Naming Trick
Two names can be used to evolve Eevee into the two Generation 2 evolved forms Umbreon and Espeon. These two are quite similar to the original three, all of which roll with nicknames taken from Pokemon TV show. The newest couple of Pokemon take their names from the 183rd episode of the Pokemon Anime called Troubles Brewing.
In this episode, we find trainer Sakura and trainer Tamao. These trainers use Espeon and Umbreon, respectively. Three other trainers are seen in this episode, one each for the first three evolutions of Eevee. These first three evolutions appeared earlier in the series, however, so their names are attached to their own nicknames from that earlier episode.

How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon In Pokmon Go
Sylveon was finally released into Pokémon Go on May 25th, 2021 as part of the Luminous Legends Y event.
Though it can only be used once, the easiest way to evolve an Eevee into Sylveon is to change its nickname to Kira and ensure you have at least 25 Eevee Candy.
Before you press evolve, however, make sure the silhouette for Sylveon is on the evolve button – if it’s not then you’re Eevee may evolve into a different Eeveelution.
If this does occur for the you, it can be easily fixed by closing Pokémon Go and opening it again.
Once you’ve used the name trick, Eevee can be evolved into Sylveon by earning 70 Buddy hearts with it, which means your chosen Eevee needs to be at Great Buddy Level. Swapping buddies will not reset your progress towards Sylveon, so feel free to change your Buddy Pokémon freely.
You’ll also still need 25 Eevee Candy.
This evolution method is in keeping with how you must have a high friendship level with an Eevee, along with it knowing a fairy-type move, if you wish to evolve it into a Sylveon in the main-line series.
Don’t worry about Eevee evolving into Espeon or Umbreon instead, because, thanks to gamewith_pkgo from Twitter, we know Sylveon will appear as a separate evolution option, allowing you to pick the correct Eeveeultion.

How To Rename Eevee To Evolve Into Sylveon Leafeon Glaceon Umbreon Espeon Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon
Evolving Eevee using the required 25 Eevee candy will produce a random evolution. However, you can control which type it turns into by renaming the monster beforehand:
- Rename “Kira” to evolve into Fairy-type Sylveon
- Rename “Linnea” to evolve into Grass-type Leafeon
- Rename “Rea” to evolve into Ice-type Glaceon
- Rename “Sakura” to evolve into Psychic-type Espeon
- Rename “Tamao” to evolve into Dark-type Umbreon
- Rename “Rainer” to evolve into Water-type Vaporeon
- Rename “Sparky” to evolve into Electric-type Jolteon
- Rename “Pyro” to evolve into Fire-type Flareon
There are some caveats here. This only works one time per evolution, so if you plan to use your Eeveelution in battle, make sure you’ve chosen an Eevee with favourable stats. The naming trick is currently the only guaranteed way to evolve Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon – once you’ve done it once, it’ll be up to random chance if you get another, regardless of what you’ve named it.

How To Evolve Flareon Jolteon & Vaporeon In Pokemon Go
Once youve used the nickname once, you need to use an alternate method for every other Eevee you evolve afterward. For Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon, youll need a bit of luck.
Sadly, there is no sure-fire way to guarantee youll get any of these three its completely random when you hit Evolve. Yes, you will get one of the Gen I mon, but you cant choose which one.

As stated, there are three ways how to get Sylveon in Pokémon Go in total. The first method of obtaining Sylveon is via the regular evolution method, as shown in the game.
The regular evolution requirement for Eevee, i.e., having 25 Eevee Candy, remains here, but Sylveon has some additional requirements that have to be met in order to get Sylveon the regular way.
The second thing you have to do is make Eevee your Buddy Pokémon, a concept introduced in the game to earn Candy with a specific Pokémon quicker than usual. Your Buddy Eevee has to earn a total of 70 Hearts in order to evolve into Sylveon, which is a large number.
Why? Well, there are limits to how many hearts you can earn per day. The following lists all the Buddy Activities that can earn Affection hearts and EP. Activities in italics denote that the buddy must be walking in the overworld map to count towards points for Affection and Mood.

There are possibly two evolution methods for transforming your Eevee into an Umbreon. As you have to evolve your Togepi to get Togetic, similarly, you have to develop your Eevee to get Umbreon.
