What Is The Difference Between Pokmon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

It all comes down to a legendary Pokémon. If you want the chance to catch Dialga the Temporal Pokémon then you will want to get the Brilliant Diamond version of the game, while Shining Pearl will give you the opportunity to get your hands on Palkia, the Spatial Pokémon – other than that they’re identical.

Is There A Trailer For Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Rated In Australia As ...

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, like many Nintendo DS games, could only do so much with the graphical horsepower they had available at the time. While many undoubtedly loved those entries in the Pokemon series, putting them next to Sword and Shield really shows how far games have come, and how much Nintendo’s hardware has improved. In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, both Diamond and Pearl are getting what amounts to complete graphical overhauls out with the sprites, in with the polygons. Nowhere is that more evident than in the game’s trailer, which puts the new look of these remakes on full display.

The world Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl take place in is now fully 3D. Players can roam towns full of buildings that are no longer flat. Battles kick off when 3D Pokemon trainers throw 3D Pokemon balls out, revealing 3D Pokemon. If you haven’t caught on yet, the addition of a third dimension in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl may be the most obvious change when comparing the remakes to their source material. How much else has been altered, though, remains to be seen.

What Pokmon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Is About

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be faithful remakes of the original Generation IV games, and the plot is unlikely to deviate from what came before. A key theme of this remake is nostalgia, and the official website hammers that home. On it, a text blurb notes that “the original story has been faithfully reproduced, and the sense of scale in the originals’ towns and routes has been carefully preserved.” As such, it’s fairly easy to anticipate what players will experience.

The adventure will chronicle the player character’s journey to the top of the gym challenge. In their quest to become the Sinnoh region champion, the player will compete against their rival, as well as Team Galactic. Ever since Generation III, Pokémon‘s narratives have hinged on the evil teams and the marquee box Legendaries Diamond and Pearl are no different. However, what is still unclear is whether or not Platinum‘s narrative additions will be infused into the game.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Release Date And Time

As with pretty much every major Nintendo release, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are set to release on a Friday. In this case, its this Friday, November 19.

Gaming releases are often quite strange when it comes to their actual release times too. While the majority of AAA game releases release at midnight, there are others that end up not releasing until the next day.

The good news with Nintendo is that their own published releases are almost always released right at midnight local time and that should be no different here.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl should release on the Nintendo eShop at midnight local time on Thursday as it transitions into Friday, November 19 within each region. This has been the case for every Pokemon game that has been released in the last multiple years and shouldnt be any different.

In fact, you can go ahead and pre-order the game on the eShop to preload it and have it ready to unlock immediately at midnight late on Thursday night as it turns to Friday.

For those getting the game physically, you likely will have to wait until sometime Friday morning on November 19, as COVID has led to stores that were formerly open past midnight like Walmart to no longer be. Stores have also seemed to move away from midnight releases as well, but you may still want to check around with local stores to make sure they arent doing anything special for it.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is an open-world Pokemon spin-off game set in the feudal past of Diamond and Pearl’s Sinnoh region. Early gameplay showed a world that is reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, one that is filled with wild Pokemon to catch.

The goal of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is to create Sinnoh’s first Pokedex and aims to “break new ground” for the Pokemon series. Furthermore, it will feature Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott as potential partner Pokemon.

How Faithful To The Originals Are Pokmon Brilliant Diamondandpokmon Shining Pearl

Outside of those few new features and revamps, these remakes look incredibly faithful. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are beloved games thanks to excellent gameplay and region design. That said, those games did have some rough edges, like their extremely slow pace and odd Pokémon distribution that left some of the coolest new Pokémon to the post-game. The Pokémon Hideaways seem to be the remakes workaround for this issue.

On the one hand, it’s exciting that we’ll be able to explore the Sinnoh region and fight Team Galactic once again in an extremely accurate remake. On the other hand, its disappointing that these games reportedly wont have any Pokémon from the games after Diamond and Pearl. We won’t know for sure until we go hands-on with the game.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Release Date, Pre

The release date for both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have finally been announced, and the games are available for preorder now.

In early 2021, it was officially announced that Pokémon‘s Gen 4 remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, would be releasing later on in the year. Almost three months later, the official release date has been confirmed as November 19, 2021, meaning fans only have a few months to wait before they can experience the Sinnoh region on the Nintendo Switch.

The highly anticipated Sinnoh remakes have been a source of anticipation and speculation since 2021, and their confirmation in February 2021 was met with mixed response by fans. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl trade the pixelated graphics of the original Nintendo DS titles, Diamond and Pearl, for 3D models, though visually they’re still designed in the distinctive Chibi style that players are familiar with. The top-down camera view is also present again, and the latest Pokémon remakes seem to aim to strike a balance between overhauled visuals and a return to nostalgia.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Gameplay Differences

Previews for the upcoming Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes showcase quite a few changes coming to the updated DS games, compared to how they looked in the original games.

Theres plenty of major and minor additions coming to the games, revealed through various previews, so we rounded up the details in a dedicated article back in October. Weve included a quick rundown for you below, too.

By far the biggest is that the fairly recent change to Exp. Share where experience is evenly distributed between the whole party is present in both the Diamond and Pearl remakes. Its available from the start of the game and cant be disabled, just like in the Sword and Shield games.

Pokémon storage will also come with an updated change, as players will be able to switch out their team with Pokémon in the PC at any time. Theres even an autosave feature, which wasnt present in the 2006 originals, but this can be switched off.

HMs are also back, but you wont be needing to catch a Bidoof and turn it into a vehicle for world traversal this time, as HMs will call on a wild Pokémon to perform the action instead. TMs will be going back to being single use, but players can obtain more of them to use throughout the game.

Pokmon Diamond And Pearl Remake Gameplay And Setting

If you played the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games on Nintendo DS, then you should know what to expect in terms of gameplay. The core Pokémon series gameplay appears to be largely unchanged, maintaining exploration of the overworld, turn-based combat and a focus on catching as many Pokémon as you can to fill out your Pokédex as an extra completionist objective.

Based on recent previews of the game, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl look like they’re going to be fairly faithful, if slightly safe, remakes that bring forth a lot of nostalgia. The updated art style makes for a cuter, more cosy game but it seems like the core experience will be familiar for those that loved the originals.

It seems the aim of the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes is a fairly faithful recreation but with some much-needed quality of life improvements. Indeed, improvements from newer releases like auto-save, character customization, improvements to HMs and being able to access your Pokémon Box from anywhere have all been noted. More contentiously, EXP Share will also be present in the remakes but it appears players won’t be able to turn it off which isn’t likely to please everyone.

Contests have also been slightly revamped to make them more interesting, with more cutomization and a new rhythm game element.
