How To Rename Eevee To Evolve Into Sylveon Leafeon Glaceon Umbreon Espeon Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon

Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee – How to Get Articuno

Evolving Eevee using the required 25 Eevee candy will produce a random evolution. However, you can control which type it turns into by renaming the monster beforehand:

  • Rename Kira to evolve into Fairy-type Sylveon
  • Rename Linnea to evolve into Grass-type Leafeon
  • Rename Rea to evolve into Ice-type Glaceon
  • Rename Sakura to evolve into Psychic-type Espeon
  • Rename Tamao to evolve into Dark-type Umbreon
  • Rename Rainer to evolve into Water-type Vaporeon
  • Rename Sparky to evolve into Electric-type Jolteon
  • Rename Pyro to evolve into Fire-type Flareon

There are some caveats here. This only works one time per evolution, so if you plan to use your Eeveelution in battle, make sure youve chosen an Eevee with favourable stats. The naming trick is currently the only guaranteed way to evolve Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon once youve done it once, itll be up to random chance if you get another, regardless of what youve named it.

There are tricks to reliably evolving the other Eevee varieties more than once, though

  • Found at the end of Victory Road
  • You need to collect all Gym Leader badges, which grants you access to Victory Road

Strong Pokemon against Zapdos: Golem, Rhydon, Omastar, Gyarados, Lapras, Blastoise, and Zapdos.

Note that Articuno and Zapdos will level 50 when you fight them in Lets GO. On the contrary, Moltres will be 60 level and youll have to get all badges to be able to access the area.

Where to find the Seafoam Islands

Articuno likewise has a fitting location for its ice-type legendary Pokemon origins – it’s found out in the seas, specifically on the Seafoam Islands to the east of Cinnabar Island, one of the major cities in the game. The Seafoam Islands are easy enough to reach, but once you get there you’ll find your path forward obscured by some basic puzzles.

You’ll need the Strong Push secret technique to solve these puzzles – essentially you have to push some big stone blocks into holes in order to clog up the river and slow its flow so you can get to new areas – and it’s in these areas where you’ll find Articuno. It’s all quite simple, really, and you’ll find some decent Pokemon along the way like Jynx, Slowpoke, Slowbro, Seel and Dewgong – plus a chance to catch a Squirtle if you’re lucky.

When the time comes to fight Articuno, keep in mind its mixed ice-type and flying-type status. That makes it weak to Electric, Rock, Fire and Steel attacks. Don’t be tempted to deploy Zapdos here if you already picked it up – it’s weak to Ice, remember. Your best bet are water-type Pokemon, since that’ll resist Articuno’s devastating ice attacks.

When you catch Articuno, it’ll be at level 50.

Where Is Articuno In Pokemon Lets Go

To find Articuno in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu & Eevee, you need to make your way to the very south of Kanto. The big blue bird can be found east of Cinnabar Island, inside the Seafoam Islands. Inside, youll need to solve a small puzzle. The goal is to stem the flow of the water. To do this, you need to push all of the boulders down the correct holes. Follow them down after you push each one until they land in the water at the very bottom. When youve done all of them, you can use Sea Skim to reach Articunos raised platform.

    Take On The Master Trainers

Once you’ve enteredthe Hall of Fame, you will start to notice new Trainers throughout the Kantoregion. These are Master Trainers, dedicated Trainers that have devoted theirlives to training a particular species of Pokémon. Master Trainers can be foundanywhere, so you’ll want to retrace your steps through every route, tunnel, andbuilding to find them all.

Most MasterTrainers will challenge you to a one-on-one battle. The rest want you toimpress them with your training skills by showing them their favorite Pokémonwith an exceptionally high CP. You’ll want to raise these Pokémon to Lv. 100and feed them ample Candy to get their stats high enough to win these MasterTrainers’ favor.

If you do go up againstMaster Trainers, the fight can be very difficult. The catch is that you canonly use their Pokémon of choice during the battle, and no items! Most of theirPokémon will be between Lv. 65 and Lv. 80, so make sure your Pokémon are atleast comparable. If you need to build up your team, head to Cerulean Cave andbuild up a large Catch Combo by catching multiple Chansey. It provides a ton ofExp. Points when caught, so it’s a great way to level up your Pokémon. Be sureto boost your Pokémon’s stats by feeding them Candy, as wellyour opponentshave done the same.

Fighting Articuno In Pokemon Lets Go

Like the other two legendary bird Pokemon, Articuno appears as a level 50 enemy, and youll have to defeat it in battle before you can catch it. As an Ice-type, Articuno is weak to Fire-types, so if you have a good Fire Pokemon, you should be set. Theres a five-minute timer as well, so be quick about it.

After beating Articuno, youll be able to attempt to capture it. We recommend using a Silver Razz Berry, then start pelting it with Ultra Balls. Remember to save your game before triggering the fight with Articuno, just in case you run out of Balls or it escapes.

Thats all you need to know about how to get through the Seafoam Islands and catching Articuno in Pokemon Lets Go. Be sure to check our Pokemon Lets Go guide wiki for more tips and information on the game. If youre looking for post-game content to get into, weve got you covered as well.

    How To Catch Zapdos

Players will be able to catch the legendary birds in the wild, but only after they catch them in their original locations first. Each of the three birds resides in a special location in Pokemon Lets Go that players must venture to. Zapdos is the easiest to get to, as it only requires the secret technique Sea Skim. Players should head down Route 10 toward Rock Tunnel, where players fought Team Rocket with Lorelei.

Once players have reached the entrance of Rock Tunnel, they should head right and use Sea Skim on the river running next to the entrance. This patch of water is also where players can find the rare Dratini if they are lucky. After following the water, players will stumble upon the Power Planet. Once inside, players simply need to navigate the winding halls to find Zapdos. Once players catch the bird, it will be Level 50.

    How To Get Another Articuno

Interestingly enough, you can actually capture another Articuno in the wild if you want, unlike the original Pokemon Yellow. In order to do this, you will need to receive all eight Gym Badges, defeat the Elite Four, and become the Kanto Champion.

Once you have done this, you will find yourself back at your home in Pallet Town. Leave your home and the game will inform you that there are three select Pokemon that you can now ride above the ground. These three Pokemon are Charizard, Aerodactyl, and Dragonite.

Simply select one of these three as the Pokemon you want to take out of its ball and you will now soar above the skies. Head to almost any route from Route 1 through Route 25 where you can find Pokemon in the sky and you have a rare chance of encountering another Articuno. It is also possible to use the normal methods of Shiny Charm, lures, and a catch combo to shiny hunt for a shiny Articuno.

Where To Find Articuno In Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee

As you can see, this legendary bird is totally worth doing your best to get, not only for being in this category but for how powerful it is.

As we already said, Articuno is not seen in the wild, you can only find it in some special events that Niantic announce previously.

So far, it has been found in raids between the months of July and September.

It can also be obtained through special field investigations, although there have only been 4 to date.

Another way to obtain it is as a dark pokémon, after defeating Giovanni, the leader of Team Go Rocket.

Unfortunately, we can only wait for the next event where we can get it, however, we will leave you some tips to defeat it in case you have to face it in raids.

    How To Get Shiny Articuno

You can actually capture a shiny Articuno if you want, though, it will take immense time and patience. Don’t worry if the Articuno doesn’t appear shiny before you approach it as the game doesn’t determine if it’s shiny or not until you activate the initial cutscene.

So, you can simply save before approaching it and “soft reset” until you get the shiny Articuno. All you have to do for this is save before approaching, watch the initial cutscene, and see if it is shiny or not in battle. If it isn’t, all you need to do is head to the home screen on your Switch and close out of Pokemon Let’s Go.

Reopen the game, reload your save, and retry again and again until you finally get the chance to capture a shiny Articuno. Good luck!

    Getting To The Seafoam Islands

Once youve obtained the Sea Skim Secret Technique in Fuchsia City, you can technically already start making your way to the Seafoam Islands and Articuno itself. You can get there from the southern part of Fuchsia City, or the eastern part of Cinnabar Island.

If youre at Fuchsia City, head south from the Poke Mart till you reach the ocean, then keep heading south past all the swimmers and beauties till you reach the island. Similarly, if youre at Cinnabar Island, get into the water from the eastern part of the area and keep swimming till you find the island.

How To Get To The Seafoam Islands

Before you can actually capture Articuno, you must first reach the Seafoam Islands where it is located. The Seafoam Islands can be found at any point after you have discovered the Sky Dash and Sea Skim secret techniques. Sky Dash can be learned after defeating Team Rocket at the Game Corner while Sea Skim is taught by a man with a Lapras in Fuchsia City.

Once your partner Pikachu or Eevee has those, fly or run to Fuchsia City. Once there, head south from the Pokemon Center to the beach in Route 19.

How to get Articuno in Pokemon lets go Pikachu & Eevee

    Where to find Victory Road

Moltres is the only Pokemon in the world of Kanto in a place that you absolutely must visit in your pursuit of the main story. The fire-type legendary bird can be found in Victory Road to the west of Viridian City, the cave-like system that provides the ultimate final challenge to Pokemon Trainers before they tackle the Elite 4. This place is crawling with little puzzles that use many of your secret techniques, but you’ll only need the one to reach Moltres.

Find the area where Officer Jenny is hanging out – you met her earlier on in the story and probably picked up a naughty Squirtle from her. She’s also the only cop you’ve seen – Kanto is rough. Anyway, she heals you up here, but to the right of where she’s hanging out is a Strong Push block. Move it and head down the ladder – on this floor you’ll find Moltres.

Moltres is a fire and flying type mix, which makes it weak to Rock, Water and Electric-type attacks. For this encounter you could use Zapdos – but not Articuno – but if you want to batlte with non-legendary Pokemon another water type Pokemon is a solid bet, as are rock-type Pokemon, who’ll resist fire damage and dish out double damage to Moltres.

Once you catch Moltres, it’ll be at level 50.
