Lets Go, Pikachu & Lets Go, Eevee also features lots of in-game trades where you give a Pokémon to an NPC in exchange for one that might be rarer. To make these even more special, some alternate-typed species from Pokémon Sun & Moon are available that you cannot trade for in Lets Go, Eevee.
For Lets Go, Pikachu, this includes the Ice-type Alolan Sandshrew, who evolves into Sandslash and is one of the only Steel-type Pokémon in the game. You also can trade for Alolan Grimer, who gains the equally elusive Dark-type in addition to Poison.
Pokemon Go Features In Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu And Eevee
There are a lot of similarities between Pokemon Go and Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee. The game implements several features from the AR app, and both can interact with each other. Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee features a map which is similar to the one in Pokemon Go, with Pokemon appearing as the trainer walks around. Players can select which pokemon they want to battle as they move around the game world. The capturing system is also heavily inspired by the one in Pokemon Go. When facing a pokemon, a white circle appears around it. Players must then use the Joy-Con to throw a Poke Ball and hit somewhere inside the white circle. Just like in Pokemon Go, there are additional circles which players can hit in order to receive bonuses and capture pokemon more easily.

With the inability to evolve Eevee, it can be significantly less powerful as a small normal-type. But rather than Lets Go, Pikachu you have not three, but eight possible moves you can learn from the same tutors, with each offering 2-3 different powerful and unusually-typed moves.

Each of these are themed after the evolved forms your partner cant take. Celadons tutor provides Water, Electric, and Fire-type moves, Celadon provides Dark and Psychic-type moves, and Fuschias tutor teaches you Ice, Grass, and Fairy-type moves. These are greatly powerful moves, but also let you customize your Eevees moveset in any number of ways, far more than your partner in Lets Go, Pikachu.
Lets Go Eevee: Exclusive Pokmon
Lets Go, Eevee has its share of exclusives as well. Specific to this game are the Vulpix, Meowth, Bellsprout, Ekans, Koffing, and Pinsir families. Once again, you can trade with your friends, but especially with Meowths fame in the anime, this might be the version to go with.
Another important note is that one of these exclusives, Pinsir, has a mega-evolution that you can buy a stone for in the Indigo Plateau near the end of the game. If you want an exceptionally powerful bug-type to face Elite 4 and dont have a friend to trade for it, this version is the only one you can easily use it in.

How Does Transferring Pokemon From Go Work
The Let’s Go games connect to Pokemon Go via Bluetooth, and the ability to transfer Pokemon from Go is unlocked as you progress through Let’s Go. Once you transfer a Pokemon, it is sent to a specific area called Go Park where you then have to catch it. We don’t yet know how stats will transfer .
Masuda did confirm that Pokemon that are shiny in Go will remain shiny in Let’s Go. That’s a big deal, since certain Pokemon Go events make shiny Pokemon far more common than they ever would be in the main Pokemon games. However, any Pichu, Pikachu, or Raichu with special hats in Go cannot be transferred to Let’s Go.
Are They Pokemon Yellow Remakes
This was a prominent rumor, but it’s not accurate. The Let’s Go games are entirely new games in the main series. They are heavily inspired by Yellow, though, and Pikachu or Eevee stays by your side the whole game rather than going in a Poke Ball while you explore. These games are set in Kanto, but we don’t know what the story will be like.

If you pick up Lets Go, Eevee!, the fluffy Eevee will, of course, be your partner. Its a fan favorite with all the Eevee merch and fanart floating about, its no wonder this little cutie finally got a moment in the spotlight. Eevee may be a normal type, but with the special moves it can learn from Move Tutors, it sure can pack a punch!
Its worth noting that your partner Pokémon in either game cannot evolve, so that might factor into your decision of which one to buy. If you remember The Battling Eevee Brothers episode of the anime, youll know that Eevee is more than wonderful without the need to evolve. We love you, Eevee!
How To Catch Mew And Meltan Two Of The Game’s Legendary Pokmon
“Pokémon: Let’s Go” will also feature its share of legendary Pokémon, those that only appear once in the game. Mew was originally a secret Pokémon in “Pokémon: Red & Blue,” but can be obtained by purchasing a Poké Ball Plus or transferring it from “Pokémon Go.”
The three legendary bird Pokémon from “Red & Blue” will return as well: Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno. Players will need to find them on their remote islands and defeat them in battle for a chance to catch them.
A brand-new legendary Pokémon, Meltan, can be obtained by transferring Pokémon from “Pokémon Go” to “Let’s Go.” The first time a player connects their Switch to the mobile game, they will get a special item called a mystery box containing Meltan.

Battling Trainers And Gym Leaders Is Mostly The Same As Past Pokmon Games
Like in past Pokémon games, players will need to overcome other trainers and gym leaders to progress through the game. Players can take up to six pokémon into battle and take turns choosing their attacks. Pokémon have different elemental weaknesses based on their type and each gym leader focuses on a specific type of Pokémon. There are eight gym leaders in the Kanto region and beating them all will allow the player to challenge the Elite Four, the strongest trainers in the game.

It’s really hard not to feel the pull of enchanting familiarity as you play.
Newcomers and those who have been out of the Pokémon loop for a few years will likely enjoy Let’s Go as a gradual way to get back into the games. The Pokédex only has slots for the first 151 Pokémon from Gen 1, so you’ll start off with what you’re already familiar with. This also keeps the type system from getting too complicated for newcomers who are unfamiliar with Pokémon’s current combat system. As expected, some of the Pokémon are exclusive to one game or the other, so you’ll have to trade with someone who has the other version in order to complete your Pokédex.
You’ll also face off against all of the original gym leaders, including Brock and Misty. And of course, Team Rocket is up to their old tricks with Jesse and James popping up throughout the land. This addition makes the games feel even more like a Pokémon Yellow remake. It’s really hard not to feel the pull of enchanting familiarity as you see these gorgeous renditions of an 8-bit game you played as a child.
Lets Go Pikachu: Special Pikachu Moves
In addition to dressing your Pikachu up and having him ride on your shoulder through your journey, one of the big advantages to choosing Lets Go, Pikachu is that you can teach your partner Pokémon several moves that are exclusive to your special Pikachu.
There are move tutors in Cerulean City, Celadon City, and Fuschia City who will teach you these moves. The latter two also teach your Pikachu a flying and water move, attack types that Pikachus arent usually able to learn. Since its weaker and unevolved, moves like this can help you put out a little extra power.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are 2018 remakes of the 1998 Game Boy Colorrole-playing video gamePokémon Yellow. New Mechanics Motion Controls Rides And Secret Techniques
As I mentioned before, you no longer fight every wild Pokémon you encounter. Taking cues from Pokémon Go, the Let’s Go games have you either press a button or move your Joy-Con in a throwing motion when it comes time to toss a Poké Ball. If you throw your Poké Ball at the right moment when the ring around the targets face gets smaller, you’ll be more likely to catch it and receive better bonuses. I personally found the motion controls a bit wonky here so I preferred playing in handheld mode since aiming and throwing was a lot easier that way.
One of the things I love the most is being able to ride some of my favorite Pokémon, like Arcanine, Charizard, or Onix. There are 19 Pokémon you can ride and they move faster than if you were to walk around on your own. The trade off is that there aren’t any bicycles in the game. But, for me, riding atop my favorite beasts is way better than peddling on my own.
In addition to catching mechanics, Instead of teaching various Pokémon traditional moves like Cut, Fly, and Surf, I was suprised to discover that the starter Pokémon learns Secret Techniques, which basically are the same things. When a tree blocks your way, Pikachu will chop it down. Need to fly to a different city? Eevee will pull out a strange balloon contraption for you to travel in. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this as first, however, I’ve since determined that these mechanics make your special starter a little more endearing as the game goes on.
Pokmon: Let’s Go Pikachu And Eevee Should You Play Them
Pokémon is one of those special franchises. Even when the games aren’t designed the way fans like, they’ll still buy a copy. Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! might not be as in-depth as the core Pokémon RPGs, however, they are very nostalgic and provide new experiences that we haven’t seen before. Most importantly, they’re still fun to play even if they aren’t like the core games.
If you’ve been a Pokémon fan for several years and want to introduce Pokémon to a friend or your kids, this is an excellent title to start with. Alternately, if you played the original games as a kid but haven’t played much since, this game is incredibly easy to get into and will seriously give you a trip down memory lane.

Bonding With Your Partner Pokmon Will Unlock Special Abilities And You Can Customize Their Appearance
Forming a bond with your Eevee or Pikachu is a key part of the game: Players will be able to customize their partner’s outfit, play with them and give them treats. Improving your friendship with your partner Pokémon will unlock special abilities that can be used both in and out of combat. Your partner will constantly follow you throughout the Pokémon world and will react when spoken to.
Can You Breed Pokemon What About Competitive Battles
There is no Pokemon breeding in Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee. Though battles against NPCs and other players follow the same turn-based format as the core Pokemon games, it’s not yet clear how stats work. That means that competitive Pokemon players, who rely on breeding Pokemon for good IVs and training for the correct EVs , may not have as much to work with in the Let’s Go games. That said, Masuda did mention during our Q& A session that the Let’s Go games are like any other main Pokemon RPGs in that they’re both “accessible” but with “depth” for those who want it.
The official competitive Pokemon series, the VGC, is currently played using Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. When asked what game players will be competing in next year, representatives of The Pokemon Company did not comment.
