How Do Fast Moves And Charge Moves Work In Pokmon Go
Basically, you use fast moves to build up energy and then use that energy to unleash a charge move when you’ve built up a sufficient number.
Each fast and charge move has a different energy gain or cost associated with it, and finding the balance that’s right for you is key.
Efficiency is the most important aspect, though. You want to deal solid damage with your fast attacks, while also building up a steady stream of energy. Then, you want to spend that energy wisely with a charge attack that deals sufficient damage.
It’s not all about how much base damage each move inflicts, either. Arguably, the most important thing to note is how much damage per second you can inflict with each move.
Seeing as not every Pokémon can use every move, you need to pick that particular Pokémon’s best fast and charge moves.
Wait a minute moves are distributed randomly, aren’t they? Well, yes, but you can mitigate that somewhat with the use of TMs. Let’s take a look at those.
Pokemon That Costs 100000 Stardust And 100 Candies To Unlock A Second Charge Move
At long last, we have the most expensive ones, the legendaries. Luckily for you pockets , theyre very little utilized in Great and Ultra League given their high details in the game. And, surprisingly, on attacks, a solitary charge move is all that could possibly be needed to bargain sufficient harm.
Given the referenced above and their a lot greater expense, opening a subsequent charge continue on them is really interesting, however assuming you are as yet anticipating do as such, these Pokemon are:
Should I Just Pick The Moveset With The Highest Dps
DPS damage per second is a useful starting point. Its calculated by taking into account the damage dealt by a move along with the cool-down period before it can be used again.
There are lots of other more subtle factors, which are either considered or omitted by DPS calculators, but the figures are useful nonetheless.
You can find out the DPS for a move by looking it up online or more conveniently in a companion app such as Poke Genie or Calcy IV. These are both safe as they dont need your login details, and wont get you banned.
These tools are especially handy as they can tell you the alternatives available if you use a Technical Machine to change a move, as well as legacy moves which are no longer available.
Using Poke Genie is more time-consuming than Calcy IV because it requires you to take screenshots of each Pokémon before it can analyse it. But unlike Calcy IV, it has a built-in Battle Simulator which can tell you which six attackers to pick for any given raid boss, and can even take weather, the raid boss moveset and friends into account.

What Doesnt Tdo Account For
- It only considers the attacker, not the matchup. This makes the TDO formula simpler and more general, but if two enemies have very different stats, the TDO values will be off for at least one of them. Of course this means that TDO does not account for type advantages .
- Discontinuities: TDO calculates as if there were a steady stream of damage & energy going between attacker and defender. The advantage of this is that it is less matchup-specific: changing a pokemon from level 29 to 30 will not make a big difference. However if you want to find the winner for a particular combination of levels/IVs, TDO will be less accurate than a simulation. This is especially true for shorter battles where edge effects have not had time to average out.
Tankiness has some flaws too. Doing lots of damage actually should decrease your survival time because the enemy gains more energy. This is not accounted for in just DEF * HP, but for gym defenders it wont make a big difference.
In a world of simulations, what is the use of TDO anymore? A few things. Simulations are good at looking at very specific matchups, but it is very hard to average simulations in an accurate way that gets an overall metric of a pokemon as each battle introduces different biases. This makes approximate TDO and DPS an attractive, yet approximate, overall metric.
Are Xl Pokmon Stronger
XL is, as you may have guessed, extra large for the same thing. It would seem, though it is not always the case, that a Pokemon with XL for height or weight tends to have a higher CP. This remains untrue, however, as other users have noted that their XS Pokemon have had better stats than some XL Pokemon.

The Gen 3 legends have been easy to obtain in Pokemon Go, due to them being featured as research breakthrough encounters on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, these breakthroughs do have a CP limit, so if youre to obtain their maximum CP then itll cost you a lot of Stardust to do so.
Interestingly, the other third of the Weather Trio, Rayquaza, has a maximum CP of 4,363. Despite this, the mon is generally considered as the most powerful Pokemon from the Hoenn region, Rayquaza has more type advantages, and is doubly effective against grass and ground-types.

Derivation Of The Tdo Formula
In the last section we showed the TDO formula and justified its usefulness:
HP and DEF are the base stats of the pokemon whose TDO we are finding. Base stats can be found in the game master file or on gamepress. Now we just need to find our pokemons DPS. We can find DPS instead of DPS1 because they only differ by a constant factor equal to the enemys defense but we are only finding something proportional to TDO anyway, so that constant factor doesnt matter.
To figure out the DPS formula, lets write a few definitions. A cycle is a series of Fmoves, and then one Cmove. wDPS, or weaveDPS is the damage per second you do on average throughout that cycle, while weaving together fast and charge moves. Since DPS is damage over time, over one cycle wDPS can be calculated as
- FDmg, CDmg are the damage done by your pokemons Fast and Charge moves. This depends on the damage formula.
- nFPC is the number of Fast Moves Per Cycle
- CT is cycle time: how many seconds the cycle lasts.
So now we need to find expressions for nFPC and CT.CT can be broken down into the time spent on each move type:
CDuration and FDuration can be found in the game master file. So now we just need nFPC to plug into the DPS equation. The number of fmoves per cycle can be calculated as
- FE is the Fmove Energy gain, how much energy you gain for using that Fmove.
- EPS is the Energy Per Second gained by either spamming FMoves or taking damage from the enemy.
- CE is the Cmoves Energy cost.
..and divide to get

If you find yourself in a bad matchup, you can use this to change out your current Pokémon for one that might do better. But beware: you can only swap once every 60 seconds, so if you swap first, your opponent can take advantage and swap in something of their own, locking you in against that threat.
Voire Can you cheat in Pokemon Go battle?
An exploit discovered in Pokemon GO lets people trigger a lag in the game during a League Battle match, and players want Niantic to address the problem while others are finding a way to counter the cheat. But some people have found a way to get an advantage over their competition simply by suspending the game.
Does size matter in Pokémon go PvP? When it comes to strength and battle skills, we still have no concrete answers. Some players have found that lighter, smaller Pokémon are more powerful than larger, heavier ones. Aside from these specific medals, there doesnt seem to be much meaning behind Pokémon heights and weights.
What Are Tms In Pokmon Go Anyway
In any Pokémon game, TMs or Technical Machines are special devices used to teach your Pokémon new moves. In Pokémon Go, TMs come in four varieties: Fast, Charged, Elite Fast, and Elite Charged. Each can be gained in a few different ways and used once to change a Pokémon’s Fast or Charged Move. You can read more about how to get and use TMs in our TM Guide, however, if you already know the basics, read on for the best moves you can use your TMs to replace!

Pokmon Go Moves List And Tms
Catching the right Pokémon, training it, and evolving it is only half the battle in Pokémon GO. Arguably, the most important aspect of a Pokémon is its moves, as you can bring down a much more powerful Pokémon if yours has the better moveset.
It gets a little bit more complicated when you realise that there are two different types of moves: fast moves and charge moves. The names are pretty self-explanatory.
In this guide, we’re going to list every single move in Pokémon GO in order of the damage they inflict, and explain how it all works from getting TMs to using a charge move.
Whats The Best Moveset For Mew
- Rock Smash & Focus Blast
You can have but one Mew in your collection, but it can have moves of every type. Combined, these factors make it very difficult to choose. Mew isnt a particularly powerful attacker, though, so arguably it isnt hugely important to have the best moveset for it.
Plus, as there are such a variety of moves, you might use up a lot of your precious TMs trying to get a specific one.
If you just want us to recommend a moveset, try Rock Smash and Focus Blast, as this is optimal against the Blisseys youll find in your local gyms.

Elite Charged Tm And Elite Fast Tm In Pokmon Go
Elite Charged TM and Elite Fast TM are special Pokémon GO items that allow you to change a Pokémons move by picking the new move that the Pokémon will learn. You can find the list of best Pokémon to use an Elite TM on here: Elite TM Tier List
Unlike regular Fast TMs and Charged TMs, using Elite TMs does not result in a Pokémon learning random move: you choose which one it will get. There are two types of Elite TMs:
- Elite Fast TM This Technical Machine lets you choose a Fast Attack to teach to a Pokémon
- Elite Charge TM This Technical Machine lets you choose a Charged Attack to teach to a Pokémon

Pokemon Go: Top 5 Most Powerful Charge Attacks
Pokemon GO has a wide array of moves for its titular monsters, and more are being included from the original series all the time, making picking and choosing between moves something of a tall task.
Charge Moves, in particular, are incredibly vital to battling in Pokemon GO, as they are responsible for dealing huge amounts of damage that Fast Moves simply can’t deal in one blow.

Tdo: How To Calculate A Pokemons Ability
While battle simulations are more accurate for specific situations, TDO, which stands for total damage output, can be a very useful way to rank pokemon and their attacks. TDO is equal to the amount of damage a pokemon can dish out before dying. The advantages of TDO include:
- It incorporates a Pokemons offensive and defensive ability in one useful number
- It is just a formula, so it can be plugged into excel
- You dont need to specify the defenders moves or stats
- If two pokemon battle, the one with higher TDO will do better every time
Actual TDO requires battle simulations to calculate. But TDO is easy to approximate with just a formula. This approximation is what is seen on pokemon spreadsheets*. Not everyone uses the same approximations, and some formulas are better than others. We have spent some time to come up with a formula that incorporates energy gains from taking damage and other edge-effects.
The approximate formulas for TDO and tankiness itself are simple.
DPS1 is your DPS against a target with 1 defense, and HP, DEF are the hit points, defense of your pokemon. But even though these formulas are short, the formula for DPS itself is a bit more complex. This is to take into account corrections for energy gains from damage and wasted energy gains from dying early. It is given in its full form at the very bottom of this page!
List Of Pokmon Episodes
Pokémon, known in Japan as Pocket Monsters , is a Japanese anime television series produced by animation studio OLM for TV Tokyo. It is adapted from the Pokémon video game series published by Nintendo. The series follows the Pokémon trainer and aspiring Pokémon master Ash Ketchum and his adventures with his electric mouse partner Pikachu , and a varying group of friends.
The division between seasons of Pokémon is based on the Japanese version openings of each episode and reflect the actual production season. The English episode numbers are based on their final airing either in syndication, on The WB, Cartoon Network, Disney XD or on Netflix. Subsequent episodes of the English version follow the original Japanese order, except where banned episodes are shown.

Proof That Tdo Is A Good Metric To Use
Then multiply by HP_A * HP_B on both sides of the equation to get the equivalent condition:
Therefore DPS * HP is what determines which pokemon wins. But DPS_A depends on DEF_B and vice-versa It would be nice to have only properties of pokemon A on the left side, and only pokemon B on the right side. So lets define a new variable,DPS1, which is DPS but with the DEF factored out. It is the DPS you would do against a target with 1 defense:
Plug it into the inequality:
And multiply by DEF_A * DEF_B on both sides:
So equivalently, the pokemon who wins is the one with the highest DPS1 * HP * DEF. Often TDO is seen written as ATK * DEF * HP you can see that these are similar because DPS is proportional to ATK. But DPS1 * HP * DEF is more accurate so it is the one we will use.

What About Secondary Charge Moves In Pokmon Go
With PvP Trainer Battles, Niantic also introduced secondary Charge Moves. You can buy them with Stardust and Candy, and TM them to whatever it is you need. So, what do you need? Typically, variety. If the best Charge Move is a full bar, get a secondary that’s multi-bar. If there are two possible types for the Charged move, get both. For example, a Mewtwo with Shadow Ball or Psystrike is incredible, but one with both? Gamebreaker! However, adding a second Charge Move is expensive so make sure there is a good secondary move before spending on this upgrade.
Sylveon Best Moveset In Pokemon Go
Sylveon has access to two Fast Moves: Charm and Quick Attack. Whatever youre going to use Sylveon for in Pokemon Go, it makes much more sense to go for the Fairy-type Charm and take advantage of STAB.
Its also wise to buy a second Charged Move for Sylveon, and while it will be costly at 75,000 Stardust and 50 Eevee Candy, its actually cheaper than giving any of the other Eeveelutions a second Charged Move.
Below, well detail the best movesets for Sylveon in both PvP and PvE that will make it a powerful fighter.
