How To Trade From Pokemon Black And White
A new system for trading old Pokémon from the Black and White DS games was announced called the Pokémon Bank, which allows players to conveniently store up to 3,000 of their beloved Pokémon on the Internet.
In using the Pokémon Bank, players will be able to download an app on their 3DS that allows them to easily transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black and White to their 3DS system. From there, they can load up their Pokémon X and Y games to access the previous Gen.s creatures.
The app will be called Poké Transporter, and will have an annual service fee attached to its sister service, the Pokémon Bank. Read more on the cloud trading service here on Bulbapedia.
Team Flare And Npc Detailed
The first of the NPCs detailed are the leaders of Team Flare. According to the press release, each will be identified by their unique hair color. The purple-haired woman is Celosia, the orange-haired woman is Aliana, the green-haired woman is Bryony, and the blue-haired woman is Mable.
Also, the big bad of Team Flare was described as such: There is one man among the Scientists, Xerosic, who is easily identifiable by his red goggles and fire-red hair.
A mysterious trainer Diantha, likely a League Champion speculation contender, was described as being a movie star thats interested in trainers with true potential. The player will meet her throughout his or her journey.
The Electric Tale Of Pikachu
In The Electric Tale of Pikachu, unlike the anime from which the manga was based on, new Pokémon Trainers do not appear to be given any sort of starter Pokémon. Professor Oak is not shown residing at his laboratory handing out starter Pokémon to new Trainers, as in the anime, rather, he travels the Kanto region conducting research, often accompanied by Bill. Trainers in The Electric Tale of Pikachu must obtain a license before they can purchase Poké Balls or otherwise capture and train Pokémon. Ash found Pikachu under the floorboards of his home, keeping it as his first Pokémon. It is not currently known what Gary Oak‘s first Pokémon was in the manga.

Pokmon Gold & Silver: The Golden Boys
In Pokémon Gold & Silver: The Golden Boys, much like Pokémon Gold and Silver, Gold is offered the choice of one of the three Johto starter Pokémon Chikorita, Cyndaquil or Totodile to borrow so that he may run an errand for Professor Elm. Gold chooses Totodile, which Elm allows him to keep after the errand is completed. Also, like in the games, Black, who is based on Silver, steals a Chikorita from Elm’s lab while Gold is away on his errand.

Possible Pokemon X And Y Starter Evolutions
With Pokemon X and Y being announced yesterday the fan speculation and art has already become too much to contain.
We caught a glimpse of a lot with yesterdays announcement: playable characters, the three starters, the two main legendaries, and ever some gameplay. What we didnt get to see was what the starters will look like once they are evolved.
This is the sixth generation of Pokemon and weve already see plenty of awesome water, fire, and grass starter evolutions but weve also seen way too many Fire/Fighting combos. Thats why this excellent fan art picture has me buzzing with hope that this may actually be somewhat official.
I say somewhat because, honestly, there is no source for the picture. It was posted on reddits r/pokemon by user BlueJoeCo who admits it is fan art but posts no source. Weirder yet, the super sleuths of reddit werent able to find any, either. Could this picture be some sort of concept art from Game Freak?
Either way, it certainly looks like all three could be real. Each of them compliments the starters perfectly as a full evolution just like the prior games starters.
Plus, frog beard.
Speculation abound, of course, but it is fun to look at some crazy good art be it fan or actual concept.
Pokemon X/y Starter Evolutions Quilladin Braixen And Frogadier Gameplay Trailer More Localized Details
All of that wonderful Pokemon X and Pokemon Y news that we’ve picked up from CoroCoro magazine earlier this week has now been localized. That start with names for our starters first evolutions, Quilladen, Braixen, and Frogadier, which surprisingly confirms the fan theory that they’re themed off RPG characters — Knight, Witch and Thief. Then we’ve got over half a dozen other new Pokemon, though some are missing and some are new. Wrapping up, we’ve got new details on character customization and what Team Flare is up to. With just a month until the Pokemon X and Y October 12 release date, things are heating up!
Let’s start with the evolutions for Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie, who become Quilladin, Braixen and Frogadier. Here are their official descriptions, as provided by Nintendo:
It’s a bit odd to think of a Paladin throwing mud at his enemies, but maybe I just shouldn’t take these evolutions’ themes so seriously.
Next on the list is a ton of new Pokemon along with their official English names. That’s not all though, as a new Pokemon is also ready to be introduced. Pyroar, with both male and female versions, appears to be an evolution of that adorable cub Litleo. Oddly enough Pyroar and dino-Pokemon Amaura and Tyrunt are absent from the press release, so we don’t have any further information. Plenty of screenshots, though!

Froakie: Evolves Into Greninja
Froakie has many fans, but its not as famous as its final evolution, which has made several prominent appearances in both the Pokemon anime and the Super Smash Bros. series. With its high speed and attack, it fits both incredibly well as the most competitive fighter and just by its aesthetic and design alone.

Greninjas popularity is far from surprising, as there are few Pokemon with this kind of ninja appearance, and its moveset in the later levels make it utterly unique to other fast fighters. Its huge list of appearances certainly odd, but fully understandable.
Greninja also holds the title of the most popular Pokemon after a fan vote in 2020, where it placed in the top spot. People love this strange ninja frog, because it’s a really cool Pokemon.
How Do The Starters Rank For Effectiveness
If I was to rank the three starters in terms of effectiveness it would be something like this:
- 1. Fennekin
- 2. Froakie
- 3. Chespin
Technically, Froakie and Fennekin are tied for first place, but since Fennekin is likely to handle much better for new players, it takes the top spot.
Of course, this isn’t to say that any choice is bad. The most important thing is that you like your starter since it’s going to be with you for the entirety of your through the Kalos region. So with that out of the way, get out there and go catch ’em all!

Pokemon X And Y Final Evolution Pictures For Starters
Its been one of the biggest Pokemon X and Y speculations so far, and finally the final evolutions for the three starter Pokemon have been revealed. This all comes thanks to a leak from early retail copies of the games. Currently theres not much known about the final forms at the moment. Beware: these may be considered spoilers, so if youre waiting to evolve your lovely Pokemon and see the final form while you play, consider this your warning!
First we have Chesnaught, the final evolution of Chespin. Its a grass/fighting type and looks pretty kick-ass. Our second evolution is the final form of Froakie, called Greninja. Its a water/dark type, and actually reminds me of Polygon crossed with a Polytoad! And the final third evolution, which is my personal favourite, is Delphox. Delphox is the final evolution of Fennekin, and is a fire/psychic type.
So which of these is your favourite? Personally Ill still be sticking with Fennekin .
Pokmon X And Y Starter Evolved Forms Revealed In Trailer Screenshots And Art
Nintendo and Game Freak have officially unveiled the evolved forms of the three brand new starters coming to Pokémon X and Y.
Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie will evolve into Quilladin, Braixen and Frogadier, respectively. The brand new trailer at the head of this post shows the evolved forms in actual gameplay.
The press release that brought news of the starters’ evolved forms indicates how each Pokémon will change. Here’s the skinny on Quilladin, Braixen and Frogadier.
In addition to news of the starters, Nintendo unveiled the Mega forms of Mewtwo. We already knew Mewtwo could achieve the mega level, but now we know, according to the release, that “Mewtwo can Mega Evolve into either Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y, depending on which Mega Stone Mewtwo holdsMewtwonite X or Mewtwonite Y.”
This Mega evolution stuff is equally nerdy and amazing all at once.
Finally, Mega Garchomp, Furfrou and Meowstic were also revealed. Dig into screenshots and art for all of these Pokémon in the gallery below. There’s a ton, so get set.
Pokémon X and Y will launch for the Nintendo 3DS on Oct. 12, 2013. That release date is worldwide.

Fennekin: Great Against The First Gym
The Fox Pokemon, Fennekin, is probably the simplest of the three Kalos Starters. It doesnt have complex moves early on, and its stats are relatively neutral, making it mechanically less exciting at the start of the game.
What it lacks in power, though, it makes up for in super effective attacks. Chespin needs its diverse moveset to survive and Froakies speed can give it an edge, but Fennekin has some of the most neutral power and can easily carry your team through the start of the game. Its unexciting but undoubtedly effective.
Pokmon Black 2 And White 2 Animated Trailer
In the Black 2 and White 2 Animated Trailer, Nate is shown to have picked a Tepig, which appears as an Emboar throughout the trailer. Following the game’s logic, Hugh is seen with a Samurott, which has a type advantage over Emboar. In the extended version of the trailer, Rosa is also seen using Serperior to battle Cheren‘s Stoutland.

Chespin: Learns An Early Rock
The Spiky Nut Pokemon, Chespin, starts the game off at a slight disadvantage due to the first Gym Leader being a super effective Bug-type expert. This is an unfortunate downside, but is immediately balanced out by its unique move diversity thats not shared by either of the other starters.
Chespin very quickly learns Rollout, a Rock-type attack that can deal intense damage against the Bug-type and Flying-type Pokemon you encounter early on. This prevents any of its weaknesses from holding it back and gives an extra dimension to battle early in the game, something that the other starters lack.

Should you play Pokemon X or Pokemon Y?
More than anything else, Pokemon has always been a game about choices. X and Y are no different. From your preference in starter Pokemon to move selection and team composition, this series offers a ludicrous number of options for differentiating your squad from the competition.
First of all, you’ll only be able to find the legendary stag Xerneas in Pokemon X. Likewise, the winged monstrosity Yveltal is limited to copies of Pokemon Y. Yveltal sports the Flying and Dark types, while Xerneas shows off the new Fairy type. Both are fairly lethal in their own right.

Froakie: Powerful Hidden Ability
Froakie and Greninja are not only competitive for their stats, but also for an alternative passive ability that you can only get from certain events and Kaloss Friend Safari. This ability is called Protean, and it changes Froakies Pokemon type into whichever moves it uses.

The result is that it can be incredibly hard to land super-effective attacks, and Froakies attacks are made stronger since each move will end up having bonus damage by being the same type as the user. This pushes Greninja to be an extremely dominant Pokemon in competitive battles, appearing more often than any other of the Kalos Starters.
Of course, the most notable stat in Greninja’s arsenal is its speed, at a comfortable 122 points. One of both of the other two final evolutions pass it for the other stats, but they wouldn’t be able to keep pace with Greninja very easily.
Fennekin: Massive Special Attack
Fennekins final evolution might be aesthetically unique, but beyond looks, its typing and stats grant it significantly more power than the other Kalos Starters. This takes the form of a powerful secondary Psychic-type trait, but also a massive boost to its Special Attack stat.
Similar to the early game, Fennekin and Delphox have a raw power that none of the other Starters have. Its extremely straightforward, but it doesnt require the complicated movesets of Froakie and Chespin, making it much easier to use. All you need are strong Special Moves, and your Starter will annihilate the competition in an instant.

Choosing a starter Pokémon is but one of many choices that you’ll make whilst playing Pokémon X or Y. It is however, one of the most important, and will likely have an impact on the shape of your subsequent team.
In this article I’m going to cover each of the three available starters: Chespin, Froakie and Fennekin and discuss their uses to get good performances out of them. These aren’t necessarily the “best” ways to play them, and pretty much just about any build will get you through the game, but they’ll set you on the right path should be a little unsure.

My God these are horrible. Chespin’s Evo looks like Buzzlight Year. Either way I’m going with TeamFroakie.

To be honest, after taking time to assess the designs Chespin’s evo is the only one who looks terrible to me. Fennekin’s is good and Froakie’s is pretty great I’d say.

All 3 are horrible, they really let them selfs go this generation when it comes to design. Froakie’s is the best, but still eh. I was so hoping for Chespin to be good, but what the heck is that?

Chespin: Unique Defensive Moves
Chespin and its evolutions can fight far different than a typical Grass-type. Rather than tricky moves like Leech Seed to remain healthy or relying on an immense speed, Chespin instead is given tools to build up its stats and protect its health before slamming its opponent with physical moves.
Chespins evolved forms also have the most distinctive move of any Starter Pokemon in the form of Spiky Shield, a move that prevents all damage and inflicts some onto anyone making physical contact. Most signature moves involve damage and a unique effect, but Chespin gets something with immensely more utility alongside its diverse suite of offensive moves.
With a bulky 122 defense, Chesnaught is a tough nut to crack . But, whereas many defensive tanks rely on withstanding blows, Chesnaught also has a very nice attack stat, meaning it can both take hits and deal them out.
