Us Airdate: Never Aired
This episode was never aired in the US, or in many other areas using the 4Kid’s dub due to featuring realistic firearms and a man who’s willing to point them at children.
Ash and company reach the Safari Zone. They meet Kaiser, the warden and care taker of Safari Zone, who repeatedly threatens them with a firearm. He explains how the Safari Zone functions and what is the penalty to break the rules. He also visibly denies any rumors of a Dratini living in the Safari Zone, despite having a picture of it in his office. Professor Oak reveals to our heroes that Kaiser had once spotted and befriended Dratini in the area 30 years ago, but its presence in the Safari Zone lured a myriad of trainers intending to catch it, causing the Safari Zone to be nearly destroyed in the process hence why the use of regular Poké Balls is now banned and why Kaiser is so hostile. He then demands them to catch as many Safari Pokémon as they can since he hasn’t gotten any Pokémon recently from Ash.

When Did The Dratini Evolve Into A Dragonair
It evolved into a Dragonair at the end of the episode. Dratini debuted in the banned episode EP035, under the protection of the warden of the Safari Zone. He watched the Safari Zone from any poachers, but gave Safari Balls to any trainer who wants to get in. Kaiser was eventually intimidated by Team Rocket, who wanted to know about a Dratini. “Beauty and the Beach”
“Beauty and the Beach” is the 18th episode of the original Japanese series. It is the first episode to be originally skipped by 4Kids Entertainment upon the original American broadcast of the series until 2000. On June 24, 2000, an English-language version of the episode aired on Kids’ WB as “Beauty and the Beach”.
In this episode, the female characters all enter a beauty contest. Team Rocket also enters, with James donning a suit with inflatable breasts. One scene of the episode involved James showing off his artificial breasts for humorous effect, taunting Misty by saying: “Maybe, one day when you’re older, you’ll have a chest like this!” In one scene, he puffs up his breasts to over twice their original size. When it was dubbed and aired in 2000, all scenes of James in a bikini were edited. There were a number of other sexualized scenes, such as one in which Ash and Brock are stunned at the sight of Misty in a bikini and another in which an older man appears to be attracted to her. In addition, all Japanese text on signs, etc. remains intact in this episode, as opposed to other first-season episodes in which it was digitally replaced with English text.
“The Legend of Miniryu”
“The Legend of Miniryu ” is the second episode to be skipped by 4Kids Entertainment, and the first episode that never aired in any dubbed format. This is the 35th episode of the original Japanese series.

“Satoshi and Nagetukesaru ! A Touchdown of Friendship!!” is the 64th episode of the series Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon. It aired in Japan on March 1, 2018, but never aired in the United States. Although it was never explained why the episode was skipped over, some speculated that the face paint Ash used to disguise himself as a Passimian could be mistaken for blackface. This is the 1,005th episode of the Pokémon anime series.
Passimian had to wait until episode 1020, “A Young Royal Flame Ignites!” to be finally seen outside Japan and in the English dub for the first time because the banned episode is the first one in the original Japanese anime to show Passimian.

The infamous scene from the episode.
“The Legend of Dratini” was a controversial episode of the Pokémon anime that aired in Japan on November 25, 1997, but was never broadcast outside of Asia. The episode was banned by the American dub company 4Kids following a controversial scene, which included Ash being held at gunpoint. This, unsurprisingly, did not get past the 4Kids censors, and thus did not air. As all countries outside of Asia air dubs based on the English version, it was never shown outside of Asia.
4Kids used footage of this episode in the Pokérap which means that they likely got the episode from Japan at some point.
The episode being dubbed in English was later confirmed to be false by Eric Stuart, voice actor of Brock and James in the Pokémon anime. The Broadcast Standards and Practices division of the television network disapproved of the episode – thus, it was never dubbed and remained unaired.

Jessie says that the game isnt over yet and throws in the bomb. Jessie holds another firearm to Kaisers head while asking him to tell them where Dratini is. When Ash tries to say something, the warden pulls the hammer back on his gun. He falls down to the lake floor, seemingly dead.
When Ash asks what the mans problem is, the man pulls out a firearm and asks whether he wants to get shot. The main reason was because of the use of firearms in the episode where they were intended for comic effect but apparently were too far off the mark. I remember how jarring the following episode was when the Tauros are mentioned again.
Misty and Pikachu sing along, and Brock gives in and decides to sing as well. The lake swirls in a rapid vortex and a light shines from within. Inside the wardens office, Kaiser shows the group a basket of Safari Balls and a fishing rod.

The Legend Of Dratini Banning
During the broadcasting days of Pokémon: Indigo League , the thirty fifth episode of Season 1 titled “The Legend of Dratini” was banned from airing outside of Japan by 4Kids Entertainment due to the pervasive use of firearms, which are pointed at Ash and Kaiser and were also fired at Jessie, James, and Meowth. Even though the scenes where Kaiser threatens Ash, Misty and Brock with his guns were intended for comic effect, 4Kids Entertainment still found this too dark for children. This caused major confusion for long time fans and even newcomer fans to the point there was a considerate plot hole in the first season’s international dubs that didn’t explain how Ash captured his own flock of Tauros.
The episode was also banned in South Korea due to references of Japanese culture due to Japan and South Korea having a rocky relationship, and has not been unbanned in South Korea ever since, even after the relationships between the two countries warmed up.
