Where To Get Squirtle In Pokemon: Lets Go
Squirtle appears in Cerulean City initially and is seen causing Officer Jenny all kinds of problems. Later on, this pesky ‘mon will appear in Vermillion City, where Officer Jenny will gladly offload it to you if you’ve caught 60 Pokémon
All three of these monsters spawn in the wild too, but it’s much easier to get them using the guide above, especially once you’ve bagged a few beasts and have unlocked fast travel with the ‘Sky Dash’ technique.
How To Find Squirtle
Squirtle follows the same pattern as the other starters. With a good catch combo or lure — plus some patience — you can find Squirtle in the little grassy patch on Route 25, right next to where you obtain your gift Charmander.
Whether these are intentionally easier to find remains unclear, but a catch combo chain of 2, then later of 11 caused Squirtle to spawn multiple times.
But, if you’d rather spend that time doing something else, speak with Officer Jenny next to the Pokemon Center in Vermillion City after you’ve caught 60 or more Pokemon, and Squirtle shall be yours.
How To Catch Bulbasaur In Pokemon Lets Go
Bulbasaur is the very first Kanto Pokemon in the Pokedex and is the first of the three starters which you can catch.
As soon as you make your way past Viridian City and enter Viridian Forest you should start looking for the bulb Pokemon.
The odds of Bulbasaur spawning are pretty slim but if you start chaining some of the local creatures, for example, Weedle or Caterpie, Bulbasaur should start spawning.
A catch combo of up to 11 Pokemon should be enough for Bulbasaur to appear in tall grass.
Alternatively, you can avoid catching Bulbasaur altogether, and receive it as a gift later on in the game.
Once you work your way through Mt Moon and reach Cerulean City, head over to the first house to the left of the Pokecentre.
Inside, the resident will give you a Bulbasaur for free.
Bulbasaur will evolve into an Ivysaur at level 16 and then a Venusaur at level 32.
After you beat all eight Pokemon Gyms, Professor Oak will give you a Key Stone and Venusaurite to trigger the Mega Venusaur evolution during battles.

Where To Get Squirtle In Pokemon Let’s Go
You’ll actually see Squirtle a little before you can actually catch the cheeky Pokemon, as it’s causing poor Officer Jenny trouble. It actually makes her abandon her post which lets you continue where you couldn’t before – and later, down in Vermillion City, you’ll find she’s caught the Squirtle. Can a Pokemon be put under arrest? Anyway, you know the score by now – the officer wants somebody to take care of the Squirtle and keep it out of trouble. That can be you, if you’ve caught at least 60 Pokemon – if you have, Squirtle is yours.
Like the other starters, Squirtle also exists out in the wild to be caught. Wild Squirtle can be found on Route 24, Route 25 and the Seafoam Islands – making this the latest ‘natural catch’ of these three in the game.
How To Get The Best Versions Of Bulbasaur Charmander And Squirtle In Let’s Go
Interestingly, catching the starters in the wild isn’t the only way you can get them in Pokémon Let’s Go – and, in fact, it’s not even really the best way to get them, unless your intended purpose is top-tier competitive play.
Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle are all gifted to you if you talk to the right people in Pokémon Let’s Go. Better yet, gifted Pokémon in Let’s Go have great stats: they’ll have a garuanteed one stat marked as ‘best’ and two others marked as ‘fantastic’, which is just slightly below best.
Even better, it seems as though those stats are tied to the Pokémon’s base stats – so, your Squirtle will have ‘Best’ or ‘Fantastic’ Special Attack and Defense, for instance – meaning their best stands tend to line up with their best use in battle.Here’s where to get these gifted versions.
Where to get Bulbasaur as a gifted Pokémon with high stats
In Cerulean City, the first house on the western side of towm – just as you enter from Route 4 – has a lady inside.
She’ll give you a Bulbasaur if you’ve caught enough Pokémon. You need to have caught 30 Pokémon in total – these can be of the same species, so it’s nice and easy to do!
Where to get Charmander as a gifted Pokémon with high stats
On Route 24, in the top left corner, is a man who’ll gift you his Charmander to look after if you’ve caught enough Pokémon.

Get A Free Bulbasaur From Pokmon Home
Pokémon Home is an app that provides cloud-based storage for all of your Pokémon. When you first download it and sign in on your smartphone or Switch, youll be greeted by Professor Grand Oak. This oddly-dressed new Pokémon professor is as generous as his contemporaries, and hell offer you a free Pokémon to prove it. Youll get to choose between Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander just like in the good ol days.
After you make your choice, your new Pokémon pal will be sitting in your Pokémon Home box. Just activate Home on your Switch, connect your copy of Sword or Shield to the app, and move Bulbasaur over.
Increasing Your Chances Of Rare Pokemon Spawns
If you’re incredibly patient, you might run across one of these rare spawns without doing anything special. But if you want to increase your chances of encountering rare Pokemon, there are two things you can do.
The first is using lures, just like you would in Pokemon GO. These items make you more likely to run across a rare spawn for a set period of time, with regular Lures being the least effective, and Max Lures obviously being the most.
The other way is through Catch Combos. You can learn more about those in our catching guide, but here’s a breakdown of how they affect your chances of coming across rare Pokemon:
- Chains of 1-5 double your chances of encountering rare Pokemon
- Chains of 5-10 triple the chance
- Chains of 10-20 means you’re 4 times as likely to encounter rare ‘mon, and so on, until…
- Chain of 31 and beyond stay at 6 times more likely to run across a rare spawn.

Charmander In Pokemon Let’s Go: Charmander Location For Gift & Wild Encounters
As with the other classic starter Pokemon, Charmander can be grabbed in one of two ways – through an NPC or in a natural catch, albeit a rare and difficult one. Here’s how the two processes work for the fire lizard :
- To get a Charmander without catching, you’ll want to first reach Cerulean City. This, again, is quite early in the game. North of Cerulean City you’ll find the Nugget Bridge leading to Route 24. The story of Pokemon Let’s Go will bring you this way anyway. As you exit the Nugget Bridge onto Route 24 proper, look north – here you’ll see a trainer standing against some sheer rock face, and he has a Charmander with him. Like Bulbasaur, he has a requirement – if you’ve caught 50 Pokemon or more, he’ll give you his Charmander.
- For your wild Charmander location, you’ll want to head to either Route 3, Route 4 or the Rock Tunnel that connects them. Again, this is a rare encounter that doesn’t even show up on the habitat section of the Pokedex, so you’ll need to do a lot of grinding, building up catch combos and using lures to try to lure out a Charmander. They are there, though.
Where To Find Bulbasaur In Pokemon: Let’s Go
You can add a Bulbasaur to your party quite early in Pokemon: Let’s Go, for some much-needed Grass-type coverage.
Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee owners can bolster their Pokemon party quite early on in the game by capturing a wide variety of Pocket Monsters in the first few moments of the game. Typically, in Pokemon Red and Blue, you could choose between Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle to start their Pokemon journeys. This changed with the introduction of Pokemon Yellow, the game the new Pokemon: Let’s Go series is partially based on.
Given that you start off with either Pikachu or Eevee now, depending on which version of Pokemon: Let’s Go that they’ve purchased, there can be a bit of an elemental dearth when it comes to your Pokemon party. Pikachu is an Electric-type, while Eevee is a Normal-type until evolved into one of its various elemental forms. Snagging a Bulbasaur is an easy way to add powerful Grass coverage into the mix so you can take on the first gym leader, Brock, with no problem.

How To Get Bulbasaur In Let’s Go
Bulbasaur is the first of the three original starters you’ll encounter in Pokemon: Let’s Go.
To get a free Bulbasaur from an NPC, head to this house nearby the Pokemon Center in Cerulean City. A woman inside will give you a Bulbasaur if you’ve caught at least 30 Pokemon.

How To Unlock Bulbasaur Charmander And Squirtle
Bulbasaur After having captured a total of 30 Pokemon, enter a house in Cerulean City and speak with a woman. Provided you’ve accomplished this task, she will give you a level 12 Bulbasaur that knows the moves Scratch, Growl, Vine Whip, and Leech Seed. As a side note, this Pocket Monster is also especially helpful when taking on the Cerulean City Gym Leader Misty.
Charmander After having captured a total of 50 Pokemon, head over and speak with a man on Route 24 just North of Nugget Bridge. Provided you’ve accomplished the task, he will give you a level 14 Charmander that knows the moves Scratch, Growl, Smokescreen, and Ember.
Squirtle After having captured a total of 60 Pokemon, go Vermillion City and speak with Officer Jenny. Provided that you’ve accomplished the task, she will give you a level 16 Squirtle that knows the moves Tackle, Tail Whip, Bubble, and Withdraw.
It all seems simple enough for any trainer to secure a stellar line of Kanto starters to train and bond with. It also can’t be overlooked that Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle can all follow behind trainers as they explore the classic region on Nintendo Switch hardware. Plus they look adorable waddling behind the main character, so that’s a nice added bonus.

Squirtle In Pokemon Let’s Go: Squirtle Location For Gift & Wild Encounters
The final of the three starters from the classic games is Squirtle, and Squirtle is the last to show up on Pokemon Let’s Go in either form. You won’t be able to nab Squirtle until one further city in the game, and it won’t appear in the wild until much later. Here’s how it works:
- To get a Squirtle without catching, you’ll need to reach Vermillion City. You’ll see a Squirtle causing Officer Jenny trouble in Cerulean City, and when you reach Vermillion you’ll see Jenny again – and this time she’s caught the cheeky little Pokemon. She’s willing to give it to you to keep it on the straight and narrow, but she’ll need proof you know what you’re doing – having caught 60 Pokemon should do it.
- If you want a wild Squirtle encounter, you will sadly need to wait until some of the later routes in the game out on the islands, where you’ll use Sea Skim to get out onto the water. Look for wild Squirtle on Route 24, Route 25 and the Seafoam Islands area of Kanto. You’ll reach these areas a little later, but the same rules apply – it’s a super rare encounter not mentioned in the Pokedex, and you’ll need to use catch combos and lures to raise your chances of bumping into a Squirtle.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are the third and final pair of core series games of Generation VII. They are remakes of the 1998 Generation I game Pokémon Yellow. The games were released on the Nintendo Switch. The games take place in the Kantoregion, and are the second of two remakes taking place in Kanto, following Generation III games Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen in 2004.
The games were announced worldwide on May 30, 2018, at the Pokémon 2018 Video Game Press Conference in Tokyo, Japan. The paired versions were released worldwide on November 16, 2018. All copies of the game are playable in nine languages: Japanese, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
How To Find Charmander
You can also get a Charmander in a few different ways. Routes 3 and 4 provide your first chances of acquiring the fire lizard. It seems fairly common as well, since a 10-chain catch combo made Charmander show up regularly until the chain broke.
Charmander also has a chance of appearing throughout the Rock Tunnel.
If you want a faster way of obtaining Charmander, though, head to Route 24, just north of the Trainer Bridge. You’ll find a man standing there with a Charmander, looking for a better trainer to care for it. If you’ve caught over 50 Pokemon, that trainer is you.

Where To Get Bulbasaur In Pokemon Let’s Go
A free Bulbasaur can be had from an NPC in the game found in a house in Cerulean City. The house is one row down from the topmost row of the city, and it’s the furthest house on the left, next to the Pokemon Center. You must have caught at least 30 Pokemon to get the trainer to hand it over to your care, but if you meet that requirement you’ll be handed the Bulbasaur with no further questions asked!
If you want to catch Bulbasaur naturally, take yourself back to Viridian Forest, one of the earliest ‘dungeon’ style areas of the game. Bulbasaur can be a wild Pokemon spawn here, but very, very rarely, so be prepared to crack out some lures and catch a lot of Pokemon trying to get them to spawn.
Bulbasaur In Pokemon Lets Go: Bulbasaur Location For Gift & Wild Encounters
There are two ways to get your hands on a Bulbasaur in Pokemon Lets Go one which involves a friendly NPC wholl simply give you Bulbasaur, and one way which involves catching it in the wild though the chances there are much more slim.
- To get a Bulbasaur without catching, you simply need to head to a particular NPC that can be found in Cerulean City. Youll want a house thats just to the left of the Pokemon Center making it nice and easy to find. Head inside and chat to the chap within. He has a Bulbasaur he wants to offload, but he wants a decently experienced trainer. If youve caught at least 30 Pokemon , hell hand the Bulbasaur over into your care.
- For a wild Bulbasaur Location, youll need to hjead to Viridian Forest. As far as we can tell, this is the only place in Pokemon Lets Go where Bulbasaur appear in the wild, and this is true in both versions of the game. This is a rare spawn, so dont expect to see it often. Remember, you can up your chances of seeing rare spawns with Lure items or by chaining together catch combos.
