How To Visit The Isle Of Armor
To start the DLC, head over to the train station in Wedgehurst. Youll see a new non-player character to the right of the turnstile. Speak to him, and hell take you to the Isle of Armor if you have the expansion pass. If you dont, hell simply tell you that you dont have a pass.
If you purchased the pass while the game was open, you may need to restart to make sure it activates.

Pokmon Following The Trainers Are Extremely Slow
One of the surprise features that came with the DLC is that captured Pokémon can now follow players around in the Isle of Armor. This isnt something new as the same feature can be found in other Pokémon games, notably in Lets Go, Soul Silver, and Heart Gold.
However, a lot of the Pokémon that follow their trainers around are extremely slow. Even when walking at a normal pace, the Pokémon will most likely be left behind. In most cases, they will magically teleport back to the player again, but that doesnt feel legitimate, and it needs to be addressed.
Isle Of Armor Older Pokemon
While the new generation eight Pokemon are exciting, fans have been waiting to see a lot of their favorite Pokemon from older generations appear in Sword and Shield. With over 100 Pokemon from previous games newly available thanks to the Isle of Armor DLC, players will be able to get old classics like Alakazam while evolving Rockruff into all its different Lyconroc forms.

Obtaining The Exp Charm
The Exp. Charm is a new item that boosts the amount of experience points your Pokémon will get per battle. To get this, youll need to head to the dojo on the Isle of Armor. The first time you enter, youll meet a few new characters who will give you the item. This is a key item that automatically activates once you have it, and cannot be turned off.

Do I Need To Have Finished The Main Game To Access The Expansion Pass Content
No, you can access the new content as soon as you reach the game’s Wild Area.
Initial reports that the Expansion Pass features ‘level scaling’ that matches its difficulty to the Pokémon in your party were slightly inaccurate – it appears that the content scales to the Gym Badges you’ve earned rather than the level of your Pokémon party.

Can I Have A Pokmon Follow Me In The Overworld
Yes! This is one of the most exciting things that wasn’t revealed before the Expansion Pass released. After completing Mustard’s trials on the Isle of Armor, players can have the first Pokémon in their party follow them around in the overworld. This is definitely something we wanted to see in the base Gen 8 game, so we’re happy to see it finally is possible in the DLC.
Hunting Down Alolan Digletts
When you arrive on the island, youll meet a new non-player character who wants you to find all of the Alolan Digletts hidden on the island. There are 150 scattered throughout the new location. You can find them by looking for their little hairs sticking out of the ground.
This isnt just a busy collectathon; youll unlock Alolan Pokémon like Raichu and Marowak as you collect more. Youll even get one of the starters from Pokémon Sun and Moon for finding 100, so make sure to keep an eye out for Digletts as you explore.

Galarian Slowpoke And Slowbro
These two charismatic Pokémon from Kanto, Slowpoke and Slowbro, are found in a local, Galarian variant in the Isle of Armor.
Slowpoke is now a Psychic-type Pokémon, while Slowbro is both Psychic/Poison-type. Galarian Slowbro has access to a new signature move, Shell Side Arm, a move that hits on the weaker defense of the target . While the exact mechanics of the move are unknown and the official description is ambiguous, some players are already speculating about the topic.
How To Purchase Expansion Pass
To unlock the new DLC, youll need to purchase Pokémon Sword and Shields expansion pass. When you pause the game, youll see a link to the Nintendo eShop in the bottom right corner. Click on that and head to the eShop to purchase the DLC. The expansion pass is $30 and will give you access to Isle of Armor, as well as The Crown Tundra DLC when it launches in November.

The first expansion for Pokemon Sword and Shield, called Isle of Armor, is here. It’s super-weird to see my social media feed alternate between grim, sweaty close-ups of Ellie from The Last of Us 2 and snapshots of candy colored Pokemon frolicking to and fro. Like everything else 2020 has thrown at me, I choose to take it in stride.
I am not The Last of Us 2 material, so I decided to fly on over to the Isle of Armor on the assumption it wouldn’t show me footage of anyone getting brutalized or disemboweled. So far, so good. Isle of Armor is bright, fun, and lively. It’s already clear DLC is a better alternative to buying a “complete” version of a Pokemon game, like we’ve been doing since Pokemon Emerald for the Game Boy Advance. I’m enjoying Isle of Armor, and I’m excited to see what Crown Tundra offers later this year.
Isle of Armor is accessible as soon as Pokemon Sword and Shield lets you loose in the Wild Area. Your main purpose for visiting is to introduce yourself to the master of the island’s dojo, and eventually form a friendship with an adorable Pokemon who knows kung-fu. Once that main task is done, however, you’re free to wander the entirety of the island and scope out its unique Pokemon, its challenges, and its terrain.

Yes. Nintendo has stated that each version of the Expansion Pass will feature version-exclusive Pokémon and characters.
Currently, returning Pokémon Clauncher and Clawitzer are Pokémon Sword Isle of Armor exclusives, and Skrelp and Dragalge are Pokémon Shield Isle of Armor exclusives . We’ll update this with more information as it comes to light concerning Crown Tundra exclusives.
The rival Trainer you’ll face depends on the version of the game you have. Pokémon Sword players will face Klara, a Poison-type specialist training at the dojo of Pokémon Master Mustard. Pokémon Shield players will come up against Avery a Psychic-type user also under Mustard’s tutelage.
Do I Need To Buy The Expansion Pass To Access The 200+ Returning Pokmon From Past Generations
No, not necessarily. Following a free update that will launch alongside the Expansion Passes, players of vanilla Pokémon Sword or Shield will be able to trade those Pokémon with players who have purchased the expansion and caught them all. Therefore, it will be entirely possible to get your hands on those new Pokémon via trading.
Players without the expansion will also be able to bring Pokémon over from past games using Pokémon Home, the service which launched in February 2020 .

Side Quests Are Tedious & Boring
A new side quest was added to the game where players need to find 150 Digletts;that are scattered throughout the island, hidden with only their hairs visible from the top. This feat is very hard to complete, and without any external help, finding 150 Digletts will take plenty of time.
Most of the game’s side quests are easy but very tedious to complete. Very few of them feel rewarding and there isn’t much to achieve. Making them more interesting and adding a variety of;side quests;is certainly the way to go.

The Isle Of Armor: Everything You Need To Know
The Isle of Armor is a gorgeous location filled with beaches, caves, and forests. Here players will meet former Champion Leon’s mentor, Mustard, and become his apprentice. You’ll learn new skills to help you beat other trainers in the island’s dojo and will even meet a new rival to compete against.
Where To Find Clawitzer And Dragalge In Isle Of Armor
Clawitzer and Dragalge can be found in the wild at Workout Sea, Stepping-Stone Sea, Insular Sea, Honeycalm Sea and Honeycalm Island, with 1% rarity in most weather conditions and between levels 40-45. They are also available in five-star Max Raid dens at the above locations, excluding Honeycalm Island.

Isle Of Armor New Pokemon
Isle of Armor;is adding new Pokemon to Sword and Shield that aren’t from any previous generations. In the Master Dojo, trainers can find the new legendary Pokemon Kubfu. When players scale either of the Towers of Two Fists, they can see Kubfu evolve into one of the two forms that Urshifu can take.

Storyline Doesnt Fit Well
When trainers first reach the Isle of Armor, they will be bombarded with NPC trainers with under-level Pokémon. Nobody on the island recognizes the player even after;they became the champion of the region. This is not the case in other locations in the game as NPCs often do recognize the protagonist.
Dealing with low-level trainers quickly becomes repetitive, and there isnt much one can do to avoid the encounters. Setting the;Isle of Armor;as post-game content where NPCs would recognize the player and their prior actions in the game would have made much more sense.

How Much Does The Pokmon Sword And Shield Expansion Pass Cost
Parts 1 and 2 of the Expansion Pass are purchased together for £26.99 / $29.99.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to purchase the corresponding pass according to which copy of the game you own. If you own both games and want to access the new areas in both, that means buying both the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and the Pokémon Shield Expansion pass.
The safest way to ensure you get the correct one is to buy it through the in-game menus while playing your copy, but be careful to purchase the correct Expansion if you’re getting it through the eShop directly – Nintendo doesn’t appear to be issuing refunds if you buy the wrong one.
Those who pre-purchased before the Pass arrived received an early purchase bonus of a Pikachu uniform and an Eevee uniform . If you bought the Expansion Pass before 31st August you could receive Leon’s outfit as a bonus.
