Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu Best Team

Gaining Candies Through Catch Combos

Best Team for Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee: Pikachu Edition

Throughout LetsGoPikachu, catching Pokemon brings with it unique rewards that can be used to help boost particular stats. These are called Candies and can be used to boost anything from attack and defense to speed.

With catch combos, this increases your chance of obtaining more and more candies with each Pokemon you catch increasing your stockpile of valuable candies that can be used to boost your battling buddies. With higher level Pokemon needing to consume a larger amount of candies in order to increase certain stats, it makes sense to take full advantage of catch combos in order to stockpile a large number of candies that can be used to either help your strongest Pokemon reach its full potential, or simply help a low level grow much faster early on.

Pokmon Let’s Go: Indigo Plateau And Pokmon League

As well as the Elite Four themselves, there are also a handful of other things worth taking notice of at Indigo Plateau.

First, there’s a Super Nerd in the top left of the entrance area who’ll offer you a trade: your regular Exeggutor for their Alolan Exeggutor.

After you beat the Elite Four, meanwhile, there’s also a new merchant who appears here, just in front of the Pokémon Center counter. This person, dressed as a Poké Maniac, will sell you Mega Stones at a cost of $30,000 each. They sell every Mega Stone usable with Kanto Pokémon, excluding the four you got for the starters from Blue, and the two for Mewtwo.

Otherwise, again after you’ve beaten the Elite Four the first time, there’s a rematch to be had with them. You can battle the entire elite Four again as many times as you like, but their Pokémon will be stronger than the first time around – all about 10 levels or so higher.

There’s also one other special battle to be had back here, after you’ve beaten six Master Trainers, but more on that another time!

And with that, you’re all done – or are you?! You might have beaten the main story but there’s still more to see and do in Kanto. After waking up back home, be sure to check out the optional Power Plant if you haven’t already, or visit Cerulean Cave, for the most challenging hunt for Legendary Pokémon the game has.

All our other guides, meanwhile, can be found back on our main Pokémon Let’s Go walkthrough and guide hub.

In LetsGoPikachu, wagging the joy-con or Pokeball accessory opens up a new view where you are able to interact with your traveling companion in a number of ways. The cute encounter with Pikachu allows you to caress/stroke your Pokemon and even feed them, increasing their happiness and giving you your daily dose of cuteness all in one.

    Eevee

Eevee is the Pokemon thats the talk of the town right now, kitted out with a slew of new moves for type coverage across the board. The strongest of these moves include:

    • Sappy Seed
    • Sizzly Slide
    • Sparkly Swirl

These moves make for fantastic coverage on Eevee, along with the various perks they bring to the table. With the new Candy mechanics, Eevee becomes a powerhouse backed by majorly inflated stats, making it equally powerful alongside the giants like Charizard, Venusaur and Blastoise.

Eevee runs well with supporters like Mew and Muk-Alola, as well as the new offensive Paralysis spreader Melmetal. Most teams of the new format will likely look to include the fan-favorite mascot, so be sure to bring some moves to account for the type matchup! Dodrio and Chansey are both popular choices for a fighting slot in the party.

    Challenge Blue At Viridian Gym

Once Green has been taken care of, the next post-game battle for players to seek out is Blue. He’ll be waiting at the gym in Viridian City and, like Green, has access to some incredibly powerful Pokemon.

His team consists of Pokemon who are all level 66 or higher and even includes a level 68 Mega Charizard Y. This isn’t the only gym that can be re-challenged either, although it is definitely the most difficult of the eight that are available.

    Battle The Master Trainers

After defeating the Elite Four, players may start to notice that many of the game’s trainers now have a Pokemon symbol floating above their heads. Placing that specific Pokemon at the front of their party will allow players to fight these trainers once more.

Although they are a little more difficult the second time around, the real challenge is finding them all. There are a lot of them scattered around Kanto 153, to be exact so those hoping to complete all of the extra content in the game can expect to devote quite a bit of time to tracking them all down.

    Skipping The Starter Trio

Just like in the original Pokémon Yellow, a player can find a Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle based on the ones Ash catches in the anime. A protective Bulbasaur is given to the player in Cerulean City, an unwanted Charmander is found just north of Nugget Bridge, and a mischievous Squirtle is given away in Vermillion City.

Considering that these gifted monsters have nearly perfect stats and that they round out the typing a party, skipping these monsters is a grave error. Wanting to catch every monster yourself is admirable, but for some, you need to take a freebie or two, or three.

Catching Legendary Birds In The Wild

My BEST Team for Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Pokemon Lets ...

While your first and perhaps only encounter with each of the four legendary Pokémon has to happen in their set locations, it is possible to see the legendary birds in the wild and score two or more of the same legendary bird. This possibility is something you would never see in Pokémon Yellow.

For a chance to see one of the legendary birds in the wild, you need to be riding on a flying Pokémon like Charizard. You also have to have a high catch chain going, so you must catch a lot of Pokémon in a row. A lure, which attracts rare Pokémon, must be active. No matter how many requirements you meet, you still might not ever see a legendary bird in the wild. They have certainly eluded us during the duration of our Lets Go gameplay, but dont let that deter your perseverance.

    • Golem – While a Geodude can naturally evolve into a Graveler, youll then have to trade your Graveler away to a friend to get it to evolve into a Golem, before getting it back off your friend.
    • Onix – You can find Onix in basically any of the caves scattered around the map of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, and it’s only powerful Rock-type Pokemon to have on your bag.
    • Rhydon – Evolving from Rhyhorn at level 42, Rhydon is definitely one of the more supreme Rock-type Pokemon in the entire game.

Top 10 Best Competitive Pokmon In Lets Go Pikachu/eevee

Nintendo have done a great job toning down the barrier of entry to the competitive scene in Pokémon. In previous games, youd be required to breed for the right IVs and nature. Not only did this take a ton of time, it was insanely boring. Then youd have to EV train and level up those Pokémon, such a tedious task.

If youre not familiar with natures. Each Pokémon has one and they contribute towards stat distribution. Some Pokémon will want a nature that decreases their Attack while increasing their Sp. Attack for example. See a list of natures here.

IVs are pre-determined on each Pokémon, and will determine how strong their stat is. If one Pokémon has low Attack IVs and another has high Attack IVs, the latter will have a lot more Attack even if theyre levelled exactly the same way.

    EVs no longer exist.

In Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee, the nature can be determined by paying the NPC in the Celadon City Pokémon Center $10,000. See the table here to find out how to get the desired nature for all Pokémon caught within 24 hours after paying.

After a catch combo of 30-32, any additional Pokémon caught will guarantee at least 4 good IVs. Then use candies to boost their stats!

If youre struggling to fill that last spot in your team, take a look at this list. Itll go through the 10 most competitive Pokémon in the entire game!

Recommended Move-Set: Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Dazzling Gleam& Thunderbolt

    Recommended Nature: Timid

    Skipping Post Game Secrets

Many people treat defeating the Elite Four as the end of the Lets Go games. However, theres still plenty to do in these games after becoming the Pokémon Champion. Once earning this title, a player can then attempt to capture Mewtwo, challenge Master Trainers, and challenge Red, Blue, and Green from the original Pokémon games.

Putting the game down after becoming the champion will make a player miss out on some of the best and most challenging content in these titles. Remember, just because youre the best doesnt mean that there arent new challenges waiting on the horizon.

Mega Gyarados Mega Gyarados amps up the already high attack power that Gyarados has. It also has high defense against Special Attacks, making it a tough target to take down.
Mewtwo Mewtwo can also learn Ghost Type move “Shadow Ball” via TM, an effective way to take down Sabrina’s Psychic Types.
Mega Pinsir Pinsirs can only be caught in the Eevee version of the game. Mega Pinsirs can deal massive Bug Type damage to Sabrina’s Psychic Pokemon.
Gyarados With its high attack power, Gyarados can deal massive damage using its Dark Type moves “Bite” & “Crunch”.
Gengar A properly leveled Gengar has a plethora of attacks that cause status effects on targets. Use its “Shadow Ball” or “Dark Pulse” moves to inflict heavy damage to opponents.
Mega Gengar Mega Gengar is a Ghost & Poison Type. It can get rid of most of Sabrina’s Pokemon, particularly Mr. Mime who is also weak against Poison Type moves.
Scyther A Scyther can only be caught in the Pikachu version of the game. Scyther’s X-Scissor & Fury Cutter are both effective Bug Type moves that can be used in this battle.
Slowbro Slowbro can learn “Shadow Ball” via TM – a strong Ghost Type move that can easily whittle down the health of Sabrina’s Pokemon.

    Catching Pokmon Out Of Sequence

Catching Pokémon is easier than ever before in the Lets Go games, but there is a useful trick in making some of the best and rarest pocket monsters spawn more quickly. By catching the same kind of monster repeatedly, a player will start a catching combo.

As this chain of catches grows, so does the likelihood of rare monsters appearing and monsters in the sequence having perfect, or near perfect, stats. Continuing a catching chain also makes it more likely for shiny monsters to appear. You dont have to catch Pokémon in a sequence, but ignoring this feature deprives a player of some rare and shiny monsters.

For Power Leveling Trainer Battles Aren’t All That Useful

So, you know the way you dont have to battle wild Pokemon anymore ? Well, catching them nets experience points for your whole team.

So, instead of having to train one Pokemon at a time by grinding the Vs Seeker and battling Bug Catcher Dougs lovely Weedles, you can actively just go and catch em all and build a powerhouse team while you do so. Speaking of that…

    Track Down Elusive Pokmon

The Kanto region inPokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will be veryfamiliar to fans who played the original Pokémon adventure. However, there area few key differences now that will affect how you complete your Pokédex. Inparticular, a couple of prominent areas from the previous games have differentfunctions in the updated games.

For example, theRocket Game Corner in Celadon City and the Safari Zone north of Fuchsia City wereonce places to get rare Pokémon, such as Kangaskhan, Tauros, Porygon, and Dratini. This is no longer the case, so you will need to find them through differentmeans. Many of these Pokémon will now be available as wild Pokémon, so makesure to thoroughly explore the many routes throughout the Kanto region. But beaware that some of these rare Pokémon require high Catch Combo counts beforethey will appear.

It’s also worthnoting that a few of these rare Pokémon, such as Scyther and Pinsir, areexclusive to the different versions of the game, so you’ll need to trade inorder to collect them all. And be sure to talk to every person in the gameyoumight be pleasantly surprised to receive a rare Pokémon from a generous Kantoresident.

    Pokemon Lets Go Power

My PERFECT Team For Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Lets Go ...

In previous Pokemon games, getting everyone on your team to level 100 was a serious milestone in itself. Changes to the systems in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee mean that power leveling to reach level 100 can be done more easily than ever if you know how.

In past Pokemon games, it typically took an age of monotonous grinding to even get one Pokemon to level 80. The final 20 levels were even worse still and as a result, I personally rarely endeavored to even bother with it.

Its a bit different in Pokemon Lets Go, though, because you can absolutely take advantage of the games new mechanics to game the system. Over the weekend, I took a Weezing the whole way from level 32 to level 100 in under an hour a lot of leveling, very fast. It was a bit mad, really, but now Weezing can really hold its own against pretty much any trainer in Kanto except for the Weezing Master Trainer, apparently, because even after maxing Weezings Special Attack and training it to be 25 levels higher, Donnie still has a better Weezing. Training Weezing to level 100 a supposedly fun thing Ill never do again. Cheers Donnie.

Anyway, despite my Weezing still being a bit rubbish at level 100, Ill let you know how you can get to level 100 quickly. Hopefully your Pokemon arent as inherently feeble as mine and can actually carry their weight against other Pokes later on in the game.
