How To Evolve Onix Into Steelix

Scyther Evolves Into Scizor Pokemon GO Metal Coat Evolution

Another semi-unique aspect of Onixs evolution is the need for a trade. This means that the player who sends the Onix will not get to see the evolution or keep the Pokemon, but you can bypass this by trading your Onix for another one that is also holding the Metal Coat item.

All players will need to have beaten the games first gym leader Roark in order to access the Local or Global rooms that are necessary to trade.

If youve met all of the benchmarks, heres what youll need to do:

  • Load up Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl.
  • Visit any Pokemon Center and enter the Local or Global Room
  • Setup a room to trade your Onix
  • Complete the swap and watch the Onix you receive become the Steelix of your dreams.
  • Thats all you need to know to evolve Onix into Steelix! For more guides, check out this list below

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl: Where To Find A Metal Coat And How To Use It

The Metal Coat is a must-have for fans of certain Steel-type Pokemon. Here’s where you’ll find it.

Plenty of Pokemon can evolve by reaching a certain level of experience. Others require the assistance of Evolutionary Stones. Rarer are the ones who need to be traded in order to evolve, like Haunter and Kadabra. But even within that relatively uncommon category, there exists a subset of species who need to be traded while holding the right item.

In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, one such item is the Metal Coat. The Metal Coat is necessary to trigger the evolutions of Onix into Steelix and Scyther into Scizor. Steelix and Scizor both pack a punch in the main game and are even useful in competitive play, so many fans will want to get their hands on one or both as quickly as they can.

Dig For Prism Scales In Pokmon Bdsps Grand Underground

The Prism Scale is an item that has been added to the Sinnoh region since the original Diamond and Pearl games, which originally only allowed Feebas to evolve by increasing its beauty. However, since players could no longer cook Poffins to raise their Feebas beauty after Gen IV, the Prism Scale was introduced so players could still obtain a Milotic. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl include both of these methods of evolution, but Prism Stones are a rare find that can only be dug up in the Pokémon BDSP Grand Underground.

How To Get Sinnoh Stones In Pokemon Go

Wondering how to get Sinnoh Stones in Pokemon Go? You’ll need quite a few of them if you want to complete the Pokedex in Pokemon Go because for some Pokemon, it’s the only method of evolution. How To Evolve Scyther Into Scizor In Pokmon Go

Back in the main series of Pokémon games, Scyther’s evolution into Scizor was somewhat awkward, requiring not only the Metal Coat held item but a friend to trade with too.

In Pokémon Go things are a little easier. You’ll still need to find yourself a Metal Coat, but instead of any kind of trading required, you’ll just need another 50 Candy to evolve your Scyther into Scizor, which can be done from the same in-game menu as you would for evolving any other Pokémon with the standard Candy method so far.

Note that the Metal Coat will be consumed in the process though, just like your Candy is when evolving as usual, so be sure this is the one you want to evolve!

Every Pokmon In Bdsp That Evolves Through Trading

Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl require players to trade in order to evolve certain species of Pokémon into their final evolutions.

Evolution is the cornerstone of the Pokémon franchise, and Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl require trainers to use several different methods of evolution to fill their PokéDex, including trading. Its no surprise, considering that trading has been a staple of Pokémon since its earliest days, that certain species of Pokémon will only evolve into their final forms when traded amongst trainers. The completion of most PokéDexs requires trading in one way or another with certain species of Pokémon being version-exclusive, and its certainly one of the easiest ways in the game to catch em all.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining PearlsNational PokéDex contains 493 Pokémon, 13 of which can only be evolved by trading, including 6 from the Sinnoh Dex that players can catch and trade before acquiring the National Dex. In addition, some Pokémon require a specific held item in order to evolve in a trade, so trainers should be sure to give their Pokémon these items before entering a trade with another player. Some of these items are particularly hard to find, however, and many arent even available until the postgame.

Steelix benefits from STAB moves like Iron Tail and Gyro Ball, and it can evolve into Mega Steelix using the Steelixite, its eyes turning blue and gaining crystalline spikes in the process.

How To Get Evolution Items In Pokemon Go

Now, I dont want to sound like a nagging Poke-parent – ironic given how lax parents are in the main games – but its time to up your game and start playing Pokemon Go every day. Yep, on your feet soldier. If you arent already, this small step will guarantee you a Pokemon Go evolution item every seven days from your seven day Pokestop streak and increase your odds of finding a Sinnoh Stone.

Regular special items such as Up-Grades and Kings Rocks sometimes even drop from regular Poke Stops but making sure to spin a Poke Stop every day and working towards your streak will ensure you get at least one every week. Bear in mind though that its impossible to predict what youll get so you might have to see a few Metal Coats before you find the Sun Stone you want.

The Sinnoh Stone, introduced with Gen 4, is a significantly trickier find but not impossible. There are two main ways to find a Sinnoh Stone. The first is to complete your seven day research breakthrough tasks. This essentially means earning one stamp each day until you earn a legendary Pokemon encounter. If youre lucky, at the same time, youll earn a Sinnoh Stone but they are not guaranteed. The second way to find one is to take part in trainer battles via PvP. Sinnoh Stones have been known to drop for both winners and losers. Good luck!

Farm For Metal Coats In The Grand Underground

There’s a whole lot of fun to be found in the Grand Underground. You can search for statues, for example a time-consuming ordeal, but well worth it if your goal is to catch ’em all.

During your Grand Underground expeditions, you may very well encounter both Bronzor and Magnemite. These two species have a rare chance of carrying a Metal Coat when they’re caught. This is your best bet if you need a second Metal Coat, and it’s the only reliable way to gather a large number of them if for whatever reason you’ve decided your life’s goal is to breed dozens of perfect Scythers or something.

Alternatively, you can teach TM46 Thief to one of your Pokemon and save some time by attempting to steal a Metal Coat from Bronzor and Magnemite instead. Honchkrow and Skuntank make great thieves, but the Sinnoh Dex is chock full of other candidates.

How Can You Get A Metal Coat In Pokmon Go

Just like other consumables in the game, youll be able to get a Metal Coat from spinning PokéStops. Due to the low drop rate of the item, around one percent, it may take approximately 500 spins before you find your first Metal Coat on an unlucky day. The main reason behind the high spin number is that the Metal Coat shares a similar drop rate with other evolutionary items. Youll need to get lucky twiceonce to get an evolutionary item off a PokéStop and one more time for it to be a Metal Coat.

You can use the daily bonus system to increase the number of items you can get from a PokéStop, increasing your chances of getting a Metal Coat even by a slight margin. If you visit a PokéStop for seven days in a row, youll receive more items each day, and the bonus will reach its maximum potential on the seven-day mark.

If you enjoy the games PvP aspect, you can also try competing in the Go Battle League for a mystery item. Though the drop rate of Metal Coats from the mystery item reward is unknown, its expected to be as low as its availability from PokéStops.
