Pokemon X And Y Mega Evolutions

Pokemon X And Y Wiki Guide

Pokemon X and Y: All Mega Evolutions!

Mega Evolution is a new type of evolution that affects a small number of Pokemon in X and Y . For a Pokemon to Mega Evolve, you must give a specific Mega Stone to the Pokemon. It is then used in tandem with a Mega Ring to mega evolve a Pokemon during battle.

See the Mega-Evolved Pokemon page for more info on Mega Evolutions.

Mega Stones Found Only In Pokemon Y

Some of these stones are, just like in X, for Pokemon only found in the other version of the game. They really want you to work for your Mega Evolution.

I don’t care how OP he is, he still looks goofy.

  • Mega Mewtwo Y is mono psychic. Its ability is Insomnia which prevents it from having status effect sleep inflicted on it. It is found in the same place as Mewtwo’s other Mega Evolution’s stone.
  • Mega Heracross is bug/fighting. Its ability is Skill Link: multi-strike moves have their frequency increased. You can find its stone post game in Santalune Forest.
  • Mega Houndoom is a dark/fire type and its ability, Solar Power, lowers HP in sunshine in exchange for boosting its Sp. Atk. You can find it postgame on Route 16.
  • Mega Agron is mono steel. Its ability, Filter, will reduce the power of super effective attacks made against Agron. The stone for this Mega Evolution is found in the Cyllage Gym.

What Is This Mega

Another bit about Pokemon X that gets me a little fidgety is Mega-Evolution. It’s nice to have this for new Pokemon like Banette, but I never expected there to be one for the old-timey Mewtwo. But just for the record, Mega-Evolution is really cool! You would have never expected this from Pokemon, and I hope they continue to come up with these types of add-ons to their future games.

Keep on the lookout for more Pokemon X reviews, cause I’ll surely be bringing them. Also, if you have any questions about the game, feel free to comment. Always here to help!

How To Evolve Pokmon

Many Pokémon in the Pokémon universe either evolve or have evolved. After a Pokémon evolves it’s usually stronger. Some Pokémon even gain a type after evolving. For instance, when Dragonair evolves into Dragonite, it becomes a Flying type as well as a Dragon type.

Some moves can only be learned when a Pokémon is in its basic form. Pikachu learns moves like agility and quick attack, but cannot learn those if it evolves into Raichu too quickly. With this in mind, there are many different ways to evolve Pokémon. Some Pokémon require other methods, like using evolution stones, leveling up in certain areas, through trade and holding specific items.

The most famous evolution Pokémon is Eevee. Eevee has many different evolutions that can be obtained in different ways. The newest “Eeveelution” is the fairy type Sylveion. New to the series are the Mega Evolutions. Only certain Pokémon can Mega evolve, like Blastoise, Charizard, Venasaur, Mewtwo and more. Mega Evolved Pokémon are some of the strongest in the game. You can only Mega Evolve in battle, and your Pokémon reverts back after said battle concludes. On top of that, you need certain stones to Mega Evolve your Pokémon, so be on the lookout.

There is no exact method to successful Pokémon training. Everyone has his or her own favorite path and personal preferences. Through trial and error, however, you’ll eventually dominate battles and become a Pokémon legend.

Top 10 Mega Evolutions In Pokemon Xy

1Charizard X/Y

Charizard may be super weak, but his Mega evolutions bring him to a whole new level. Charizard has 3 weaknesses: water, electric, and mainly rock. Charizards Mega evolutions take down these types easily. Mega charizard X’s resistance to electric combined with tough claws and high attack and stats take down electric types easily. Water and rock types have no chance against Mega charizard Y because of his combination oChf high special attack, drought ability and solar beam. Both Mega evolutions are also considered best dragon dancers. Charizard becomes must have in team just because of Mega evolutions.

Yes. Haters even can agree that these Mega evos. Are simply pure amazing. Two perfect designs while Y is more similar to its original counterpart, it has a more ragged, menacing look, complete with a crown-like crest on its head, while X, the more popular choice of the two, looks epic in a black and blue color combo, making it epic, complete with epic blue flames bursting out of its mouth, only to fire at opponents, yep, the best.

For people who are saying mega mewtwo or mega rayquaza should be higher. It is about how cool the mega is and I had mega charizard X in omega Ruby. It crushed everyone. Even primal grodoun in competitive battling got destroyed

2Lucario

Ok I don’t care if Mega Mewtwo Or Mega Charizard are in the lead, but really? Lucario is one of the best mega evolutions in Pokemon, plus every badass Pokemon should come first place.

5. Gengar

Gengar, the final evolution of the original Ghost Pokémon, Ghastly. Gengar was already a threat and the mega evolution makes it unbelievably powerful. Before mega evolution, its Special Attack is 130 and Speed is 110, already pretty high. After mega evolution, its Special Attack goes up to 170 and Speed goes up to 130. This makes it a very good special sweeper.

Mega Gengar also gets the Shadow Tag ability. This traps the opponent so that they cannot switch to another Pokémon. The move, Baton Pass, will still allow the opponent to switch though.

It is a Ghost/Poison type, so it gets stab from some strong moves, such as Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb. Mix that with immunities to Normal and Fighting type attacks, and he gets a well deserved spot in the top 5.

Working Through The Ridiculous Pokemon

One of the most embarrassing parts of playing this new generation Pokemon game is what the Pokemon types and species have become. Some of them, I admit, are genius: like Zygarde and Amaura. They are unique in their design and powers and I find them to be very complimentary to this new Pokemon game.

On the other hand, the ridiculous Pokemon such as Klefki , and Honedge , make me a bit worried for the future of my beloved childhood past-time, Pokemon will become.

Every Pokmon That Can Mega Evolve

Pokemon X and Y – Mega Evolutions Trailer

Pokémon Mega Evolution, added in Gen 6, gives Pokémon additional, powerful forms, but it can only be achieved in battle by a select group of species.

Every recent Pokémon generation has introduced a unique battle mechanic. Between Sword and Shield‘s Dynamax and Gigantamax forms, Sun and Moon‘s Z-Moves, and X and Y’s Mega Evolution, traditional Pokémon battles have become more exciting and engaging. While some variation of the former two mechanics can be used by all Pokémon, only certain species can Mega Evolve – and that list isn’t as long as some players might like.

Mega Evolution allows capable Pokémon to gain a new, temporary evolutionary form when holding the correct Mega Stone. Once per battle, a single capable Pokémon in the party can Mega Evolve for the duration. Mega Evolution lasts until the Pokémon is knocked unconscious or, unlike Gigantamaxing and Dynamaxing, the entire battle, if the Pokémon stays alive. Mega Evolution has appeared in X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and Sun and Moon. It also appears in some spin-off games, but it’s usually just a bonus there that’s limited to a short list of species. In Pokémon GO, for example, there are only 10 Pokémon currently able to Mega Evolve.

And A Look At Newcomers Dedenne Bunnelby And Skiddo

Following our coverage of the recent Pokemon X and Y info dump from CoroCoro, The Pokemon Company has come out with official art and some additional details on how the games new Mega Evolutions will work. The biggest thing you need to know is that they only take place during battle, after which point your Pokemon will go back to its normal form.

The new evolution will be brought on by Mega Stones, which are scattered throughout the region of Kalos and are named after the individual Pokemon theyre suited for. There is one exception: the Mega Stone Blazikenite cant be found in-game. Rather, itll be distributed via Wi-Fi starting October 12, which is when Pokemon X and Y launch worldwide. Sounds about right.

Funny how X and Y were I dont want to say off my radar entirely but they werent high up there, either. In light of this weeks information on Mega forms, Im fairly excited. Always was a bit of a Digimon fan, so perhaps thats why. Also, I want to squeeze Dedenne. Even if it results in a horrifying death by electrocution.
