss.
As such, you cant always catch Mewtwo and will need to wait for a special Event to take place.
When this happens, youll need to coordinate a Raid with some friends or nearby Trainers.
From there, you can fight and attempt to weaken Mewtwo and eventually catch it with a Pokeball.
Youll likely need to work with around three or four Trainers to catch Mewtwo but the more the merrier!
To take part in a Raid, youll need an EX Raid Pass, which means you need a good track record in Raid Battles and lots of wins under your belt.
So even if theres no Event where Mewtwo wil be available on the horizon, start taking part in Raids now to get your haands on an EX Raid Pass so youre ready for when it appears.

What Is Mewtwo Catch Rate
Mewtwo appeared in Pokémon Go for a year in EX Raids from September 2017 to September 2018. As of today, the catching of it is rare to see in the game. But it can be obtained through trades between Trainers. Psychic-type is one of the most striking and popular species in the game due to its particular power and even its rarity alongside Mew. The capture rate is somewhat higher and lies in the range 6-7%, double the legendary bird and 3 times of the Kyogre. The capture rate is currently the highest in the legendary Pokémon.
The lowest probability rate of catching a Legendary Pokémon is currently 3%. In other words, you have a 3% chance of catching a Legendary if you dont use any modifiers, such as berries, Nice throws, or something like that.

How To Catch Mewtwo In Pokmon Go
Mewtwo has been popping in and out of Pokémon Go since the launch of the game, only being available at certain points through special Raid battles and events.
Unfortunately, unless you were quick and paid for a spot in the recent Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event, there is currently no way to catch Mewtwo in Pokémon Go at the moment. Previously, Mewtwo was available during Raids in 2018 as well as a special Armoured version not too long ago, but these appearances were only available for a limited time.
Fret not, however, as Niantic will no doubt throw everyones favorite Legendary Psychic Pokémon back into the mix in the near future. The bad news is that all we can do now is wait. At least theres plenty to do in Pokémon Go to keep us all entertained until this happens, like gazing lovely at your newly-captured Mew.

Stage : Reach Level 25 Battle 10x Raids Evolve A Gyarados
If youve already reached Level 25, youll also get auto-completed for that task. If you havent, once again, crack some Lucky Eggs and do as many back-to-back Legendary Raids as you need to to level up. 20,000 XP a pop, what can I say?
For the 10x Raids, you can either get a group of friends together and get a Raid Train going, or you can find a couple Tier 4 or Tier 5 Raids you cant possibly beat on your own and just lose them over and over again until you get to 10. Its time-consuming but its not difficult.
Evolving a Gyarados, if you dont have the Candy now thats difficult. Sadly, previous evolutions dont count. You have to evovle a new one. So if you just evolved a Shiny, or were waiting to evolve a Shiny, tough luck. Youll need to either track down enough Magikarp, Pinap Berry them, and get to 400 Candy, or Raid your heart out until you get enough Rare Candy to make up the difference, or both.
Yeah, this one can be a real wall.
How To Get Shiny Mewtwo
You can actually capture a shiny Mewtwo if you want, though, it will take immense time and patience. Don’t worry if the Mewtwo doesn’t appear shiny before you approach it as the game doesn’t determine if it’s shiny or not until you activate the initial cutscene.
So, you can simply save before approaching it and “soft reset” until you get the shiny Mewtwo. All you have to do for this is save before approaching, watch the initial cutscene, and see if it is shiny or not in battle. If it isn’t, all you need to do is head to the home screen on your Switch and close out of Pokemon Let’s Go.
Reopen the game, reload your save, and retry again and again until you finally get the chance to capture a shiny Mewtwo. Good luck!

Where To Find Mewtwo In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
Mewtwo can be found in the Genome Room at Ramanas park a post-game area that becomes available once players have defeated the Elite Four and unlocked the National Dex. Unfortunately, however, encountering Mewtwo is far from a walk in the park, with players first needing to catch at least eight other Legendary Pokemon before the failed Mew clone decides to show up.
In order to encounter Legendary Pokemon at Ramanas Park, players will need to get their hands on special slates. When it comes to Mewtwo, they’ll need a Genome Slate, which, like the others, must be traded for Mysterious Shards at the counter to the left of the park’s entrance. This may all sound simple enough on paper, but players will need to find as many as 27 Mysterious Shards before they can get a Genome Slate, which will take most players at least four hours of grinding down in the Grand Underground to accomplish.
After players have caught the three Legendary Titans, Latios, Latias, and either the three Legendary Beasts or the three Legendary Birds , they’ll finally be able to pick themselves up a Genome Slate. They’ll then need to take this to the Genome Room on the raised platform in the center of the park and place it in the Enigmatic Pedestal to summon Mewtwo.
Pokemon Go Raid For July 2021 Is Mewtwo
Mewtwo is currently part of raids for July 2021. Mewtwo and Armored Mewtwo have been in the regular rotation of five-star raid for Pokemon GO for quite some time now. So if you miss catching on this month, there will most likely be more opportunities to do so in the future. Mewtwo has also been part of a Pokemon GO Tour event from February of this year and was part of the rewards for defeating Team Rocket back in October of 2020. There is also a chance that players of Pokemon GO will see a Mega Mewtwo evolution sometime in the coming months.
That being said, once the Pokemon GO Fest with Mewtwo as the five star raid boss is over this July, Mewtwo will most likely pop up again as a prize if players missed their chances of catching it this time.
In order to get the Mewtwo for this month, players will need to defeat then catch the Mewtwo in the Go Fest 2021 raid. The best counters for the well-known psychic Pokemon are:
- Gengar – Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball
- Gyarados – Bite/Crunch
- Giratina – Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball
- Darkrai – Snarl/Shadow Ball
- Yveltal – Snarl/Dark Pulse
- Tyranitar – Bite/Crunch
After defeating the raid, players will have a limited amount of time to catch the defeated Mewtwo. Use Premier balls and Razz Berries to catch ’em before the Mewtwo escapes.

Best Pokemons Against Mewtwo
In order to combat Mewtwo, I would recommend using a bug, ghost, or dark type Pokemons as only they can do maximum damage to Mewtwo. Here are the Pokemons that can be the right choice to battle with Mewtwo.
Armored Mewtwo:
Armored Mewtwo is the most preferred Pokemon for fighting against Mewtwo. Its iron tail and confusion moves shall help to beat Mewtwo.
Gengar:
Gengar is a ghost-type Pokemon that you can pick to fight against Mewtwo. Gengar has some great moves that can do significant damage to Mewtwo.
Houndoom:
If you have a trained Houndoom in your Pokemon collection, then it would also be a great option to battle with Mewtwo as it can do 160 damage to Mewtwo.
