Zapdos Moves And Move Sets

How To Catch Zapdos In Pokemon Go | Pinwheel | My First Catch! |

Zapdos moves are mostly Electric-type moves, with Drill Peck Flying and Ancient Power Rock thrown in the mix for PvP viability and lore fluff. Consequentially, 60% of the time, you will face Zapdos with Electric moves:

Fast moves
  • Drill Peck Flying
  • Ancient Power Rock

Zap Cannon, Thunder and Thunderbolt are all relatively similar, but Zap Cannon will hurt the most. Comparatively speaking, Thunder is often the easiest Electric move to be faced against.

Drill Peck can be problematic, as its only a 33 Energy move. Zapdos can charge and fire Drill Peck quite frequently, which makes it quite dangerous in longer raid battles. Eventually, dodge fatigue results in more damage taken compared to Thunderbolt. Drill Peck also deals a significant amount of damage compared to Thunder and Thunderbolt.

Ancient Power is not a major concern, but it does fit in the same problem bucket as Drill Peck: frequent activation, dodge fatigue and unusual typing

Pokemon Go Guide: How To Beat And Catch Zapdos

After two weeks of battling Articuno and Moltres, Zapdos is finally here . The electric bird is gonna be a tough one to take down. While he might represent Pokemon Gos smallest team, his electric type and attacks are going to make bringing him down a true challenge, and once you do you still need to catch him. Heres a guide on how to beat and catch Zapdos in Pokemon Go.

Zapdos is electric type, which is vulnerable to a few things, but as hes also a flying type youll really want to use a Rock type Pokemon with moves that match. Once again Golem is the best out there for dealing damage to a Legendary bird. Youll want to have a powerful Golem or two , and make sure that they have Rock Throw as their fast move, with either Rock Blast or Stone Edge as the charge move. If they dont, then nows the time to use all those TMs youve been getting from Raids.

As backup youll want to have any of the following: Tyranitar with Bite and Stone Edge, Piloswine with Ice Shard or Powder Snow and Avalanche, and a strong Dragonite with his powerful dragon attacks. For backup you can use any strong Ice or Rock type Pokemon with attacks to match.

Once you get the group, the right Pokemon team, and enough people just attack as quickly as possible. Do this all correctly and youll beat Zapdos and get a chance to catch him. Heres how to do that.

Thunder Shock* + Drill Peck And Thunderbolt

The legacy Thunder Shock performs better than Charge Beam due to faster energy gains.

Drill Peck fills a dual role here, both as Zapdos’s cheapest move and just as a solid STAB move. Pair this with Thunderbolt for the most consistent Electric damage option. If you’re feeling spicier, consider running Drill Peck + Zap Cannon. This leaves you significantly more reliant on careful baiting, but if you can land it then there’s no better nuke in Zapdos’s kit.

Where To Find Zapdos In Pokemon Lets Go

For those not in the know, Zapdos is one of the four legendary Pokemon that appear in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee. You can find Zapdos at level 50, and the electric-type bird Pokemon has Drill Peck and Thunderbolt as their main two forms of attack.

To find Zapdos, youll want to firstly head to the northern section of Route 10, above the sole Poke Center in the area. Make your way over to the small river, and use Sea Skim to surf down south.

You only need to go a short ways south before you can hop onto dry land, and find the doors of the Power Plant dead ahead. Within the Power Plant itself, youll find a ton of Voltorbs, Electrodes, and Magnetons. Your aim here is to work your way to the back left corner of the Power Plant, where youll find Zapdos in a wide open area.

When you engage Zapdos, youve got 5 minutes to defeat the legendary Pokemon in combat, before you can try and capture it with a Poke Ball. Pikachus electric attacks can chip away at Zapdos health, as can any water-type Pokemon youve got in your party.

After the battle, the 5 minute timer will vanish, and youve got all the time in the world to catch Zapdos. We hope youve brought some Great/Ultra Balls and Berries with you though, because its a tough creature to pin down.

Suggested Pokmon Tolick Lugia

Battling the stout Lugia will be a drawn-out affair, but youcan speed things up by taking advantage of its weaknesses against Dark-,Electric-, Ghost-, Ice-, and Rock-type attacks. Lugia can use Flying-,Psychic-, Water-, and even Dragon-type attacks, so you’ll want to tailor yourparty depending on the Lugia you encounter. Stay away from Fighting-typePokémonthey have a disadvantage against both of Lugia’s types.

The best partner against Lugia is undoubtedly Tyranitar. TheArmor Pokémon has every advantage you could ask forits Dark-type has an advantageover Lugia’s Psychic type, its Rock-type trumps Lugia’s Flying-type, and ithappens to be the most powerful Pokémon available, to boot. Use TMs to replaceIron Tail and Fire Blastyou’ll do more damage with Bite and Crunch or StoneEdge. Be careful if Lugia knows Hydro Pump, thoughit will greatly damage evenTyranitar. Consider deploying Water- and Ice-type Pokémon like Cloyster andLapras to combat the troublesome move.

Suggested Pokmon Todefrost Articuno

Articuno is an Ice- and Flying-type Pokémon, making it weakagainst Electric-, Fire-, Rock- and Steel-type attacks. It’s especially weak againstRock-type attacks, but that weakness is risky to exploit because Golem andRhydon are both weak against Ice-type attacks. Try taking a safer approach tothis battle by incorporating the Water-, Fire-, Steel-, and Ice-type Pokémon thatresist Ice-type attacks instead. And remember that Ice-type attacks are supereffective against Dragon-, Flying-, Grass-, and Ground-type Pokémon, so leave Pokémonrepresenting these types at homeespecially the reliable Dragonite.

There are only a few Pokémon that can deal supereffectivedamage to Articuno while resisting its Ice-type attacks. Fire-type Pokémon arereadily available to most Trainers and are fantastic against Articuno, so startthe battle hot by using Flareon, Arcanine, and others of that type. A Scizorthat knows Steel-type attacks will keep your performance sharp and incomingdamage manageable, and Omastar can be the best all-around choice for thisbattlebut only if it knows Rock Throw, a Fast Attack known only by Omastarcaught long ago that can’t be taught via a TM. Magcargo, Kabutops, Lanturn, Magneton, and modern Omastar have fantastic matchups with the Freeze Pokémon, but you mayfind their overall performance drags a little behind some Pokémon with higherstats.

How To Beat And Catch Zapdos Pokemon Gos Most Valuable Legendary So Far

Pokemon GO

Niantic

The third Gen 1 Pokémon GO Legendary Bird has been released after Articuno and Moltres before it. That would be Zapdos, the mascot of Team Instinct, Pokémon GOs smallest team, but the bird itself is arguably the best legendary released into the game so far.

To date, Pokémon GO has had a problem with seriously underpowered electric Pokémon. The only one worth a damn has been Jolteon, with others like Raichu or Magneton or even Ampharos not where they need to be stat-wise. Zapdos arrival should change all that, which is why you should absolutely be trying to snap him up over the course of the next week before he disappears.

Like all other Legendary Pokémon, Zapdos will be tough to beat, but probably not as hard as Articuno and Lugia, and closer to Moltres instead. That means you might be able to take him down with 4-5 competent teammates, but I would get a group of 8-10 to be safe.

As a flying/electric type, Zapdos has some pretty interesting counters, namely ice and rock. Thats rock, not ground, which Zapdos is strong against to a certain extent, because this is how the weird type system works in Pokémon.

Catching A 2nd Moltres In The Wild

You can actually catch another Moltres in the wild – and more beyond that – if you’re patient and dedicated to your legendary-farming craft. As with the previous legendary birds, these extra appearances in the wild take place as a rare Pokemon spawn with some painfully low spawning rates.

After you’ve grabbed Moltres from Victory Road, it can be a rare spawn on Routes 1-4, 6-8, 10-19 and 21-25. You’ll need to be flying on a Pokemon of your own for a chance of catching up with it.

Once I Defeat It How Do I Catch It

In terms of winning the fight, just hang in there and optimize your items and Pokémon squad. After that, use those Golden Razz Berries you just won and start throwing some curveballs. Theres an example below of just how you want to aim that special Premier ball to capture Zapdos easily fast forward to the videos end to see it.

Hopefully you now have a Zapdos, which means thats one legendary Pokémon down, and three to go. If you didnt catch Articuno or Moltres already, you missed your chance … but at least Lugia is still available.

Shadow Zapdos will be making an appearance in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how to find and capture this Pokemon. Shadow Pokemon has been a staple in the Pokemon series since the Nintendo Gamecube era with the release of Pokemon Colosseum. In that title, instead of traveling around the world to collect gym badges and become the Champion, players are tasked with saving Shadow Pokemon by stealing them from their trainers. The light in their hearts has been snuffed out so it is up to the player to go around the world and save them all. Shadow Pokemon then reappeared several years later in Pokemon Go as the way the game introduced Team Rocket to the mobile title. This is how players will be able to obtain a Shadow Zapdos.

MAXING OUT LEGENDARY ZAPDOS!

At the lake, there will be a large red tree bearing red fruit. All you have to do is walk up to this tree, and it will trigger a cutscene. Sit back and relax as you watch the three legendary birds: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres battle with each other before flying off in separate directions.

This begins the quest, and you can now track down the birds to find and catch them. All three are in different locations and have separate requirements for getting them.
